“When a patient comes in for a routine outpatient echo, we’ll be able to help with diagnosis and reduce the misdiagnosis at that point, number one,” Ultromics’ Founder and CEO Ross Upton explains to Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Matt Henriksson about the initial benefits of EchoGo for heart failure and cardiac amyloidosis. In this episode of the Vanguards of Health Care podcast, Upton also delves into the future of diagnosing and treating heart failure with artificial intelligence, saying it can additionally “really accurately phenotype them, and so the clinician would understand after the echo is done what treatments or what next diagnostic tests the patient needs, and they would understand it there and then without having to go through and try and figure out the pieces of the puzzle.” Also tune in to learn how Ultromics plans to use to recently announced Series C financing as it commercializes EchoGo for heart failure and cardiac amyloidosis.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

ThreatLocker to Unveil Game-Changing Zero Trust Innovations at Black Hat 2025 | Visit Them at Booth #1933 | A ThreatLocker Pre-Event Coverage of Black Hat USA 2025 Las Vegas | Brand Story with John LillistonJoin ITSP Magazine's Marco Ciappelli and Sean Martin as they preview ThreatLocker's exciting Black Hat 2025 presence with Detect Product Director John Lilliston. Discover upcoming major announcements, hands-on hacking demos, and how ThreatLocker's default deny approach is revolutionizing enterprise cybersecurity through comprehensive zero trust implementation. As Black Hat USA 2025 approaches, cybersecurity professionals are gearing up for one of the industry's most anticipated events. ITSP Magazine's Marco Ciappelli and Sean Martin recently sat down with John Lilliston, ThreatLocker's Detect Product Director, to preview what promises to be an exciting showcase of zero trust innovation at booth 1933.ThreatLocker has become synonymous with the "default deny" security approach, a philosophy that fundamentally changes how organizations protect their digital assets. Unlike traditional security models that allow by default and block known threats, ThreatLocker's approach denies everything by default and allows only approved applications, network communications, and storage operations. This comprehensive strategy operates across application, network, and storage levels, creating what Lilliston describes as a "hardened system that stops adversaries in their tracks."The company's rapid growth reflects the industry's embrace of zero trust principles, moving beyond buzzword status to practical, enterprise-ready solutions. Lilliston, who joined ThreatLocker in February after evaluating their products from the enterprise side, emphasizes how the platform's learning mode and ring fencing capabilities set it apart from competitors in the application control space. At Black Hat 2025, ThreatLocker will demonstrate their defense-in-depth strategy through their Detect product line. While their primary zero trust controls rarely fail, Detect provides crucial monitoring for applications that must run in enterprise environments but may have elevated risk profiles. The system can automatically orchestrate responses to threats, such as locking down browsers exhibiting irregular behavior that might indicate data exfiltration attempts.Visitors to booth 1933 can expect hands-on demonstrations and on-demand hacking scenarios that showcase real-world applications of ThreatLocker's technology. The company is preparing major announcements that CEO Danny Houlihan will reveal during the event, promising game-changing developments for both the organization and its client base.ThreatLocker's Black Hat agenda includes a welcome reception on Tuesday, August 5th, from 7-10 PM at the Mandalay Bay Complex, and Houlihan's presentation on "Simplifying Cybersecurity" on Thursday, August 7th, from 10:15-11:05 AM at Mandalay Bay J.The convergence of practical zero trust implementation, cutting-edge threat detection, and automated response capabilities positions ThreatLocker as a key player in the evolving cybersecurity landscape, making their Black Hat presence essential viewing for security professionals seeking comprehensive protection strategies. Keywords: Black Hat 2025, zero trust security, cybersecurity conference, ThreatLocker, default deny strategy, endpoint protection, application control, threat detection, enterprise security, network security, cybersecurity solutions, security automation, malware prevention, cyber threats, information security, security platform, Black Hat USA, cybersecurity innovation, managed detection response, security operationsLearn more about ThreatLocker: https://itspm.ag/threatlocker-r974Note: This story contains promotional content.Learn more.Guests:John LillistonCybersecurity Director | Threat Detection & Response | SOC Leadership | DFIR | EDR/XDR Strategy | GCFA, GISP | https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-lilliston-4725217b/Hosts:Sean Martin, Co-Founder at ITSPmagazine | Website: https://www.seanmartin.comMarco Ciappelli, Co-Founder at ITSPmagazine | Website: https://www.marcociappelli.com______________________ResourcesLearn more and catch more stories from ThreatLocker: https://www.itspmagazine.com/directory/threatlockerThreatLocker® Welcome Reception | Don't gamble with your security! You check into your hotel room and notice a suspicious blinking light on your big TV. Could it be that someone is watching you, or have you just seen too many spy movies? Hidden cameras come in all shapes and sizes. Large ones are easy to spot, but the small ones can be really sneaky and inconspicuous. They can be hiding behind furniture, in decorations or vents, and anywhere else you'll have trouble