Earlier this week, Pennsylvania’s resident rodent Punxatawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter. According to my calendar, we were already slated for six more weeks of winter prior to the official arrival of spring! For sports fans, there are just a few days left until the end of traditional football season. We’ll discuss the big game coming up on Sunday in just a bit. Pro football (like the other major sports) has slowly stretched-out its regular season. The NFL went from 14 games to 16 back in 1978. A 17th regular season game became a reality after the franchise owners wisely trimmed the pre-season from a ludicrously long four games down to three in 2021. It isn’t a secret that the NFL owners now want to expand to an 18th regular season game in a few years. They are reportedly offering to cut the preseason from three meaningless games to two. However, the NFL has telegraphed a desire to have each of the league’s 32 teams play one international game per year after expanding to 18 games. The NFL doesn’t do anything without a keen eye on profits. They have calculated the value of international television rights and global merchandising. It apparently makes financial sense. On Thursday, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees named to the NFL Hall-of-Fame! Saints fans are rejoicing today knowing that the greatest player in franchise history was voted into the Pro Football Hall-of-Fame Thursday in his first year of eligibility. Drew Brees received only two major college scholarship offers coming out of high school in Austin, Texas. After three terrific seasons as the starting quarterback at Purdue, Brees also excelled in the classroom by earning a degree in Industrial Management. It’s hard to believe that the (cough) 6′ Drew Brees was not a first round NFL selection in 2001. He was drafted on the first pick of the second round by the San Diego Chargers. Did you know that Drew Brees spent his first five NFL seasons playing for the Chargers? Fortunately for New Orleans Saints fans, Drew Brees was acquired by Louisiana’s Black and Gold team in 2006. His arrival in the Crescent City coincided with the hiring of offensive-minded first-year head coach Sean Payton. The Saints’ new dynamic duo provided a much-needed shot of optimism into the region following the devastation caused by 2005’s Hurricane Katrina. Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints eventually won the Saints’ first and only Super Bowl title on February 7, 2010 with a 31-17 win over Peyton Manning’s Indianapolis Colts. Has it really been 16 years since that game was played? Brees and the Saints should have earned a second Super Bowl appearance at the end of the 2018 season. The NFC Championship game played in New Orleans featured the all-time worst “non-call” by NFL referees on a quite obvious pass interference penalty late in overtime. The visiting Los Angeles Rams won 26-23 but lost to Tom Brady’s New England Patriots two weeks later in the NFL title game. After a 21-year NFL career, Drew Brees retired at the end of the 2020 season. The Saints legend set numerous NFL passing records including his incredible 54-game streak of throwing at least one touchdown pass. Drew Brees was an intense leader on the football field, an inspiring community leader off the field and is a proud father of four children. He has invested in several business ventures following his retirement from pro football. Brees also returned to television in 2025 to cover regional NFL games for FOX Sports. Only 1.5% of NFL players will ever be inducted into the Hall-of-Fame. Drew Brees deserved this honor and was voted-in during his first year of eligibility! Why is there even Pro Bowl game anymore? I don’t know. The NFL’s Pro Bowl game was played on Tuesday night. If I had known about it, it wouldn’t have mattered. My wife and I were fixated on the final night of the Westminster Dog Show (won by Penny the incredlble Doberman Pinscher). The top canines provided more compelling viewing than the NFL’s cringeworthy post-season fare. Tuesday night’s NFL Pro Bowl drew an embarrassing 1.9 million viewers. That is down from last year’s slightly-less embarrassing 4.7 million Pro Bowl viewers. Historically, the Pro Bowl game would pit the NFL’s most talented players from the teams which had been eliminated from playoff competition. The game (played in full pads and helmets) was held from 1980 and for more than three decades in lovely Honolulu, Hawaii on the weekend prior to the NFL’s title game. That tropical setting was once considered a big enticement for players to participate and bring their families along for a week-long vacation. Those of us watching on television at home could enjoy a mental warm-up watching football being played in the toasty sunshine featuring nearby beaches. Not anymore. Football players who are making millions of dollars per year don’t seem to value a fully-paid vacation week in Hawaii like they once did. In 2023, the Pro Bowl morphed into today’s goofy assortment of skills challenges and a 7-on-7 flag football game. The venue was also scaled down. This year’s game was