The horror comedy franchise Scary Movie is back in theaters with a new movie. But does this legacy sequel that parodies other legacy sequels have anything new to say? Helmed by the Wayans Brothers, it lampoons horror tropes new and old amid a flurry of jokes and references, and brings back familiar faces like Anna Faris and Regina Hall. It also introduces a new generation to face the dreaded Ghostface.Do you want to hear about more legacy sequels? With movies like “Once,” “Begin Again” and “Sing Street,” Irish filmmaker John Carney has found a way to make movie musicals relevant for contemporary audiences. His latest effort is "Power Ballad." Kansas City's Paul Rudd stars alongside Nick Jonas in the story of a struggling wedding singer who bonds with a pop star. When the former boy band member steals a song from his friend, things get dicey. Rudd is as good as he's been in years, and Jonas is solid in a role tailor made for him. “Power Ballad” is a rousing crowd-pleaser that's filled with catchy music. If you are familiar with the phrase, "By the power of Grayskull," then the clunky action fantasy "Masters of the Universe" might be nostalgic for you...but that's really all it's got going for it. In this update of the 80s adventure cartoons based on the line of Mattel toys, Nicholas Galitzine plays an annoyingly uncertain He-Man, Jered Leto provides the petulant voice of Skeletor and Idris Elba is wasted as a washed-up warrior. The movie's tongue-in-cheek approach never works. “Masters of the Universe” lacks the power. The Wayans Brothers are back with yet another ultra raunchy horror movie parody. Despite its title, "Scary Movie" is actually “Scary Movie 6,” the latest installment in the franchise that started 26 years ago. It reunites many of the movies' familiar cast members including Marlon and Shawn Wayans and a few dozen other Wayans, Regina Hall and Anna Faris. Sadly, the Wayans have officially run out of ideas for “Scary Movie” and try to fill the gap with repetitive and aggressively offensive material. Now that's scary.

BEFORE SCARY MOVIE 6 THERE WAS THE OG PARODY! Scary Movie Full Movie Reaction Watch Along:   / thereelrejects   Scary Movie 2000 Reaction & Commentary with Greg Alba and Jackie Bonsignore first time watching! In the lead-up to the brand new Scary Movie reboot / Scary Movie 6, we're going back to the original horror parody classic that started it all: Scary Movie, from the Wayans Brothers, spoofing Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, slasher movies, teen horror, and every inappropriate 2000s comedy rule imaginable. In this Scary Movie reaction, Jackie watches the original for the first time while Greg revisits the movie that traumatized his Catholic school childhood in the funniest way possible. We break down the Ghostface parody Scary Movie opening, the Scary Movie Wassup scene reaction, Marlon Wayans as Shorty, Anna Faris as Cindy Campbell, Regina Hall as Brenda, the Brenda cinema scene Scary Movie, the Scream parody reaction, the I Know What You Did Last Summer spoof, and all the wild jokes that absolutely feel like they could never be made the same way today. With the new Scary Movie reboot bringing the franchise back, this felt like the perfect time for a Scary Movie franchise retrospective and Scary Movie original vs reboot conversation. The Wayans Brothers helped define the modern horror parody with this movie, and now that Scary Movie 6 is bringing back major franchise faces, we're looking at whether the 2000 original still holds up as one of the best horror parodies ever made. Is Scary Movie 2000 still hilarious? Is Anna Faris one of the most underrated comedy leads of the 2000s? Is Regina Hall's Brenda the funniest part of the franchise? And can the new Scary Movie Wayans Brothers reboot recapture this level of chaos? It's Friday, which means it's time for the bonus show. Episode 133 of Shoot Around kicks off with some genuinely surprising news — Alperen Sengun was voted the NBA's most overrated player by his own peers in The Athletic's annual poll. Seven-time champion Robert Horry weighs in on whether that reputation is fair, what Jeff Teague said about swag, and which players would actually top the overrated list if the guys had a vote.   Then it's straight into the Kevin Hart Roast — specifically the clips of Draymond Green catching shots from Tom Brady, Shane Gillis, Jeff Ross, and The Rock. The guys break down the best lines of the night and give Draymond his flowers for actually holding his own on the mic.   After that, a legendary clip courtesy of a listener: Vernon Maxwell on All The Smoke telling the full story of Hakeem Olajuwon slapping him in the locker room at halftime. Robert Horry was there for the Rockets at the time, so yeah — this one gets personal.   And then things take a turn. A Frontier Airlines plane struck a pedestrian who'd somehow made it onto the runway at Denver International Airport — and the guys react to the cockpit audio. From there, the show ends on a high note: the story of Jessica Holloway, the Tampa mom who set up a folding table at a U8 girls soccer game and started selling homemade wine to the other parents out of an Igloo cooler. Her menu included "Referee Tears" at $15 a jar. She was arrested. The guys are outraged on her behalf.   