There were a lot of pricks at Fred’s previous radio stations. Fred’s birthday was this past weekend and he celebrated by watching Back to the Future at the movie theatre with his family.  WHAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT: Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers advanced to the NFC Championship while Drew Brees struggled by throwing three interceptions in what could possibly be his last game in the NFL  The New York Knicks absolutely destroyed the Boston Celtics 105-75. Kemba Walker says he was pain-free in his season debut against the Knicks. Is Rich getting the vaccine soon? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Surprisingly we get to business in (relatively) short time! FFX-2 talk starts around the 14'30" min mark. As the boys wrap up not only the legendary Final Fantasy X-2, they also proceed to check out the few extraneous "X" related media post X-2 and truly wrap up the Final Fantasy X saga. Do any of these sub plots wrap up in a meaningful way? Is there any late game puzzles that annoy Jake we run into? Will Yuna finally see Tidus again? Whats this deal about multiple endings? Is Rich still a train-wreck due to dealing with a newborn (hell yes he is). What the hell is this "Last Mission" deal? And furthermore - what is -Will- and how terrible can it really be? The answer's to these and MORE on the latest Epic Space Battle Featuring Realistic Robots and kick-ass lasers and explosions and teenagers being dramatic about war...oh wait thats Gundam not this..... uh... umm.... RHLSTP #161: Johann Hari - Cannibal Chicken. The question of ham hands versus suncream armpits has gone international and been introduced to a new generation in the most charming of ways. But hat confusion, decade old Big Brother news and chicken restaurants aside, it's a pretty serious podcast in which journalist Johann Hari discusses his fascinating new book, 'Lost Connections'. Are our views on depression and antidepressants correct or do we need to look at these subjects in a new way? Johann discusses how an encounter with an apple made him consider the importance of listening to our symptoms, plus the power that people have to overcome the systems that can make them sad or even give up hope entirely. Is Rich's dad crazy for wanting to engage with strangers or is Rich insane for being disconnected from his neighbours? Do possessions bring us happiness? Do lesbian monkey orgies have anything to teach us? And what can bring Muslims, punks and gay men together? No emergency questions. Unless you consider the future of the human race an emergency. Alex speaks with Rich Shertenlieb, one-half of the "Toucher and Rich" morning show, weekdays on 98.5 "The Sports Hub" (interview is played at the five-minute mark). "Toucher and Rich" finished first in the spring of 2011 ratings book, and has finished either first or second in the market in every subsequent ratings book. Is Rich surprised at how much success the show has enjoyed in such a brief time span? Rich is on record of stating his dislike for most sports talk radio. Alex asks Rich how he goes about ensuring his show sounds different than most others in the sports talk genre, while still maintaining a sports-centric format. Alex also asks Rich if his opinion on sports talk radio has changed now that he's been on a sports talk station for three years. Arguably the trademark of "Toucher and Rich" is the bits they produce, and their relationships with many current and former athletes in the city (Brian Scalabrine, Milan Lucic, Shawn Thornton, etc). Rich, the mastermind behind the bits, discusses the process of formulating ideas for them, and then implementing those ideas. The Red Sox are still playing baseball, and Alex recaps their weekend series against the Yankees in New York. Are we finally going to see the Red Sox approach the rest of August with an eye towards 2013? Does Carl Crawford's long-awaited pending Tommy John surgery provide us with any insight into how the team may approach the rest of the month? The latest "salacious" details in the Adrian Gonzalez texting scandal, and whether ownership is capable of addressing the problems within the organization is discussed too. In the "Around the League" segment, Alex talks about the AL East standings, and the likelihood of the Rays and Orioles making a run at the Yankees. The relatable motivation behind Melky Cabrera's steroid use, the implementation of Stephen Strasburg's innings-limit, and more is discussed too. Email Alex at areimer@bu.edu, and follow him on Twitter @AlexReimer1. Feel free to post on the show's message boards at www.thesportsstuff.com/boards (signing up is free, quick, and easy)!