played on Tuesday night in a 4,000-seat convention center arena in San Francisco. In case you cared, the NFC All-Stars rallied for a (cough) thrilling 66-52 flag football win over the AFC All-Stars. Zzz. The NFL’s championship game kicks-off Sunday at 5:30 PM CST on NBC This year’s season finale pits the AFC’s New England Patriots against the NFC Seattle Seahawks. Before the 2025 NFL season kicked-off, the oddsmakers in Las Vegas had last year’s champion Philadelphia Eagles plus the AFC’s Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills as the most likely teams to reach the championship game. Seattle and New England were significantly further down that list. Both teams missed the playoffs after the 2024 season. The Seahawks at least finished 10-7, but New England was a dismal 4-13 just one year ago. Only the 1999 St. Louis Rams had won just four games in a season (going 4-12) prior to returning the following year to win the NFL title. Rams’ quarterback Kurt Warner’s led the “Greatest Show on Turf” to an NFL championship. What caused such a terrific turnaround for this year’s New England Patriots? Last season’s 4-13 record by New England resulted in the team firing head coach Jerod Mayo. Former Patriots’ linebacker Mike Vrabel was given the chance to coach his former team beginning this season. Adding a talented coach like Vrabel certainly helped, but it doesn’t fully explain the Patriots’ turnaround story this season. The coach would replace 13 of the 22 starting players from last season. Every one of New England’s 11 NFL draft selections last spring made the cut and is still playing on the team as of this week. Add several financially prudent free agent signings, and the New England Patriots entered this season with a new team and a winning attitude. Coach Vrabel wanted “tough” minded players as he evaluate players being drafted or signed via free agency. A three-time NFL champion as a linebacker, Mike Vrabel played for legendary coach Bill Belichick and alongside quarterback Tom Brady for several years. He saw what type of mindset won titles in New England over the past quarter century. The Patriots steamrolled to a 14-3 record and won the AFC East title during the regular season. They beat the Houston Texans 28-16 in the divisional round and downed the #1 playoff seed Denver Broncos 10-7 in the AFC championship to earn a title shot this week. Seattle Seahawks traded their Pro Bowl quarterback and still improved in 2025 Gino Smith had been Seattle’s starting quarterback for two seasons through the end of the 2024 campaign. Smith had been named to the NFL’s Pro Bowl for two consecutive years. Surprisingly, the Seahawks traded Gino Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders during the offseason and were left without a starting quarterback. Seattle then hit the free agent jackpot by signing journeyman Sam Darnold to a three-year contract. Darnold is playing for his fifth NFL team in eight seasons and struggled for his first six years in the league. His breakout 2024 season with the Minnesota Vikings helped Sam Darnold gain a more permanent home in Seattle. The Seahawks’ stingy defense was rated #1 in the NFL allowing just 17 points per game in leading Seattle to a sterling 14-3 regular season. The Seattle offense also scored 28 points per game which was eighth best in the league. Coach Mike MacDonald was a successful high school football player who suffered a serious injury in his final game. He attended the University of Georgia and didn’t play football. However, he started coaching a high school football team while still in college. A summa cum laude graduate in Finance, Mike MacDonald jumped into coaching upon graduating from college. He would eventually become the defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens. The youthful 38-year old coach then accepted the head coaching job in Seattle two years ago. The Seahawks, like their head coach, play fundamentally sound football and rely on their top-rated defense to win games. You won’t find many familiar stars in this Sunday’s NFL title game Can you name the starting running backs for either Seattle or New England? I can’t. America is going to get a chance to learn a lot about these two unheralded competitors and their coaches on Sunday night in Santa Clara, California. The Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots quietly did the weekly work to climb the standings and finish with identical 14-3 regular season marks. The two starting quarterbacks aren’t flashy but both passed for more than 4,000 yards in the regular season. New England’s Drake Maye tossed 31 touchdowns but only had eight intercepted. Seattle’s Sam Darnold had 25 touchdowns but was picked-off 14 times (third highest in the NFL this year). These two teams have identical season records, great defenses, and effective quarterbacks. The biggest surprise to me is that New England is considered a 4 ½ point underdog in Sunday’s game. Enjoy watching those very expensive $8 million per 30-second commercials and, perhaps, the game itself! The post It’s Football Friday! appeared first on SwampSwamiSports.com.

