The Ballad of Wallis Island and how he managed to get Carey Mulligan on board, plus Richard's impressive roster of unreleased film appearances, plus Tim's latest book of poetry, an hilarious but poignant and moving story of his time in Hollywood and the influence of Charles Bukowski. There is a 10 minute discussion about Tim's love for Last of the Summer Wine, which suggest he doesn't love it as much as he claims and of course another episode of timkey the monkey and his magic flute. Plus Tim suggests a guest that will have Off Menu quaking in their boots and eating dinosaurs.Buy Tim's book here https://www.utterandpress.co.uk/products/l-a-babySee RHLSTP live in Sheffield and at the Edinburgh Fringe http://richardherring.com/rhlstpSee RHLSTP live http://richardherring.com/rhlstpSUPPORT THE SHOW!Watch our TWITCH CHANNELSee extra content at our WEBSITE Become a member at https://plus.acast.com/s/rhlstp. They chat about growing up gay in a small town in the Welsh valleys in the late 80s and how that inspired this story, about how simplicity in writing can be incredibly complex, swirling around in cesspits of your own making, the tabloid reaction to homosexuality and how that is mirrored in today's world, how a room above a shop becomes an escape and a place of freedom and how to stop the author intruding on the story. Book Club #125 - The Peepshow - Dip My Brain In Joy - Richard chats to Yvonne Innes about her fabulous and moving book about her fabulous husband, Neil Innes, Dip My Brain In Joy. They talk about Neil's amazing and wide-ranging career, his freewheeling personality which may not have made him the greatest businessman, but probably meant he had a lot more fun and joy in his life, the wide range of his work from the Bonzos to Raggy Dolls to the Idiot Bastard Band, the various disputes and fallings out that scuppered some of his projects, getting paid by Oasis and Rich failing to say hello when they got in and out of the same taxi in Melbourne.Buy the book here - https://uk.bookshop.org/p/books/dip-my-brain-in-joy-my-life-with-neil-innes-the-official-biography-yvonne-innes/7695395?ean=9781785121692Come to a RHLSTP live! - https://richardherring.com/rhlstp Become a member at https://plus.acast.com/s/rhlstp.
