Episode 223: The Weight of Truth in a Culture of Death In this sobering episode, we confront the devastating reality of a legal system and society that has severely degraded its understanding of morality. We discuss the harrowing recent case out of Georgia, where a 31-year-old woman intentionally took a massive dose of abortion pills at roughly 24 weeks. Tragically, the baby was born alive, struggled to breathe in the hospital, and ultimately died, all while the mother explicitly told medical staff, "I know my infant is suffering... I want her to die". Yet, in a shocking display of systemic failure, the presiding judge called the murder charge "extremely problematic" and set the bond at a mere $1. This overwhelming "culture of death" brings to mind the dark legacy of Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell. We reflect on the grotesque reality of Gosnell's clinic, his conviction for murdering babies born alive by severing their spinal cords, and the unsettling injustice that he was allowed the dignity to recently die of old age in prison. We examine how these two deeply distressing cases are connected by a broken society that refuses to protect the most vulnerable. This is a heavy and difficult listen, but sitting under the weight of this truth is a necessary step to combating evil. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus Christian ministries to send millions of Bibles into Iran Christian ministries are gearing up to send millions of Bibles into Iran.  The country's Islamic regime persecutes Christians for sharing their faith or even privately owning a Bible. However, Bible smuggling teams are praying for new doors to open despite the war. Dirk Smith, Vice President at Eastern European Mission, spoke to CBN News. He compared this moment in Iran to the opportunity right before the Berlin Wall came down in 1989. Listen. SMITH: “Our prayer is that we're prepared. We're ready to go. And that was what happened when the wall came down in 89 the opportunity came, and when we pray, God will open those doors. That's what happened when the wall came down with the Soviet Union, we were able to walk in and distribute hundreds of thousands  of Bibles.” In Colossians 4:2-3, the Apostle Paul wrote, “Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ.” Iran rejected peace deal with America Iran rejected a peace plan from the United States yesterday to pause the war in the Middle East. The conflict began nearly a month ago when the U.S. and Israel carried out strikes on the country. The Associated Press reports the death toll has reached over 1,500 people in Iran, over 1,000 in Lebanon, 16 in Israel, and 13 U.S. military members.  The U.S. is sending more troops to the region in what could become a ground assault.  U.S. Supreme Court rules for Mississippi street preacher In the United States, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of a street preacher last Friday. Gabriel Olivier is an evangelical Christian who desires to share his faith with others. OLIVIER: “I was arrested outside of a concert amphitheater arena for preaching the Gospel on a public sidewalk.” However, the City of Brandon, Mississippi passed an ordinance to effectively silence his evangelism. Sadly, lower courts sided with the city. He even faced arrest under the ordinance.  The Supreme Court's ruling now allows Olivier to go back to trial in the lower courts to challenge the city ordinance.  He celebrated the ruling. OLIVIER: “The Supreme Court has ruled unanimously, 9-0 in our favor. And I just wanted to say thank you to first and foremost, the Lord, for answering our prayers. I also thank you for First Liberty, for representing me, helping me along the way, and doing such a great job. Thank you to all those who support First Liberty with your donations. That is a wonderful contribution to help the case of religious freedom here in our nation.” He added, "Now all people with deeply held Christian religious beliefs who are called to share the Good News can do so in the public arena.” Psalm 119:46 says, “I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.” Late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell, who killed born babies, died The infamous abortionist Kermit Gosnell  died at a hospital earlier this month, according to prison officials in Pennsylvania. He was 85. Gosnell was serving three life sentences for killing three babies -- after they were born alive. Shockingly, after complete delivery, Gosnell would jab scissors into the back of a baby's neck and then cut the baby's spinal cord. Gosnell called the killing of these children “snipping.”  Steven Massof, a former Gosnell employee, said the so-called “snipping” is really “like a beheading,” reported the Baptist Press. Gosnell likely killed thousands of babies in this manner. So far, we've found over 30 of them. [aborted babies in the abortion mill]. A healthy woman goes into a clinic, comes out dead, and there's no police report?” COURT OFFICIAL: “Prosecution has offered you a plea bargain, Dr Gosnell.” GOSNELL: “Then I would have to admit I was guilty. I'm not guilty!” PROESECUTOR: “When was the last time your division inspected Dr. Gosnell's [abortion] clinic?” INSPECTOR: “We had instructions, directly from [Republican] Governor [Tom] Ridge's office, not to inspect.” NURSE LEXY McGUIRE: “Nothing that man did protects women or children. And you don't have to be a pro-life activist to see that.” DISTRICT ATTORNEY DAN MOLINARI: “Kermit Gosnell is perhaps the most prolific serial killer in American history. You better win!” Watch the trailer for the movie “Gosnell.” Proverbs 6:16-19 describes the seven things that God hates, including “hands that shed innocent blood.” Maria Gallagher, executive director of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation, told LifeNews, “We continue to grieve the loss of the babies and women who fell victim to Gosnell's violent crime spree. And we hold out hope that the lessons learned from Gosnell's reign of terror will not be forgotten.” Democrats won special election in Florida Democrats won a special election on Tuesday in South Florida. Democrat Emily Gregory defeated Republican Jon Maples to win the state House District 87 seat. She won by only 800 votes or about two percentage points.  