“I take the blame on defense, we thought we earned it but it was a young mindset.” Jared Verse We love sports because it's all about the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat, but for the athletes who play the game, it's all the moments in between that truly impact one's journey and mindset. Heading into Super Bowl weekend, we look ahead to the big game with one of the most dominant young players in the NFL, LA Rams Jared Verse — the 2024 Defensive Rookie of the Year and one of the league's most disruptive young edge rushers. Jared joins The Pivot Podcast for a deep-dive into the chess match called professional football. The young star breaks down how film study, technique, and a relentless motor have helped him terrorize NFL quarterbacks, rack up pressures and tackles for loss, and evolve into a true game-changer for the Rams' defense. We get into LA's last two season endings in heartbreak loss, going inside the mindset after his team's NFC Championship loss in Seattle as Jared opens up in a reflective and humbling tone about what went wrong, who's to blame and how to recover mentally from the disappointment. He talks about his MVP quarterback Matthew Stafford, leadership from Sean McVay and special advice from Aaron Donald that has changed his approach to the game. In opening up about this loss that still stings, and how this feeling will fuel his offseason preparation — from extra hours in the lab to the mindset tweaks that separate good defenders from great ones. Plus, he shares what it's like to learn from and compete with the best: the time he challenged Aaron Donald to a brutal one-on-one workout, came out the other side exhausted but inspired, and walked away with lessons on grit, fourth-quarter toughness, and the habits of elite defenders. Jared also talks about the defensive stars he studies, the moves and counters he's adding to his repertoire, and how guys like Donald, Myles Garrett, Micah Parsons, TJ Watt and others helped shape his approach — even facing San Fran's Trent Williams on his welcome to the NFL moment and how it woke him up to another level. He also shares his thoughts on his former college teammate Keon Coleman's struggles in Buffalo and what he thinks will come of it all. From film breakdowns to mental insight to edge rushing philosophy, teammate dynamics, and how the greats build a game against the very best — this is one of the most personal, candid reflections of a top athlete opening up on the highs and lows of playing sports at an elite level. In Episode 6 of Allegedly Sports, M|M and Tom Schneider react to a wild championship weekend, Super Bowl implications, and the bigger questions shaping the NFL and NBA right now. The conversation blends game breakdowns, coaching decisions, league philosophy, and legacy — staying true to the show's commitment to honest, context-driven sports talk. The episode opens with a breakdown of the AFC Championship, where the Patriots punch their ticket to another Super Bowl. M|M and Tom debate style vs. substance, why winning ugly still matters, and how playoff football often comes down to weather, defense, and situational decision-making. The discussion highlights Denver's fourth-down gamble, Sean Payton's questionable call with a backup quarterback, and how one decision can swing an entire game. From there, the focus shifts to the NFC Championship, a dramatic matchup between the Rams and Seahawks. M|M and Tom analyze late-game execution, fourth-down choices, two-point conversion timing, and the fine margins that decide playoff games. They also discuss elite wide receiver play, defensive discipline, taunting penalties, and the broader issue of officiating consistency in high-leverage moments. The conversation then moves into the NFL coaching carousel, including reactions to recent firings and hires, ownership behavior, and how organizations often mishandle transitions. M|M and Tom debate whether coaching changes truly move the needle, how quarterbacks are judged unfairly by team outcomes, and why stability still matters — even in a win-now league. Quarterback legacy becomes a major theme, with a deep dive into how Super Bowl appearances factor into greatness, why rings alone don't define a career, and how narratives often oversimplify complex situations. The discussion includes comparisons across eras and the reality that timing, health, and organizational competence all play massive roles in quarterback success. The episode closes on the NBA side with reflections on Derrick Rose Night in Chicago. M|M shares firsthand experience from the ceremony, while both hosts reflect on Rose's legacy, injuries, relationship with the city, and Hall of Fame