WHO KILLED ROBERT WONE? with Jared P. Scott Director and Executive Producer! On the night of August 2, 2006, Victor Zaborsky calls 911 to report an intruder stabbing a friend at the D.C. home he shares with Joe Price and Dylan Ward. First responders arrive to find attorney Robert Wone already dead in the guest room. With little blood at the scene and no signs of struggle or robbery, suspicions heighten after police interview the three housemates. Believing the men know more than they are revealing, the investigation soon uncovers more questions than answers. Unthinkable twists and turns surface, leaving friends questioning how well they knew the three men and police struggling to nail down answers. Ultimately, prosecutors bring an unusual set of charges against the three residents -- but not for murder. As Price, Zaborsky and Ward maintain their innocence and fight to clear their names, those close to Robert seek the truth and try to heal from unimaginable loss. www.brettallanshow.com Got some feedback?
In this first episode of a two part retrospective, I'm joined by my Perth muso friends Jeremy (of Segue) and Laurent (of Catwalk) (both also of Didion's Bible) to discuss the music of Arcade Fire and how their first two albums (Funeral, 2004 and Neon Bible, 2007) tap into the zeitgeist of 2000s Americana and its changing socio-economic landscape. Topics of discussion include the band's preoccupation with nostalgia and innocence; their grappling with a post 9/11 and pre GFC U.S. (where the American dream seems to be well and truly in tatters); and their growing sense of technologically induced paranoia. Next week, we look to The Suburbs (2010) and beyond... Closing music 'I get it', courtesy of Segue.

SYNOPSIS The Hurt Locker meets An Inconvenient Truth, THE AGE OF CONSEQUENCES investigates the impacts of climate change on increased resource scarcity, migration, and conflict through the lens of US national security and global stability. Through unflinching case-study analysis, distinguished admirals, generals and military veterans take us beyond the headlines of the conflict in Syria, the social unrest of the Arab Spring, the rise of radicalized groups like ISIS, and the European refugee crisis – and lay bare how climate change stressors interact with societal tensions, sparking conflict. Whether a long-term vulnerability or sudden shock, the film unpacks how water and food shortages, drought, extreme weather, and sea-level rise function as ‘accelerants of instability’ and ‘catalysts for conflict’ in volatile regions of the world. These Pentagon insiders make the compelling case that if we go on with business as usual, the consequences of climate change – waves of refugees, failed states, terrorism – will continue to grow in scale and frequency, with grave implications for peace and security in the 21st century. The film’s unnerving assessment is by no means reason for fatalism – but instead a call to action torethink how we use and produce energy. As in any military defense and security strategy, time is our most precious resource.