The district is home to President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence.  The Associated Press reports, “Gregory's victory is the latest example of how Democrats have flipped seats in a series of special elections that could be a sign of momentum in a midterm election year that will provide a political verdict on Trump's second term.” Christians are weak on abortion, marriage and family And finally, Dr. George Barna released his latest report on the worldview of Americans. Notably, the majority of U.S. adults—ranging from 68% to 82%—lack Biblical alignment in essential areas of worldview beliefs and behaviors. This is even more common among younger generations.  The weakest worldview category for Americans, even committed Christians, is social issues such as marriage, family, and the sanctity of life. Dr. Barna noted, “Very few adults presently own a biblical worldview. Kermit Gosnell, the abortionist and serial killer who butchered and killed women and babies for 30 years, has died in prison.We broke the story in our Substack (linked below) on Monday, and we have devoted all of this week's podcast to covering his life and crimes and honoring his victims. It's an important story.We knew Gosnell well. We covered his trial in Philadelphia, interviewed him in prison, and had dozens of jailhouse phone calls while researching the book, podcast, and movie we produced about his life and crimes.Gosnell was convicted in 2013 of murdering three infants born alive during illegal late-term abortions, whom he then killed by cutting their spinal cords with scissors. Gosnell was also found guilty of killing 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar, a refugee from Bhutan who died from a lethal overdose of anesthesia administered by unlicensed staff in his abortion clinic.When he died, Ann released a statement about meeting and talking with the monster that was Kermit Gosnell:“It was tough but it was a very, very important piece of journalism. Meeting Gosnell was one of the few times in my journalism career that I felt I was face to face with evil.“Gosnell is gone, but we should take time to think of the thousands of innocent babies who were his victims. They lived for a short period of time but must not be forgotten. They achieved some measure of justice with Gosnell's prosecution and incarceration.“I think in particular of Baby Boy A, who was so big that even Gosnell's workers were shocked by the barbarity of his killing and took a photo of him after he was murdered. He shook their hardened hearts. Baby Boy A lived for about an hour before he was killed. The picture of him curled up in a Tupperware container helped seal Gosnell's fate and ensured he'd never kill again. That heartbreaking picture has also meant that I'm not the only one who will never forget Baby Boy A.“I'm also thinking of the two women who needlessly died in Gosnell's diabolical clinic. Karnamaya Mongar, who came to this country as a refugee after living a life of danger in Bhutan. She came to America for refuge but four months later was dead at the hands of Gosnell.“And Semika Shaw, the young Black mother who tragically died after a botched abortion at the hands of Kermit Gosnell.“Their deaths were also caused because of bureaucratic incompetence and the liberal political imperative to shield abortion and abortionists from criticism.“These women were sacrificed for Progressive politics. Karnamaya Mongar and Semika Shaw were minorities in a city that claimed to care. It turns out Black Lives didn't Matter after all.”This week, we look at the life and crimes of Kermit Gosnell with the man who put him behind bars. [SEGMENT 1-1] Pardons 1 - Schiff Democrats are jumping ship, running for the hills, scurrying down their rat holes. For a group that acts so holier than thou, they sure seem scared. Welcome… If I haven't done anything wrong, I'm cool as a polar bears butt.   Does anybody really believe that Adam Schiff doesn't want a preemptive pardon? That's what he claims, and that's what he said. But he didn't say he doesn't want a pardon—he just doesn't want a preemptive one. That's like saying, “I'm not going to eat the cake right now… but leave it on the counter. Just in case.”  [SEGMENT 1-2] Pardons 2 -Schiff Schiff conveniently leaked this morsel during an interview with George Stephanopoulos, another maestro of moral posturing. Stephanopoulos—whose journalistic credibility is rivaled only by his ability to sidestep Clinton-era scandals—asked Schiff if he thought Trump might prosecute members of the Jan. 6 committee. “We don't need pardons because we're proud of our work.” Schiff replied. Oh, really? Proud of the committee's work? Work that included hiding exculpatory evidence, cherry-picking videos, and pushing a narrative so flimsy it makes Biden's staircase skills look stable? Schiff has claimed that pardons set a bad precedent. And well, Shifty can't have his reputation impugned with the specter of a pardon. Who could blame him though for not wanting a pardon from Biden. That's one complete list of scoundrels. Clearly, Shifty wants us to know that he's got principles. He likes his pardon served fresh, not pre-packaged. The Benny Hill Moment Here's where the comedy ramps up. While Schiff was pretending to be the virtuous hero of this melodrama, Rep. Bennie Thompson, the former Jan. 6 committee chair, was busy saying, “Sure, I'd take a preemptive pardon!” He even called it Biden's prerogative. Prerogative? Sure. But the moment you accept a pardon, you're basically hanging a neon “I'm guilty” sign around your neck. This brings us to Adam Kinzinger, Schiff's ex-committee buddy, who once declared, “The only reason I know to ask for a pardon is you think you committed a crime.” [X] SB – Kinzinger on pardons Adam Kinzinger in 2022: “The only reason to ask for a pardon is because you think you've committed a crime.” https://t.co/0R5WDrIu0c — Natalie Winters (@nataliegwinters) https://twitter.com/nataliegwinters/status/1867550759325253899?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw   Kinzinger's words aged like a room-temperature tuna sandwich. Maybe these two need to get with Bennie Johnson before they lock in their final answers. The Insurrection That Wasn't Let's not forget why Schiff and his crew are squirming in the first place. The Jan. 6 narrative was their crown jewel—a supposed coup attempt that turned out to be more of a Capitol-themed field trip. When the footage finally emerged, it didn't show rampaging hordes. Instead, we watched patriots meandering through the Capital as if it were The Louvre. One guy even stopped to straighten some papers. That's the Left's big insurrection, that they compared to the Civil War and the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor. They called Trump treasonous in his non-actions. But speaking of treason, Schiff's team conveniently deleted mountains of data related to their “findings.” How many guesses do you need to understand why? Their accusations against Trump and the protesters wouldn't survive a light breeze, let alone real Department of Justice scrutiny. Schiff's Private Pardon Chat with Biden While Schiff claims he doesn't need a pardon, he spoke with Biden for exactly that reason. The two discussed J6, because Joe Biden is planning to pardon the entire committee. Because they are guilty.  Why would Stephanopoulos even broach the subject, if this weren't a reasonable consideration.  The January 6 Committee was a total farce. The people selectively chosen. After their kangaroo court investigation, they reported what they were told to report. In truth, they lied about evidence. Then, they buried exonerating footage for years. Now they have their media minions running interference for them. For years, Schiff painted Trump as the villain of democracy. But now, he's the one looking for a legal life raft. The irony is thicker than Hunter Biden's tax evasion file. Nobody believes Schiff doesn't want a pardon. Doublespeak about as convincing as Bill Clinton's wedding vows.[SEGMENT 1-3] Pardons 3   “From Drug Lords to Fraudsters: Biden's Clemency Chaos”   Joe Biden's “Clemency Circus”: Pardon Deals for the Devil's Rolodex When Joe Biden issued a record-setting number of clemencies, it wasn't exactly a roll call of reformed citizens who turned their lives around knitting scarves or mentoring troubled youth. Instead, the list reads more like a casting call for the next season of Narcos—drug traffickers, cartel associates, and financial fraudsters were all given an early Christmas gift. If Biden's clemency roster were a party, you'd better wear a bulletproof vest.Biden's “Hall of Shame” Pardons: The Hypocrisy Chronicles   Who are they? Various state-level and federal officials involved in bribery, fraud, and general misuse of office. Who are they? Financial criminals who engaged in insider trading or hedge fund mismanagement, causing economic ripples.   Francesk Shkambi: The Albanian Cocaine Kingpin- Backstory: Convicted in 2014 for running a criminal enterprise that trafficked massive quantities of cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and Ecstasy across continents. This wasn't a small-time operation; Shkambi was arranging shipments from Mexico to Europe and everywhere in between.- Clemency Twist: Set https://casetext.com/case/united-states-v-shkambi-7 in 2029, Biden decided Shkambi deserved a six-year head start on his freedom.- Irony Meter: Biden promised transparency, yet pardoned a man with international drug-trafficking ties. What's next? Hunter Biden's laptop gets a TV movie deal titled Breaking Dad?- Who are they? Former drug offenders turned advocates for reform who have, in some cases, exploited loopholes to sell unregulated products under “wellness” branding.- Why it's controversial: While their clemency reflects Biden's softer approach to drugs, critics wonder if these gestures are meant to whitewash his role in passing the 1994 Crime Bill.- Irony Meter: Medium. Biden's old slogan was “Tough on crime.” But not if it involves drugs his son uses routinely.  