He ran for Illinois Governor and Lt. Governor, and most recently was a candidate in the 2019 Chicago mayoral election. And now, he's one of the top names circulating as a possible spoiler to a second Lightfoot term.   On this episode of Car Con Carne, Vallas joined me for a conversation outside Haymarket Pub & Brewery (737 W. Randolph, Chicago). Sobitan grew up in Uptown and suburban Dolton, and he remembers how difficult it was for his Nigerian mother to get the traditional ingredients she needed. Often it meant spending all day at specialty markets that were far from where they lived. That's why Sobitan and his business partner Fola Dada created OjaExpress, a delivery app for ethnic foods. Lilly Winwood rolled through Chicago to headline the Haymarket Americana Series at Haymarket Pub & Brewery (737 W Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60661). Before she took the stage, she jumped in the Mazda for dinner and a conversation about her career, music, and rock-star-royalty father.