noticing - but you can do it if you know some secrets. “Detection is not the end—it's just the beginning.” — Jerry Mancini, NETSCOUT In this episode of Technology Reseller News, Publisher Doug Green speaks with Jerry Mancini of NETSCOUT about the company's latest advancements in automated threat detection and response—with a particular focus on why telecommunications networks are uniquely vulnerable and high-value targets. NETSCOUT, long known for its deep packet inspection and network performance management, is expanding the capabilities of its adaptive threat analytics—a platform designed not only to detect threats but also to assemble and contextualize them using network-level intelligence. Beyond Detection: Seeing the Full Picture While most cybersecurity tools focus on isolated detections—EDR, firewall logs, and suspicious indicators—NETSCOUT's approach centers on reconstructing the complete threat narrative across the enterprise. By capturing packet data continuously and using workflows to connect disparate detections, NETSCOUT enables investigators to: Understand the root cause and lateral movement Detect activity before and after a flagged incident Integrate signals from multiple sources (EDR, NDR, WAF, and more) Investigate threats in real time and retrospectively Why Telcos Are at Greater Risk Mancini highlights the unique role of telco infrastructure in global data movement, making them prime targets for cyber espionage and traffic manipulation. Attackers, such as the Salt Typhoon group, have used compromised routers and peering points to reroute and eavesdrop on massive data flows—impacting not just carriers but their customers across the internet. Best Practices for Threat Hunters NETSCOUT supports both bottom-up investigations (starting with a detected incident) and top-down threat hunts (searching for indicators tied to known campaigns). The platform's ability to store and search packet-level data gives teams visibility that goes far beyond typical log-based detection tools. Mancini's key advice: “You need more than alerts—you need the data to trace back, understand what happened, and act before it's too late.” Where to Learn More Visit netscout.com to explore solutions in: Network Performance Management DDoS Detection & Mitigation Adaptive Threat Analytics NETSCOUT supports both enterprise and service provider environments and is available to assist with immediate and long-term threat management strategies.

In this episode of Great Question: A Manufacturing Podcast, Thomas Wilk, chief editor of Plant Services, is joined by Blair Fraser, the VP of technology at UE Systems to discuss how ultrasound tools are evolving. Many maintenance technicians use machine condition monitoring technologies for two related goals: detect a problem, and diagnose the root cause. However, Fraser argues that these technologies are evolving quickly to help teams achieve the next-step goal of deciding on the best corrective course of action that fits overall plant goals.
Can dynamic variables help detecting shaving from operators? Based on a conversation I had last week with Armin Aganovic, CRO of Joelsson Media, I realized that click IDs are more valuable than I realized. That is, operators can't inject fake winning players if you're in control of issuing unique codes within your click IDs.
Guest: Svetla Yankova, Founder and CEO, Citreno Topics: Why do so many organizations still collect logs yet don't detect threats? In other words, why is our industry spending more money than ever on SIEM tooling and still not “winning” against Tier 1 ... or even Tier 5 adversaries? What are the hardest parts about getting the right context into a SOC analyst's face when they're triaging and investigating an alert? Is it integration? SOAR playbook development? Data enrichment? All of the above? What are the organizational problems that keep organizations from getting the full benefit of the security operations tools they're buying? Top SIEM mistakes? Is it trying to migrate too fast? Is it accepting a too slow migration? In other words, where are expectations tyrannical for customers? Have they changed much since 2015? Do you expect people to write their own detections? Detecting engineering seems popular with elite clients and nobody else, what can we do? Do you think AI will change how we SOC (Tim: “SOC” is not a verb?) in the next 1- 3 -5 years? Do you think that AI SOC tech is repeating the mistakes SOAR vendors made 10 years ago? Are we making the same mistakes all over again? Are we making new mistakes? Did you know that black women in the United States are three times more likely to die from pregnancy related courses than white women? That's a heartbreaking reality, and it's even more alarming when we consider the role of environmental injustice play in these outcomes. Decades of systematic racism have forced for many black families to live in neighborhoods with more pollution, poor quality housing, and limited access to clean water and healthy food. Black women are therefore exposed to higher level of environmental hazards, all of which increase their risk of pregnancy complications like preterm birth, a low birth weight, and even maternal death. We understand how heavy and personal this topic can feel, especially for those who have lived these experiences were. Know someone who has, and that's why we're so glad to chat with Dr. K, Pregnancy Specialist. Dr. K Pregnancy is a board certified practitioner and OB/GYN, as well as Maternal-Fetal Medicine. During this live we're going to discuss the long standing inequity in black maternal care, the role of environment plays in pregnancy outcomes for people of color, what to ask if you are recommended a C-section and if you think it's unnecessary, and so much more. Navigating compliance in 2025 