Jose Valdez: The Highway Drug Mogul- Backstory: From 2015 to 2016, Valdez coordinated the distribution of large-scale cocaine and marijuana shipments across the U.S., recruiting accomplices like a college frat president recruiting for rush week. Jose Valdez, whose sentence Biden commuted, “coordinated the distribution of large quantities of cocaine and marijuana for a drug-trafficking organization based in El Paso, Texas, from March of 2015 through July of 2016,” per court https://casetext.com/case/valdez-v-united-states-47?q=%2290547-380%22&sort=relevance&p=1&type=case&tab=keyword&jxs=.- Valdez also “recruited numerous individuals to deliver narcotics to cities throughout the United States.” His scheduled release date was previously set for November 2026, according to the BOP.- Clemency Twist: Originally set for release in 2026, Valdez is now free to expand his operations... or maybe start a podcast about his time inside.- Irony Meter: While Democrats rail against the opioid crisis, Biden sets the table for cocaine's unofficial comeback tour.[SEGMENT X-4] Pardons 4   I mentioned a few of the near-do-wells that Biden pardoned… Old Habits Die Hard: The Biden Family Business Parallel Is anyone surprised? The Biden family's social circle looks like a rogues' gallery of bad decisions. Between Hunter's laptop escapades and James Biden's dubious deals, it's as if the Bidens have been preparing for their own Godfather reboot. Biden's pardon pen seems to cater to his brand: shady characters and questionable business ventures. Remember, none of the Biden family ventures turned a profit. Even their “friends” seem to wind up in prison—or worse, working as political consultants.   Meera Sach: Diluted Chemo Doctor Biden commuted the prison sentence of Meera Sachdeva, a cancer doctor who gave diluted chemo drugs to patients as part of an $8 million Medicare fraud. But Sachdeva didn't stop there. She also re-used old needles, leading to a lawsuit by a patient who claimed he contracted HIV. The list of scoundrels didn't stop there. Check out this next character. Mark Ciavarella: The Kids-for-Cash Judge The most egregious hypothetical pardon would be Mark Ciavarella, the disgraced Pennsylvania judge who took bribes to send juveniles to for-profit detention centers. While he hasn't received clemency (yet), it wouldn't be a shocker. After all, Biden pardoned individuals convicted of crimes against children. The irony here is thicker than Hunter's laptop encryption. Pardoning him would be like nominating the Kermit Gosnell for a humanitarian award. Irony Meter: Through the roof. A president who talks about “protecting the children” yet opens the gates for their abuser? In the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, there were three lies told about abortion. Guest host Adam McManus addresses all three with Sue Liebel, the State Affairs Director for Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America. Plus, you'll hear the audio clips of all three. LIE #1: Abortions don't happen in the ninth month of pregnancy. Kamala Harris falsely claimed, “Nowhere in America is a woman carrying a pregnancy to term and asking for an abortion. That is not happening; it's insulting to the women of America.” Truth: Abortion is legal for any reason up to birth in ten states and DC. Abortion is legal through nine months of pregnancy for any reason in ten states plus D.C. Those states are Alaska, California, Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, and Vermont. LIE #2: There is no state in which “abortion after birth” is legal. At one point, debate moderator Linsey Davis inappropriately jumped in to debate Trump, telling him, “There is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it's born.” She is incorrect! Truth: “After-birth abortion” or infanticide does occur, and 15 states allow it. These 15 states allow infanticide: Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Utah, and Vermont. That's why Marjorie Dannenfelser, the President of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, sent a letter to ABC demanding a correction. In 2019, then-Senator Kamala Harris voted against the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires abortionists to provide potentially lifesaving care to babies born during botched abortions.  In addition, just because it is illegal in many states to kill a newborn baby does not mean it is not happening and that abortion advocates don't support it. Pennsylvania abortionist Kermit Gosnell is in prison currently for actively killing babies who survived his abortion procedures. LIE #3: Pro-life laws make it “criminal” for a doctor to provide health care for women who have miscarriages. During the debate, Kamala Harris falsely claimed, “Over 20 Trump abortion bans make it criminal for a doctor or nurse to provide health care. In one state, it provides prison for life. I have talked with women around our country. You want to talk about, ‘This is what people wanted?' Pregnant women who want to carry a pregnancy to term suffering from a miscarriage being denied care in an emergency room because the health care providers are afraid they might go to jail and she's bleeding out in a car in the parking lot. She didn't want that. Her husband didn't want that.” Truth: No pro-life law prohibits legitimate health care. This program includes: 1. In 2013, in the USA Kermit Gosnell, was being tried on counts of murdering children born alive in illegal late-term abortions at his unsanitary practise in Philadelphia. Dr Trevor Stammers is a Christian former GP who refused to personally refer women for abortion. Dr Evan Harris is a former Liberal Democrat MP and atheist who believes that women should have the choice to terminate their pregnancy.