case. The conversation expands into how basketball culture has evolved, the rise of high school stars in the YouTube era, and why some players matter beyond box scores and championships. As always, the episode blends sharp analysis, respectful disagreement, and perspective rooted in actually watching the games. Topics Covered AFC Championship recap and Super Bowl implications Winning ugly vs. winning with style Sean Payton's fourth-down decision-making Weather, defense, and playoff football realities Rams vs. Seahawks NFC Championship breakdown Fourth-down and two-point conversion philosophy Taunting penalties and officiating consistency NFL coaching carousel and ownership influence Evaluating quarterbacks beyond Super Bowl rings Narrative vs. reality in legacy discussions Derrick Rose Night and Chicago sports culture Injuries, longevity, and Hall of Fame standards NBA star power, fit, and modern team-building

Hosted by Grant Mona, today's episode tackles one of the biggest NBA trade deadline stories and preview talk from Super Bowl week — packed with stats, context, and what it means for LA hoops and the NFL's biggest game. Segment One — Clippers Trade James Harden for Darius Garland Grant breaks down the blockbuster trade that sends James Harden from the Clippers to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Darius Garland and a second-round pick. The veteran 11-time All-Star is averaging 25.4 points and 8.1 assists this season, his best scoring output in years, while helping fuel L.A.'s mid-season push after a rough start. Meanwhile, the Clippers are bringing in 26-year-old Garland, a two-time All-Star averaging about 18.0 points and 6.9 assists before a toe injury slowed his season. The hosts unpack why this deal signals a shift for Los Angeles' roster strategy, how Garland could fit next to Kawhi Leonard and others, and what Harden's new role might look like in Cleveland's title chase. Segment Two — Super Bowl LX Preview & Sam Darnold at Media Day In segment two, Grant turns to the NFL as the Seattle Seahawks prepare for Super Bowl LX against the New England Patriots. The Seahawks finished 14–3, led by a balanced roster and elite defense, and will meet the Patriots — who also went 14–3 this season — in a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX. Quarterback Sam Darnold has been one of the key storylines of the playoff run, completing 346 yards and three touchdowns in the NFC Championship win and becoming a feel-good story heading into the big game. At Super Bowl media day, Darnold talked about his journey through multiple teams before finding success in Seattle and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to start in the league's biggest game. RUNDOWN Mitch and Hotshot Scott open Super Bowl week pleading for the rarest gift in sports: a wire-to-wire Seahawks blowout with zero anxiety attached. Instead, they confront history, betting lines, and the uncomfortable reality that Seahawks–Patriots games almost never come easy, dissecting spreads, totals, MVP odds, and prop bets surrounding Sam Darnold, Kenneth Walker, and the Seattle defense. ESPN insiders Mike Reiss and Brady Henderson join Mitch to trace the improbable parallel journeys of the Patriots and Seahawks from offseason uncertainty to Super Bowl 60. Reiss details how Mike Vrabel reshaped New England's culture around connection and accountability, while Henderson explains why Mike Macdonald's Seahawks are thriving on trust, depth, and collective buy-in rather than star power. The discussion zeroes in on Drake May's health, New England's offensive line vulnerabilities, Seattle's defensive front, and why the Seahawks are favored — while acknowledging that Patriots fans view this matchup as dangerous, not nostalgic. Mitch and Jason Puckett wrestle with the strangest part of Super Bowl 60 week: the complete absence of a believable reason the Seahawks should lose. They debate conspiracy theories, historical heartbreak, and why this matchup feels more like a gift than a grind, with comparisons to past Seattle sports collapses adding a layer of unease. Mitch reconnects with Dave Grosby to reflect on a defining week in Seattle sports history, Grosby's decades-long presence behind the microphone, and his upcoming honor from the American Parkinson Disease Association at the March 14 Magic of Hope Gala. Grosby shares a candid, deeply personal look at living with Parkinson's, the lack of a cure despite years of advocacy and fundraising led by figures like Michael J. Fox, and why continued research is critical. Peter King joins Mitch to unpack the shock of Bill Belichick not being a first-ballot Hall of Famer, offering rare insight into how Hall