means being aligned with regulatory requirements, but it's a balancing act because at the end of the day, we all still have a job to do: delivering the right solutions, tailoring services to customer needs, and being a trusted partner. With new regulations coming into force and the mounting challenge of understanding cybersecurity, AI governance, and data integrity requirements, it's more important than ever to stay ahead. On the other hand, those who stay agile and deliver solutions that meet regulatory demands have an opportunity to turn the compliance headache into a competitive advantage. The Agility Advantage of Smaller Partners Smaller channel partners face growing pressure from complex customer environments, resource constraints, and fierce competition for skilled talent. However, their agility provides a unique advantage. Unlike larger enterprises, they can quickly adapt to evolving customer needs, position themselves as trusted advisors, and identify emerging vendors - particularly those offering AI-powered and automated solutions. AI adoption plays a critical role in maintaining a competitive edge. By embracing AI, smaller partners can deliver exceptional managed services with fewer resources, keeping costs low and service quality high. This approach ensures they remain competitive in a crowded market. Tackling the EU NIS2 Directive The EU NIS2 Directive reinforces the need for robust cybersecurity measures, urging businesses to adopt a more comprehensive approach to risk management. Essential security practices such as multi-factor authentication, regular cybersecurity training, incident response planning, and strong supply chain security are no longer optional but essential. A key principle underlying the directive is the Identify, Detect, Protect, Respond, and Recover framework. While most organisations focus heavily on detection and protection, recovery is sometimes a weak link. A lengthy recovery period following a breach can be as harmful as failing to detect the threat in the first place. The integration of automation into threat detection and response processes is becoming more important for meeting compliance requirements. The EU AI Act: Compliance Meets Innovation The EU AI Act introduces new obligations for organisations deploying AI solutions - emphasising transparency, accountability, and risk management throughout the AI lifecycle. These requirements extend to all aspects of AI implementation, from data sourcing and model training to real-world deployment. To address compliance risks, managed service providers may consider introducing AI governance roles, such as "AI Managers as a Service." These specialists help organisations navigate AI regulations without requiring full-time in-house expertise. While compliance with AI regulations may introduce additional costs, the long-term benefits - such as enhanced customer trust, clear documentation, and ethical AI practices - can significantly outweigh the initial investment. Rather than viewing compliance as a regulatory burden, partners should position it as an opportunity to strengthen customer relationships and stand out. Automation and AI: Key Enablers of Compliance AI and automation are proving indispensable for managing compliance complexity. From automating repetitive processes to monitoring security events and ensuring adherence to evolving standards, these technologies help organisations streamline compliance efforts while mini...

What if climate change made submarines completely undetectable? As ocean temperatures rise, thermal layers are disrupting sonar so dramatically that entire regions become acoustic dead zones where submarines can hide indefinitely. Watch civilization adapt when nuclear subs vanish into warm water pockets, jellyfish swarms clog warship engines, and whale songs get drowned out by thermal chaos. Welcome to a world where jellyfish defeat the entire nuclear navy without even trying. Based on "Submarines are Hard to Detect. 295 – What do you think of when you hear the phrase: worshiping idols? You probably think of something that happened thousands of years ago, but isn't relevant in today's world.I mean really, who bows down to idols today?Well, you'd be surprised. We may not make idols the way people in the Bible did, but there are modern day idols that we need to quit worshiping. My guest this week, Jake Doberenz, host of the Smashing Idols Podcast, talks about some of the idols in today's world that even the church has been bowing down to. And he'll share: How to realize this is what's going on when you're not aware of it How to quit worshiping these modern day idolsHow to destroy themThe blessings that come when you do this.Jake says there are often times when we have to make choices in life. We can't follow the world and Christ at the same time. We can't serve a materialistic way of life and God. We need to serve God and follow Christ. And in the process, not to make idols out of our own opinions and perspectives.Jake Doberenz info:Website: www.jakedoberenz.com/Podcast and newsletter: https://jakedoberenz.substack.com/Theophany Media, Jake's podcast production co. www.theophanymedia.comShow notes:Transcript and Bible quotes: thebiblespeakstoyou.com/295Text me your questions or comments.∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞HELP ME CELEBRATE Your answer will be part of Episode 300 Go to Celebrate 300 and tell me Your nameWhere you're fromYour answer to this question: If you could go back in time and talk to Jesus, what would you ask him?I need your answer by June 13, 2025Thanks so much!Support the showIf you enjoy the podcast, please rate and leave a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify__________________James Early, the Jesus Mindset Coach, is a Bible teacher, speaker, and podcaster.
