You guys know what an interabang is?! I had no idea and learned while recording this. Fun times!
Here's a proposition: a three-hour long Mike Rugnetta extravaganza! In the wake of his appearance on 'Crash Chords: Autographs', in CCA Ep. #43, we're pleased to re-introduce the one, the only, Mike Rugnetta for the full Crash Chords experience. Famed for hosting the PBS Idea Channel, a popular internet series that examines "the connections between pop culture, technology, and art", Mike sits in for a 30 min. follow-up interview, during which we prod into some new features on the Idea Channel, Mike's long-held interest in critical theory, the re-launch of his Reasonably Sound podcast, and fittingly, his own compositions. Finally, @ 0:29:20, we commence with the big tamale: quality time spent in a succulent critical analysis of Mike's album of choice, Without My Enemy What Would I Do by Made in Heights. With Mike fully in his element (and the rest of us seated & caffeinated), all that's missing is a dutiful audience! To join in, just chew on the album a bit, strap in, ponder, and play. What's up everyone! Man, it's been a weird last week or so and I don't forsee things getting more normal anytime soon. But I've got some tunes to help you through. I want to thank all of you for your patience with me getting this next episode out. I think I kind of over music'ed myself again and I also don't think I fully appreciated how much mental space the election was taking up. Oh yeah, and there is the three kids, job, life... And Dan Carlin's Hardcore History hasn't helped but omg it's sooo good!! It's not music but you should listen. Anyway, enough banter. These are the vibez you're looking for. This is probably the most consistently mellow set I've done for Warm Focus- relaxed to the point of verging on ambient or new age at times. I hope you enjoy it- this is one to put on in the background and slow down with. First broadcast on BFF.fm on 03 - 23 - 2016. A real journey through the genres this week. DJ Frane starts our trip with one from his Journey to The Planet of Birds, then Cut Chemist finds the groove and stays in the pocket with The Garden. Blockhead brings the Creepin' and it gets thick and heavy in Amon Tobin's Nepalese Bliss. We head to Sweden and take a turn upbeat with Lissi Dancefloor Disaster, Made In Heights has Viices then The Knife brings the darkwave goodness with a Silent Shout. Japan's DJ Krush starts to chill us out a bit, and Leksha brings us some fresh and clean IDM from Russia. The Higher Intelligence Agency takes us back to their first album with Spectral and Bluetech brings it back in a similar dubby groove with Seed To Soil.