of Fame voting dynamics, strategic ballots, and a flawed system can produce surprising outcomes. The conversation shifts to Super Bowl 49 memories, lingering fallout inside the Seahawks locker room, and why the Seahawks–Patriots rematch echoes past championship blind spots where favorites felt inevitable — until they weren't. What a turn of events for Sam Darnold. After the Vikings let him walk in free agency and the story was about a guy who couldn't win the big games, Darnold has come out on top after beating the Rams in the NFC Championship game and advancing the Seahawks to the Super Bowl. Vikings fans are left wondering what if and the story still has another chapter to write. We review the upcoming Super Bowl and make our picks about who will win. On another note, pettiness does not die after high school, and Bill Belichick will somehow not be a first ballot Hall of Famer. There is a huge conspiracy going around about who in their right mind wouldn't have voted for Bill to make it in. Sam Darnold came up big when it mattered most, connecting with Jaxon Smith-Njigba for touchdown before halftime after taking a crushing hit. Kenneth Walker III punched in the opening score, and the offense executed a masterful five-minute drive that helped close out the game. The defense came up big on a critical fourth-and-four stop, with Julian Love and DeMarcus Lawrence dropping into coverage to stuff the Rams attempt—a play Sean McVay dismissed as "luck" in his post-game comments. Riq Woolen's costly taunting penalty on third down helped give the Rams an opening, leading to an immediate Puka Nacua touchdown. Cooper Kupp proved instrumental in the Seahawks' success, making key third-down conversions against his former team after the Rams organization reportedly urged other teams to lowball him in free agency (which we later cover in the Do Better segment). In the second half of the show, we look ahead to Super Bowl matchup against the New England Patriots. The Seahawks face a Drake Maye-led offense that excels under pressure but lacks some of the firepower of previous opponents. The franchise has a chance to exorcise demons from Super Bowl XLIX and claim the Lombardi Trophy on the 49ers' home turf in Santa Clara, completing one of the most unexpected and satisfying seasons in recent memory. 49ers legends assembled Tuesday night for the premier of a docu-series chronicling San Francisco's rise from NFL anonymity into a dynastic era of success marked by five Lombardi Trophies. On this episode of "49ers Talk," co-hosts Matt Maiocco and Jennifer Lee Chan discuss the impact San Francisco's golden era of the 80's and 90's has had on the organization, fanbase and league in general. The duo details how the current iteration of the 49ers can benefit from the foundation set by such transformative players and front office personnel. Matt and Jennifer later touch on former Patriots coach Bill Belichick's first-ballot Hall of Fame snub, and compare the 49ers to their division rivals who last week played in the NFC Championship and break down what steps San Francisco needs to take to match their dominance.--(0:00) Seahawks look like prohibitive Super Bowl LX favorites(2:30) Discussing three possible candidates to replace Saleh as DC(5:00) Where 49ers must improve after watching NFC West rivals thrive(15:00) Recapping fallout from ex-Patriots coach Bill Belichick's first-ballot HOF snub(30:00) Former 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo interview(33:00) Former 49ers general manager Carmen Policy interview(38:00) Joe Montana Interview(45:00) Steve Young Interview(51:00) Jerry Rice Interview Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. A listener drops an all time Minnesota classic: Vikings fans swear the Giants “cheated” in the 2000 NFC Championship by tapping into on field communications and knowing every play. The guys react in real time, pull up the old accusation, and then immediately do the obvious thing that ruins the conspiracy. They replay how that 41-0 game actually unfolded, how fast it became a bloodbath, and why “they stole our signals” sounds a lot like what people say when they cannot accept a historic beatdown. Tiki, who was on the team, shuts it down flat and explains why something like that would not stay secret in an NFL locker room. From there, the show pivots right back into New York pain with Jets calls. A fan admits it is getting harder and harder to defend the current direction, but also makes the point that firing coaches nonstop does not magically make the job more appealing. The guys break down the ugly truth: for the Jets, trust is only earned one way, winning, and everything else is just noise.