Subscribe for new episodes every Tuesday and Friday.   00:00  Intro – Big Shot Bob 00:30  Sengun Named NBA's Most Overrated Player 01:30  Breaking Down the Player Vote 02:30  Who Would YOU Vote For? 03:30  Robert Horry Weighs In on Overrated 04:30  Dillon Brooks, Markkanen & More Names 05:30  Draymond at the Kevin Hart Roast 06:00  Best Roast Lines on Draymond 07:30  Draymond Fires Back at Chelsea Handler 08:00  Regina Hall & the Roast Special Breakdown 09:00  Vernon Maxwell Story: Hakeem Slapped Him? 09:30  Mad Max Tells the Full Story 11:00  Robert Horry Reacts – He Was There 12:00  A Man Got Hit by a Plane at Denver Airport 12:30  Cockpit Audio from the Frontier Airlines Incident 14:00  The Guys React to the Runway Story 14:30  Jessica Holloway: The Wine Mom at the Soccer Game 15:00  The Menu: Sangria, Rosé & Referee Tears 16:00  Should She Have Been Arrested? 17:00  Parenting at Kids' Sports Events & Final Takes

A tragic aviation accident dominated the headlines as two pilots were killed after an Air Canada Express flight collided with a Port Authority fire-rescue vehicle while landing at LaGuardia Airport, injuring dozens of passengers and forcing the airport to shut down during an ongoing federal investigation. Officials confirmed the aircraft was arriving from Montreal when the collision occurred, and investigators from the NTSB are now examining air traffic control communications and runway procedures to determine what went wrong. In entertainment news, Michael B. Jordan is fueling excitement after addressing rumors that he may star in Universal’s upcoming Miami Vice reboot, with reports suggesting he could play Rico Tubbs opposite Austin Butler and that his recent Oscar win has significantly raised his asking price. Meanwhile, alleged tension between Regina Hall and Teyana Taylor on the set of One Battle After Another has sparked online debate, though some insiders and cast voices have pushed back on claims of serious conflict. The Hot Spot also highlighted Mary J. Blige opening up about a painful early-career encounter with an unnamed idol who criticized her appearance and vocals—a moment she says deeply hurt her but ultimately helped shape her resilience and legendary career. Movie Mike dives into the millennial optimism era which is being described on TikTok as a strangely comforting, slightly delusional time in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Mike shares what movies best represent this era from 500 Days of Summer to Easy A as he remembers a world of hipster aesthetics, early Instagram, and a belief that life would only improve, often contrasting with current, more cynical times. Mike gives his mini review of Disney-Pixar’s Hoppers. In the Movie Review, Mike shares his thoughts on THE BRIDE! starring Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale. It takes place in 1930s Chicago where a groundbreaking scientist Dr. Euphronious brings a murdered young woman back to life to be a companion for Frankenstein's monster. Mike shares his thoughts on Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale’s amazing performances but ultimately why it felt like Maggie Gyllenhaal was holding back on the story she wanted to tell. In the Trailer Park, Mike breaks down Scary Movie 6 and the long awaited return of the Wayans brothers. Can a raunch parody movie of this magnitude work in today’s climate? It marks the return of Anna Faris and Regina Hall 26 years after the original film first hit screens. New Episodes Every Monday! The original Scary Movie cast is officially back, and we’re unpacking why this reboot is the elder millennial nostalgia hit we didn't know we needed. From Anna Faris and Regina Hall returning to their iconic roles to the Wayans brothers reclaiming the franchise, we break down the "past my prime" narrative that previously sidelined these stars. Then, we have to talk about Married At First Sight Australia. Between a resurfaced video of Joel drumming with sex toys and the "vicious" dinner party showdown over his childhood teddy bear, the experiment has reached a whole new level of chaos. We’re debating whether Juliet’s reaction was a proportionate response or a total overreaction, and why the "Bear-gate" debate is currently taking over every group chat in the country. Is it a sign of a “quirky star" trying too hard, or are we just witnessing the most bizarre deal-breaker in reality TV history? "One Battle After Another" is an American black comedy action-thriller film produced, written, and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. It is inspired by the 1990 novel "Vineland" by Thomas Pynchon and features an ensemble cast led by Leonardo DiCaprio, with Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, and Chase Infiniti (in her film debut). The story follows an ex-revolutionary who is forced back into his former life of violence when a corrupt military officer pursues him and his daughter.
