Send us comments, suggestions and ideas here! This week's episode sees us dust off the old VHS copy of the late 90s gnostic science fiction classic “Dark City,” written and directed by Alex Proyas. This is what your mom was talking about when you told her you wanted to see ‘The Matrix' but she said “No, we have it at home,” with some scenes almost matching shot for shot visually. Perhaps more remarkably is how Dark City tackles similar themes on loan from ancient gnostic philosophy but does so in a way faithful to its science fiction roots in German expressionism where it finds inspiration in the fertile imaginations of Fritz Lang and Albin Grau, the creators of Metropolis and Nosferatu respectively. The result is a film which beneath its slick, noir surface is a thoughtful meditation on the dark side of spirituality, evolution and the destiny of the human soul. In the first half of the show we discuss some of the occult roots of the science fiction genre itself and what it has to do with the Aeon of Horus championed by Aleister Crowley before cutting into the dense symbolism in the film's opening using the Tarot as our guide. In the extended show we visit the abode of Netzach and go deeper into Greek and even Hindu mythology to unpack some of the symbolism used in the film before discussing the overlap between The Strangers and their shadowy, real-life counterparts who manipulate our destiny from the circles beyond time. We hope you brought your Kabbalah glasses because we'll be talking shop in this one. Thank you and enjoy the show! Daniel Moler joined AB Live to discuss his new book, The Shamanic Soul, as well as his overall work as a modern shaman and seasoned occultist. How exactly does shamanism manifest today, loyal to its roots while still useable in contemporary esoteric practice? We got the answers and saw how Shamanism and Gnosticism are very compatible. And we geeked out too and had a lot of fun talking about comic books and Philip K. Dick. Life is good in the Kenoma, even if no one here gets out alive.More information on DanielSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/aeon-byte-gnostic-radio/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Episódio 7: Neste episódio decidimos convidar o Luis Salgado (produtor da Amazing Events, do Vagos Metal Fest e do mais recente Soundflower Fest) para uma conversa sobre o impacto prático do Covid-19 na industria musical. # Notas do episódio # Sugestões Fernando Ferreira: Sons Of a Wanted Man - "Kenoma" - apesar do que o Fernando disse, os Sons Of A Wanted Man não são o projecto de Nergal Me And That Man. É o estado resultante de estar em quarentena desde 2016 e de viver ocasionalmente numa realidade paralela. Algo que nos pode acontecer a todos, dada a oportunidade). Curiositi is the musical project of Matilda Berggren and Emil Johansson. Being veterans of the swedish electro/indie-scene the couple met while touring italy with their respective bands in 2007 but took up writing and producing together in 2016 when Johansson put his old project Parker Lewis to rest. Since Curiositis first release the act has slowly built a reputation for being next level producers and writers, making heavily R&B-influenced pop music echoing of soft rock, quiet storm and even new jack swing. The debut album Skin Love came out through the band’s own Inertial Recordings in March 2019, celebrated by the band through an exhibition and gesamtkunstwerk at art space Makeriet in their native Malmö. Instead of a release party, Curiositi collaborated with performance artist Daniel Kokko, artist Lisa Peterson, graphic designer Ivar Lantz and various fragrance artists and distillers to create an all round experience of the themes of Skin Love. This event also marked the premiere for Curiositi’s silent live shows. A concept where the band perform their music in a storefront window to bypassers who are able to listen through headphones on the other side of the storefront window. Curiositi is currently doing finishing touches on their sophomore album Kenoma, slated for release early 2020. The first single Accidie was released early summer 2019 and was by far the smallest act to be featured on the Spotify playlist New Music Friday Sweden

Explore the ideas held by the Gnostics. The term Gnostics comes from gnosis, gnw/sij (knowledge). The Gnostics claimed to have privileged knowledge about the divine world. Salvation was achieved through “gnosis”. Consider their ideas about cosmogony, the origins of the world. Explore a visual of the cosmos of the Gnostics. The Pleroma included Sophia, one of the Aeons, who experienced a fall into the physical world of the Kenoma, delivered the Demiurge (a lesser god abandoned by her), was saved by the Christ Aeon who saves people to the higher God and was restored. The Demiurge was the one who created the world and is inherently bad. The Gnostics believed Jesus was a fleshly man on whom the Christ Aeon descended or that Jesus was the actual Christ Aeon who only appeared to be in the flesh. Therefore a spark of divine knowledge is in man, who is enabled to be illuminated to the truth of salvation. The Gnostics were dualistic and believed that the resurrection does not include the flesh – only the spirit (soul) is good and delivered to the realm of the gods. As a result, they abandoned the Old Testament. They divided mankind into a threefold division of: 1) pneumatikoi, the privileged of special knowledge who will be saved; 2) the psychikoi who are capable of obtaining knowledge but may or may not truly be saved; and 3) the sorkikoi who are beyond understanding.
