Gerrymandering hits home, when Rep. Darin LaHood might be hit by Pritzker. But listen to the Illinois Governor's explanation on why he just HAS to do this, and hates gerrymandering, it's so sad this is happening to him but what else can he do?
Revelation Dates: March 1841 – September, 1842 Revelation Places: Nauvoo, Illinois Section 125 - Historical Background: As the saints from around the world gathered to Nauvoo, many of them settled on the west side of the Mississippi River (Iowa) where the land was more affordable. Two stakes were organized there. With the increasing emphasis on the gathering place in Nauvoo, the question was raised whether the saints in the Iowa Territory should relocate to Nauvoo. Joseph inquired of the Lord. Recap: The saints are to settle in the areas according to where Joseph Smith will be inspired to designate, including those areas west of the Mississippi. Section 126 - Historical Background: Brigham Young was baptized a member of the church in 1832 and has been one of the chief supports of Joseph. For 9 years he served many missions including the eastern states, Canada and England. Joseph predicted in 1832, “A time will come when Brother Brigham will preside over this Church.” Upon Brigham's return from his successful mission to England in 1841, he reported, “Through the mercy of God we have gained many friends, established churches in almost every noted town and city in Great Britain, baptized between seven and eight thousand souls, printed 5,000 Books of Mormon, 3,000 hymn books, 2,500 volumes of the Millennial Star, and 50,000 tracts.” Joesph received this revelation for Brigham in his own home. Recap: Brigham's offering is accepted by the Lord and he is told to stay in Nauvoo with his family, to “send” rather than “take” the Lord's word to the world. Section 127 - Historical Background: After Joseph's escape from Missouri into Illinois, Missouri Governor Boggs petitioned the Illinois Governor to arrest Joseph and extradite him back to Missouri for trial. To Joseph's surprise, and alarm, the Illinois Governor granted this request of extradition. Joseph's only protection was to stay out of sight until the sheriff, sent from Missouri, became discouraged and returned home. This section is an epistle to the saints by Joseph Smith while in hiding, explaining why he would be out of sight for a while. Recap: Joseph has left Nauvoo temporarily for the safety of the saints and himself. These “perils” Joseph is called to pass through are a small thing to him. Like Paul, Joseph glories in tribulation. The saints should be glad, even in persecution, for God will prevail. Meanwhile, when baptized for the dead, keep good records to show the legitimacy of the ordinances, for what is bound on earth is also bound in heaven. He promises more information will be sent by him shortly. Section 128 - Historical Background: Five days following section 127, Joseph sends this new epistle to the saints, expounding further instructions on the ordinance to baptize their dead. These baptisms were occurring in the Mississippi River until the baptismal font within the unfinished temple could be completed and dedicated. Joseph was anxious to share all the sacred ordinances to be performed inside the temple, but began with baptisms for the dead. Only 6 others, all of whom were apostles, had received their temple endowment earlier in May, in the upper room of the improvised temple of Joseph's store. This was necessary because the temple was only about half completed. Recap: Joseph reiterates the importance of a recorder to provide a witness and a very precise record of each ordinance. Whatever is recorded on earth is recorded in heaven, and likewise whatever is not recorded on earth is not recognized in heaven. The baptismal font in the temple is in similitude of the grave, being immersed in the water and then coming forth, as in the resurrection. All priesthood keys of past dispensations have been restored. Take courage and be glad, rejoice for the redemption of both the living and the dead.
Israel and Hamas agree to hostage release in step toward peace, Trump calls for jailing of Chicago Mayor and Illinois Governor, and fewer Americans plan to travel this holiday season.