A son’s Instagram video went viral after he surprised his father who is recovering from a stroke with NFC Championship tickets. A Washington bill that would ban law enforcement from wearing face coverings has cleared its first hurdle. Legislators in Olympia also want to limit where ICE can operate. North Seattle businesses are dealing with a spate of break-ins. // Big Local: The suspect that has been targeting elderly victims in a string of robberies has been arrested by Tacoma Police. Washington lawmakers are considering a bill that would impose fines for blocking inspections of the Tacoma ICE facility. Travelers who don’t have REAL ID will soon have to pay a new fee. // You Pick the Topic: A teacher in the Chicago area has been put on leave for expressing support for ICE in a Facebook post.
Bump and Stacy break down whether the Seahawks defense got lucky in their NFC Championship win over the Rams, they give you their thoughts on Klint Kubiak’s future in the NFL and Patriots QB Drake Maye’s injury status in Headlines Rewrites, they ask if Mike Macdonald will be considered one of the best head coaching hires in the last five years if they win Super Bowl LX, and they hop aboard the Hype Train!
Bump, Stacy, and Dave Wyman are joined by Seahawks Linebacker Boye Mafe to get his thoughts on their NFC Championship win and his excitement to face the Patriots in Super Bowl LX, they dive into the success of the special teams unit with linebacker Patrick O’Connell, and they get into the trenches with Ray Roberts.
Bump and Stacy are joined by the voice of the Seahawks Steve Raible to look back on the NFC Championship win over the Rams, they hear what Seahawks GM John Schneider said about the success of the team in his press conference, they get the inside look at the Seahawks Super Bowl LX opponent from The Boston Globe’s Patriots reporter Ben Volin, and they wrap up the show with Seahawks reporter John Boyle.
The Seattle Seahawks punched their ticket to Super Bowl 60 with a 31-27 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship. We're breaking down the critical moments that swung the game. Kenneth Walker's bruising second-quarter run set the physical tone early. Maybe the turning point in the game came when rookie Nick Emmanwori delivered back-to-back pass breakups and forced a Rams punt. That helped to give Sam Darnold just enough time to march downfield and take a 17-13 halftime lead. Darnold's performance included a no-look pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba—the kind of throw typically reserved for Patrick Mahomes and Matthew Stafford. JSN's one-handed grab, a first-half reception through contact, and a deep catch to set up a touchdown, showcased why the Sam-to-JSN connection has become one of the league's most dangerous. We go through those moments, plus the favorite plays of the game from our flock. Join our Sea Hawkers Podcast Pickem League - free prizes for weekly winners. Support the show Get in the Flock! Recorded: January 26th 2026 | On this weeks Monday NFL Recap, Taylor is hitting this one by himself with help from the boys in the back. The boys recap the NFC and AFC Championship games from this past weekend. The first game was the New England Patriots traveling out to the Denver Broncos. The biggest question going into this game was how backup quarterback, Jarrett Stidham, was going to play. He ended up not playing that bad but the weather became more of an issue. The snow had a massive factor in that game which may have been why Drake Maye only threw for 86 yards. Taylor breaks down the game and how Mike Vrabel's coaching was an x-factor. Then the boys get into the NFC Championship where the Los Angeles Rams traveled up to the Seattle Seahawks for a rubber match between the division foes. This game was high flying with points being scored everywhere. Taylor believes that Sam Darnold has officially put the haters to rest as he threw for over 300 yards and 3 TDs. Jaxon Smith-Njigba had a massive game is basically unstoppable. Finally the boys give