Jian Ghomeshi is a Canadian musician, writer, and former CBC radio broadcaster.  Part of the horizon of the arts in Canada for over thirty years.  A celebrated Juno nominee, and a Gemini winner for his radio broadcast "Q - Wtih Jian Ghomeshi."  Anyone who is anyone sat across from Jian to be interviewed and many, even performed live in his studio.  Jian is embroiled in the biggest sexual assault trail in the history of Canadian broadcasting.  In front of the mic he is kind, charismatic and very charming, behind closed doors he is a man struggling with demons of never belonging, and never being good enough.  A private mans very personal and sexual identity is waved through the media by multiple women who have remained silent for so long.  The real question is twofold , how did so many people know and not act on the insights they had?  How did Canada's public broadcaster not respond to issues that were brought to them by women who claimed it was "hell" working in the "Q" offices?    ***PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THIS EPISODE HAS CONTENT THAT MAY DISTURB SOME LISTENERS*** Additional information can be found on my website here: Writing About Crime  Support my patreon to get early episodes, and special information about upcoming projects: www.patreon.com/writingaboutcrime Social media and contact information: Visit: Wining About CrimeFacebook page: Wining About Crime on FacebookFacebook group: The Wining About Crime Facebook GroupTwitter: @CrimeWinerInstagram: Wining About Crime InstagramEmail:  winingaboutcrime@gmail.com Credits:Additional information can be found on my website here: Wining About CrimeResearch and writing: Bonnie Lee   Podcasts to enjoy: Beyond Bizarre True Crime Curious AF Podcast   Special shout out’s and thank you’s to the special ones: Lacey Rowe of the Curious AF Podcast. Whitby, Ontario is in southeastern Ontario and is what we would consider a suburb of Toronto. The name is Danish and means "White Village." The original surveyor of the area chose the town names here from towns in northeastern England, so Whitby is named for the seaport in Yorkshire. Camp 30 was an urban explorers playground with several abandoned, crumbling buildings just waiting to be explored. This was a former school for delinquent boys and World War II prisoner-of-war camp that housed Nazis. While things were good for the prisoners, life at the school for the boys was horrible and several died. This has left behind some spiritual residue. The Whitby Psychiatric Hospital was run like many of the asylums in America. Abuses and deaths here seem to have led to hauntings. The Centennial Building is a former courthouse that now seems to be a haunted theater. The Trafalgar Castle School is built to look like a castle and just like so many castles, it seems to be home to some spirits. Join us and Karen Wickiam, host of the STAT podcast, as we look at several locations in Whitby, Ontario that have a reputation for being haunted! The Moment in Oddity features Hypha Tombicina makes mummies and This Month in History features Mary Jane Kelly killed by Jack the Ripper.