A clearly mentally disturbed Donald Trump got on Truth Social on Wednesday morning and demanded that Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson be put in prison. Their crime, according to Trump, is that they aren't "protecting" his precious ICE agents that are disappearing people off the streets. ICE does not need "protecting," they are the ones that people need to be protected from. And with the way the agency has been attacking police officers, it seems like the ICE agents are the ones that need to be imprisoned.During an interview with Chris Cuomo on News Nation this week, Eric Trump went absolutely ballistic when Cuomo asked about the hypocrisy of Donald Trump weaponizing the federal government to go after his political enemies after spending years falsely accusing the Biden administration of doing that. Eric lost his mind when this was pointed out, and started yelling about all of the alleged offenses that Biden committed - with these examples being either exaggerated, fabricated, or happening long before Biden even ran for president. MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell announced this week that he is completely broke and can't afford to appeal a judge's recent ruling that found him liable for defamation against voting company Smartmatic. Lindell said that if he doesn't appeal it within 22 days, it'll go to a jury trial to determine the damages. The only problem, according to Lindell, is that he's completely broke, and now he's promising to go door-to-door to beg for money in order to get the cash to pay his lawyers. Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez came up with the perfect way to demoralize MAGA men, and it might be the most simple thing that a person can do: Laugh at them. She said this was particularly effective against Trump ghoul Stephen Miller, who was forced to watch her make fun of him on an episode of Laura Ingraham's Fox News show this week. Miller could barely muster a response, and Ingraham was slurring so much it was difficult to tell what she was saying, so it looks like AOC's method definitely worked. The official Twitter account of the Oregon Republican Party was busted using fake photographs to claim that Portland is under siege by the Left and that Trump's deployment of the National Guard was necessary. The only problem is that the pictures weren't from Portland, or from the US, or even from this year. Some of the pictures were nearly 20 years old and featured riot police in South America - obviously not modern-day Portland. The Oregon GOP deleted the post after being called out, but the damage has already been done. Donald Trump is escalating his threat to deploy the National Guard in Democrat-run cities. He's doing it under the guise of cracking down on crime, beginning with Washington DC. New York City, Los Angeles, Baltimore, and Chicago were among the cities singled out. The US President called Chicago a “mess”, and derided its mayor, Brandon Johnson, as “grossly incompetent”. The Illinois Governor, JB Pritzker, is hitting back at Trump, saying it's not about fighting crime but rather finding an excuse to deploy the military and intimidate his political rivals. US Correspondent Richard Arnold told Mike Hosking that in the past, the National Guard has been temporarily deployed by state governors only, not the federal government, so this is all new. Illinois is one of the bluest states in the country, so much so that more than two-dozen Texas House Democrats fled there to protest a proposed congressional map in their home state that could broaden Republican power in Washington. Governor J-B Pritzker is among the Democrats promising to fight – and some people think the fight might include a new map in Illinois.

Former Illinois Governor Jim Edgar, known for his impactful leadership, has disclosed a serious health battle. Diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer, Edgar is approaching this challenge with the support of expert medical teams from Chicago's Rush University Medical Center and Mayo Clinic. Edgar's tenure as the 38th governor from 1991 to 1999 is recalled with great respect, as is his legacy of fostering leadership through the Edgar Fellows Program. This initiative is renowned for encouraging bipartisan dialogue and leadership development. State Representative Ryan Spain recently recognized Edgar's contributions and extended heartfelt wishes for his recovery. Former Governor Edgar released a statement on his disgnosis: "Doctors at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago have determined I have pancreatic cancer that has spread," he said, in part. "They and physicians at Mayo Clinic are coordinating on a treatment regimen that I am following initially in Arizona, where we spend the winter, and later in Springfield when we return. We do not underestimate this challenge, but we have confidence in the medical team helping us address it..."
Governor JB Pritzker of Illinois is not your average progressive. He is a billionaire with an activist upbringing, in a family that prioritized advocating for the people who need it most. MSNBC's Jen Psaki wanted to get a sense of his approach to governing in this second Trump term and why priorities like raising the minimum wage and ending his state's grocery tax are front of mind for him. They also talk about the reality of a rigged system and the dangerous precedent set when an unelected citizen like Elon Musk is running much of our government. And the Governor is not shy about reminding Democrats to revive a core principle of making things just a little bit easier for everyday Americans.Want to listen to this show without ads? In an October 1 interview, former Illinois Governor Pat Quinn talked to Joan Esposito about the nonbinding Illinois Property Tax Relief Amendment, which is on the 2024 ballot. He explained: "Basically, it calls for a 3 percent surcharge on the income of millionaires in Illinois, that anybody who declares more than a million dollars in income in a particular year would pay a 3 percent surcharge, but that money would be used to give property tax relief to 3 million Illinois homeowners, people who live from paycheck to paycheck. This is tax reform at its best, in my opinion." Quinn also talked about his work creating a referendum on whether the Bears should get tax dollars for the team's Soldier Field multibillion-dollar renovation.