their Super Bowl predictions, the bus is divided on who they are riding with. Le us know in the comments who you are taking. Enjoy fellas. Jason explores whether Mike Vrabel, Mike Macdonald, Sam Darnold, and Drake Maye drove a stake into the heart of NFL black worship and idolatry. In the year of the black quarterback in professional football, white coaches paired with white quarterbacks dominated the NFL. Look no farther than Sunday's AFC and NFC Championships. Twelve NFL teams featured white QBs paired with white coaches. Of those 12, only the Cincinnati Bengals and Indianapolis Colts (with injured QBs), had a losing record. The combined regular-season record of those 12 teams was 134-70. Across football, it was a bad year for black racial idolatry. Deion Sanders went 3-9. Penn State fired James Franklin. Sherrone Moore torched his personal life and career at Michigan. Mike Tomlin exited Pittsburgh without a press conference and amid nasty rumors about his personal life. The regular-season win-loss record for black NFL QBs was embarrassing. And media race-baiters Stephen A. Smith, Cam Newton, Ryan Clark, Jemele Hill, and Josina Anderson made utter fools of themselves. Jason argues that "black culture" has baited too many black people to abandon winning Christian values for the losing values of racial idolatry. It's an amazing episode of "Fearless," with Steve Kim. RUNDOWN Mitch and Hotshot Scott react in real time to the Seahawks' thrilling NFC Championship victory over the Rams and the surreal reality of Seattle heading to Super Bowl 60 as betting favorites. They reflect on preseason expectations, the emotional weight of surviving the Rams for a third time, and why this team feels like it's peaking at exactly the right moment. The segment also veers into classic Mitch Unfiltered trivia, from Alberta, Canada connections to Michael J. Fox and iconic musicians, before setting the table for a Super Bowl-centric week ahead. Ray Roberts breaks down why the Seahawks' NFC Championship victory over the Rams wasn't luck, but proof of a fully connected, resilient team built to withstand chaos and pressure. He explains how Seattle survived defensive breakdowns, Riq Woolen's near-disastrous penalty, and Matthew Stafford's efficiency by leaning on internal leadership, timely stops, and Sam Darnold's poise in the biggest game of his career. Brady Henderson and Jacson Bevens break down how the Seahawks survived another wild showdown with the Rams, praising Mike Macdonald's evolving brilliance and the team's collective resilience under pressure. The discussion highlights Sam Darnold's career-defining performance, late-game heroics from Devin Witherspoon and Nick Emmanwori, and the near-disastrous Riq Woolen penalty that could've changed Seattle sports history. Rick Neuheisel breaks down Indiana's shocking national championship run, explaining why Kurt Cignetti's rapid rebuild deserves historic praise despite the modern NIL and transfer landscape. The Dynasty Nerds crew is back with their monthly Risers and Fallers episode, and the conversation got heated. Rich Dotson, Garret Price, and Jagger May debated which players are climbing the dynasty rankings and which ones are plummeting after the AFC and NFC Championship games. Trevor Lawrence topped the risers list as the unanimous number one. With Liam Coen's offense and a loaded receiving corps, Rich declared him an elite dynasty asset at just 26 years old. Jaxson Dart landed at number two, with John Harbaugh bringing stability to the Giants and Malik Nabers returning from injury. Colston Loveland rounded out the top three, cementing himself as a top five tight end after his playoff breakout. On the falling side, CJ Stroud was the unanimous number one faller. Rich went on a legendary rant, calling him overvalued for years and predicting he could slide even further when the elite 2027 quarterback class arrives. JJ McCarthy and Zach Charbonnet also took hits, with McCarthy facing competition rumors and Charbonnet dealing with a devastating ACL injury.
