We all have a story…actually, we all have stories. Yes. Plural. Stories. We write these stories based on past experiences and situations. Many of the stories were created in our youth. When we are little, we don't have enough life experiences and wisdom to analyze the situation as an adult. Thus, we pick up the pencil and begin to write our story. These stories can last years and decades. As an adult, when we want to do something new, these stories get in our way. Many times we don't even realize this because we are too close to the story. The story feels natural. It feels comfortable. Your story is meant to be updated so that it serves you. What holds you back from updating your story? It requires radical honesty with yourself. 2023 will bring an energy that requires you to trust yourself and shed your old story. Would you be opposed to Rise Above Your Story? She has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Cornell University. Besides business coaching and working with accountants, Geraldine enjoys mountain biking, trails, and raising her family. In this Growing Your Firm Podcast, CEO and Founder of Jetpack Workflow David Cristello interviews Geraldine Carter. Geraldine has been on the show before and came back to talk about her experiences with business coaching and provide examples of what plagues CPAs/accountants. Many elements of life hold back firm owners—money, sense of value, where to go next, etc. Clients and the mental mind are two perfect examples of what holds back CPAs/accountants. If you don't listen to your clients and find your interests through their struggles, you might never find your niche. It's also easy to become your own worst critic.

Fear is a universal emotion. We've all experienced it at some point. It is very real and very relevant. As a teenage girl, Edith Eger was a prisoner in Auschwitz Concentration Camp. She said that after she was released once the War ended, it was then that she learned that the greatest prison is the one in our own minds. Fear makes us prisoners of our minds. With all the people we work with — and through our own experiences — we've learned that so many of us are living far below our privilege, potential, desires, wants, and ‘callings' because of fear. Even in our day-to-day life, we're missing out on deeper relationships with our spouse or children because we're afraid of the little things that feel so big — the conversations that need to happen or doing the things that need to be done. These things aren't happening because of fear, and so your family life is less than it could be. Shakespeare put it this way. “Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt.” Fear is the greatest of thieves. What fears are betraying you and keeping you from the life you want? And how do you face and overcome those fears? Listen to this episode now for simple strategies to overcome fears so that you can move forward in your relationships, finances, lifestyle, and opportunities. There is no denying that music has the power to transform us. We often listen to music that matches our emotional state, but can we also leverage music to alter our state to the level of happiness we seek? For episode five of our seven-episode series on The Leader's Playlist, I am thrilled to welcome John Ruhlin, founder of the Ruhlin Group and author of Giftology, to talk about how and why music can heal us, and even make us a more generous leader as well. This is why the new playlist we create allows us to shift our actions and our reactions. Music really does have the power to make you a better leader. Tune into this episode to learn more.
After the Chargers fell apart at the end of the Raiders game, is it fair to question if Joe Lombardi is holding back Justin Herbert and the offense? The guys discuss if they are buying or selling Lombardi's play calling, if the offense can survive without Keenan Allen and if Trey Pipkins has solved the right tackle problem. The Chargers run defense looked improved in week one, is it sustainable? One thing that could hurt the against the run is cutting defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko.
