Serving in Special Operations doesn't require special abilities or superhuman powers. It requires an adherence to a standard that most people don't have the discipline to enforce. In our first long-form episode at Sandlot Jax and the GORUCK Games, Host Fran Racioppi sat down with Josh Bridges, Former Navy SEAL, Crossfit Athlete, Creator of the Pay Him fitness program and Founder of Good Dudes Coffee. Josh and Fran talk the importance of not putting goals on pedestals; training not until you get it right, but until you can't get it wrong; how the fear of failure or inability to do something motivated Josh to train harder and with more focus; and the difference between training hard and training to win. Josh shares his entrepreneurial adventure into the coffee business with Good Dudes Coffee. In partnership with Jaguar Land Rover of Fairfield and The Readiness Collective who provided the WWII British Royal Air Force Land Rover Ambulance Podcast Studio. Read the full episode transcription here and learn more on The Jedburgh Podcast Website. Check out our video versions on YouTube.Highlights:-How college wrestling prepared Josh for the Navy SEALs and instilled in him a sense of discipline and work ethic. -Lacking direction and losing himself during his college years resulted in Josh quitting athletics and becoming a loan officer.-Josh reminisces about knowing nothing about the Navy SEALS growing up and the importance of not putting goals on a pedestal that becomes too high to reach. -There is nothing special about being special forces. Becoming a Navy SEAL or competing at the highest levels is not due to superpowers or superhuman capability; it comes down to hard work, discipline and drive. -Josh talks about the need to enjoy the process it takes to prepare ourselves to achieve a result and the discipline needed to train until you can't get it wrong. -Josh launched Good Dudes coffee with the intent to “go pro” by providing a high quality product with good people doing cool things. Quotes:-”Wrestling was a demanding sport. I always said college wrestling was harder than BUDS.” -”He was like ‘I'm going to go be a Navy SEAL' and I was like ‘what's that?'”-”Lesser men than you have come and gone and made it through this course; so why can't you?”-“It's a mindset going into it. If that guy can do it, so can I.”-“You attained your goal…great..now go do the hard work…now you have to keep it.” -”I trained so much harder than I knew the competition would be, so that when competition came there was never even a question.”-”Sweat in training so you don't have to bleed in war.”-”If you don't enjoy the process, the process that takes you to those places, you're never going to get to those places anyway.”-”I'm not gonna do it until I get it right. I'm gonna do it until I can't get it wrong.”-”Winners work really really hard and think they didn't do enough.”-”People who are awesome, doing awesome stuff out there, and they like really good coffee.”This episode is brought to you by Jersey Mike's, 18A Fitness, and Analytix Solutions.

UFC Fight Night: Santos vs Ankalaev recap, plus interviews with Drew Dober and CrossFit athlete Josh Bridges Jim overcomes a bad night of sleep to recap all the action from UFC Fight Night: Santos vs Ankalaev with Matt on today's episode of UFC Unfiltered! First, CrossFit athlete and former Navy SEAL Josh Bridges makes his UFC Unfiltered debut. He shares how excited he is to see Michael Chandler face off against Tony Ferguson at UFC 274, details the many hardships he faced during "Hell Week" while in the Navy, and opens up about his boxing match against a fellow CrossFit athlete last year. Then, after Jim rudely ignores a joke by Matt, Drew Dober calls in after his first-round TKO win against Terrance McKinney over the weekend. Drew delves into why he was more excited for his bout with McKinney than with his originally scheduled opponent, how he recovered after nearly getting knocked out in the opening seconds of the fight, and why he called out Bobby Green in his post-fight interview. He also offers his perspective on his encounter with Matt at 2 A.M. after UFC 268 at Madison Square Garden. Jim and Matt close the show with their stand-out moments from UFC Fight Night: Santos vs Ankalaev, including Song Yadong's first-round knockout against Marlon Moraes and Khalil Rountree's emphatic TKO victory over Karl Roberson. After early success in his wrestling career, it was during his college years that he lost sight of who he was and what motivated him. It was during these dark times where Josh was introduced to the Navy SEALs and the catalyst that would get him fit enough to join their ranks, CrossFit. Once Josh had envisioned becoming a SEAL there was absolutely no turning back. Training harder than ever before, he overcame numerous hurdles to earn his trident and walk amongst the planet's elite. During his time in the SEALs, Josh still trained harder than ever to accomplish another lofty goal of competing in the CrossFit Games. Balancing the grind of serving his country, he managed to do what he set out to and took 2nd place in the 2011 CrossFit Games, thus catapulting his name into the limelight in the world of competitive fitness. Known for his fiery antics and passionate roars of satisfaction when crossing the finish line after a job well done, he has gone on to compete at the CrossFit Games six times, winning multiple events and regionals along the way. Josh's approach to mental preparation has long been sought after and he could not be more excited to help anyone from all walks of life to become the best version of themselves.

Three-time PGA Tour winner Scott Stallings has been a professional golfer since 2010. Despite turning in successful performances on green, off the course, Scott struggled with sleep, excess weight, and lack of energy, all compounded by a grueling travel schedule. He finally decided enough was enough and made a huge lifestyle overhaul. He worked with a physician to address hormone imbalances and to correct a sinus problem that was causing sleep apnea. He cleaned up his diet, incorporated CrossFit into his training regimen, and developed strategies to stay on track even though his career has him on the road more days than he is home. To date, Scott has lost over 40 pounds and has improved his lab markers substantially. In this episode, he shares the steps he's taken to get in the best shape of his life, and the motivation behind this huge transformation.
