Jack Parsons was one of the world's first rocket scientists, inventing an early version of the same fuel that was used to carry humans to the moon without ever having earned a formal degree. Parsons was almost entirely self-taught. Obsessive about rockets, he often took great risks in his experimentation with the explosives that would eventually take his life. Parsons was similarly voracious and impetuous in his study of occultism. He fancied himself a black magician, earned Aleister Crowley's approval and then censure as head of the Ordo Templi Orientis in southern California, and believed he had conjured his second wife through his invocations to the goddess Babalon. He bridged the worlds of science and magick and died suddenly and tragically, leaving the strange spectacle of his life for his admirers and detractors to puzzle through.

Three schools later he won an exhibition to Brasenose College, Oxford, where he studied Theology. Compelled to exchange a vocation to the priesthood for the lowlier prospect of a career in television, he first came to public notice with the 1987 Channel 4 production, GNOSTICS. The 4-part, drama-documentary went out at peak time on Saturday nights. It won the New York TV Festival Gold Award for best religious series. Churton's Channel 4/Weidenfeld & Nicolson book accompanying the series was a best seller.  Long before Dan Brown scored a hit with The Da Vinci Code, Tobias Churton introduced a popular audience to the authentic world of esoteric mysteries. Brandon Spain, the host of Unrefined Podcast, and co-host Lindsay Waters welcome investigative journalist and author William Ramsey to the show. They have a mutual friend from the Fringe Radio Network, Johnny McMahon, who sent his greetings. William is the host of one of the top 0.5% podcasts in the world and the conversation between the three of them is rooted in a Christian perspective. They start the conversation by discussing Aleister Crowley, a modern magician and artist who has attracted people in Hollywood. The conversations then moves on to discussing occult practices, the supernatural and how they can be seen through a Christian lens. They discuss the dangers of such practices and the importance of understanding the spiritual realm. They close the conversation with William sharing why he believes it's important to continue to explore and research the topics he covers. The speaker was a fringe researcher who had lost faith in corporate media in the 90s. After 9/11, he was researching independently online and noticed the number 11 popping up everywhere. He then found out that eleven was a very important number in the Western Esoteric tradition, which led him to Aleister Crowley. He then realized that Crowley was writing things from 77 to 93 and 175, so he decided to research him further and learn more about magic and the occult. The conversation is about Aleister Crowley and how he is viewed as a cultural and historical figure. Crowley wrote a 500-page autobiography called Confessions which he called a hagiography, but it was the opposite as he divulged a lot of information about himself and his activities. The speaker then talks about how Crowley's ideas overlap with the New World Order and what happened on 9/11, which is still happening today. Crowley was an elitist and an occultist, and his ideas are being copied by those in power. William introduces the book, Prophet of Evil, which is on its third edition. Ramsey Dukes, also known by his real name of Lionel Snell, may be one of the most important thinkers on magic since Aleister Crowley. In the impishly-titled Sex Secrets of the Black Magicians Exposed (or SSOTBME for short), Dukes accomplishes something few writers on the topic have been able to do: he gives us magic without asking us to sacrifice anything that makes us sensible modern people. He makes magic seem like the most obvious thing in the world, and he does it without taking away any of its, well, magic. How he does it and what it means are questions that would take several episodes to unpack. In this one, Phil and JF begin the work by discussing how Dukes situates magic in an epistemic compass that also includes science, art, and religion. There have been contingents in the U.K., Germany, and Australia. 89 Qanon supporters in the U.S. ran for Congress, suggesting that Qanon has come to represent a minor political constituency. My book doesn't ask what sort of deranged media and cultural environment gave rise to Qanon. Instead, it asks what it is about their ideology that has caught fire. More specifically, it asks: is there something in the supposedly delusional ravings of this new political movement that might actually be accurate?• Pedo cabal? Check. Notorious pedophile and spook Jeffrey Epstein had ties to two U.S. presidents, the king of Saudi Arabia, two Israeli prime ministers, and the British Royal Family.• Occultism? Check. British intelligence relied on Aleister Crowley, the disputed grandfather of satanism, as a spy from World War One and beyond. U.S. intelligence agent Lt. Col. Michael Aquino was an open satanist accused of ritual sexual abuse of children at multiple daycare centers across the U.S. and possibly abroad.• The Illuminati? Check. Richard Spence PhD, returns to discuss Boris Savinkov, the mysterious Russian Socialist, whose allegiances call his agenda into question leaving researchers puzzled.
