Wade and Ty Crowther build custom renovations and decks in the Arizona mountains. After hitting a rock-bottom week with zero cash flow, they realized acting as the daily project manager left them zero time to chase high-margin contracts. In this episode, Wade and Ty detail how they stepped back to fix their margins. They share the exact roadmap used to transition a 54-year-old veteran foreman off the tools and into management. You will learn why relying strictly on word of mouth leaves your pipeline vulnerable and how shooting simple site videos closes premium clients. They also break down the jump from contractor to developer. Wade and Ty reveal how they launched a dedicated holdings company to fund their own private builds and fully retire in ten years. Small Faces-Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake (Immediate Records) Release Date- May 24, 1968 Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake (1968) stands as the creative peak of the Small Faces and one of the most distinctive albums of the psychedelic era. Recorded in London at Olympic and Trident Studios and produced by Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane, the album blends R&B roots, British music-hall humor, hard rock energy, and imaginative studio experimentation. The first side features a set of diverse songs—from the soulful power of “Afterglow (Of Your Love)” to the playful Cockney pop of the hit single “Lazy Sunday,” which reached No. 2 in the UK. The second side presents the whimsical “Happiness Stan” suite, a surreal narrative narrated by Stanley Unwin that follows a character searching for the missing half of the moon. With its innovative circular sleeve inspired by tobacco tins and its adventurous concept structure, the album reached No. 1 in the UK and remained there for six weeks. Though the original lineup soon dissolved, Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake remains Small Faces' most imaginative and enduring achievement. (S5-EP11)
The great white sharks of False Bay – once so abundant that film crews from around the world came to document them, have all but vanished. Wildlife photographer and conservationist Chris Fallows says we're looking for blame in the wrong place. In this interview with BizNews Fallows, famous for capturing the world's first images of breaching great whites at Seal Island – explains why the two orcas, Port and Starboard, who are widely blamed for the sharks' disappearance, “arrived after the crime scene”. Instead, he points to government sanctioned policies, shark nets demersal shark longline fisheries; and Australia's appetite for “flake and chips” as the real culprits. These sharks, immortalised in world famous series such as Blue Planet, once attracted more than 100,000 visitors to South African shores every year. Fallows argues they have now been lost through bad management and political infighting. And for those who insist shark nets remain essential in places like KwaZuluNatal, Fallows says modern technology and a different way of thinking offer a far more progressive solution. He also believes there are clear lessons to be learnt from the protection of humpback whales. While humpback numbers have surged under protection. including a world record sighting of 300 whales in a single day, great white sharks, an ecologically vital apex predator, are disappearing from our oceans.

In the past couple of generations, there's been a lot of talk about finding one's passion. Many people find themselves dissatisfied with their work because it doesn't feel passionate enough. This begs the question, should our choice of vocation be fueled by practicality, passion, or calling? What even is a calling? And do we all have one? In today's conversation, we'll endeavor to define the differences between what lights a person up and what provides a deeper service. We'll explore one's moral obligation, if any, to share the gifts they were divinely given. When did canceling plans become a personality trait... and at what cost? This week, Amanda is joined by writer and internet culture expert Kate Lindsay (@kathrynfiona) to overthink being a flake... not as a quirky coping mechanism, but as a habit that can quietly shrink our lives. Together, they explore how chronic flakiness can lead to isolation, weaken our relationships, and negatively impact mental health, especially in the burnout aftermath of the pre-COVID girlboss era that taught us to overextend and then retreat. The conversation traces how exhaustion, overwork, and digital culture have reshaped our tolerance for social effort, and when “protecting your peace” starts to look like opting out entirely. In this powerful Veterans Week episode, The MisFitNation welcomes US Army Veteran Tammy Flake — a leader, advocate, businesswoman, and champion for veteran wellness and community connection. Tammy served from 2004-2008 as a Unit Supply Specialist and Arms Room Specialist with the 3-101 Aviation Regiment at Fort Campbell, supporting the Apache helicopter mission. She earned her Air Assault qualification and deployed to Iraq (2005–2006), where she played a key role in maintaining readiness and equipping soldiers for their missions. Today, Tammy brings that same discipline and compassion into her life as a wife, mother of five, entrepreneur, VFW Post Commander, and Utah VFW State Surgeon. She is driven to combat veteran suicide and works closely with Heroes Haven, which provides mentorship, connection, and healing for veterans seeking purpose after service. This conversation is about service, identity, transition, family, leadership, and hope — and the belief that no veteran should ever be left behind. The government shutdown is very close to ending and there is no doubt that the democrats are taking the loss. Even the legacy media is blaming the Dems for folding, and this puts Chucky Cheese Schumer on the hotseat. Liberal MSNBC not only airs anti-ICE segments but are actually applauding and giving a spotlight to Americans that are fighting against ICE, even mothers with kids as witnesses. The Arizona Senators are just plain embarrassing, former Senator Flake included, plus, Carville, filibuster, and kissing feet.

Here's The Caveat... Intentional Leadership with Coach Bob Reish
Welcome to Here's the Caveat! — where leadership gets real, excuses go to die, and wisdom wins every time.Today, we're talking about something that starts small… and ends in disaster. It's called The Snowball Before the Avalanche. You've seen it, that “no big deal” moment. The small compromise. The lazy decision. The “I'll get to it later.” It doesn't look dangerous. It doesn't feel urgent. But here's the Caveat… every avalanche starts with one careless snowball. You see, failure rarely happens overnight. It builds, flake by flake, choice by choice, until one day, everything you've built is sliding downhill faster than you can stop it. In leadership, that's where most people lose their footing, not in the crisis, but in the complacency that came before it.Today, we're going to talk about how to stop the snowball before it becomes the avalanche, in your business, your discipline, your thinking, and your leadership. Convenience doesn't cause collapse, carelessness does. The good news is, with awareness, discipline, and wisdom, you can stop the slide before it starts.Let's get into it.

Send us a textInteresting things about the distillery:Said to be America's oldest continually maintained brand of whiskey, it was founded in West Overton, Pennsylvania, in 1810.Old Overholt is a rye whiskey distilled by A. Overholt & Co., currently a subsidiary of Beam Suntory, which is a subsidiary of Suntory Holdings of Osaka, Japan. It is currently distilled at the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont, KYHenry Oberholzer (Anglicized to “Overholt”), a German Mennonite farmer, moved to West Overton, Pennsylvania, on the banks of Jacobs Creek in Western Pennsylvania in 1800. His family came from the area of Germany which specialized in distilling “korn”, or rye whiskey, and Henry took up the tradition. In 1810, Henry's son took over the management of the distillery and made it into a business. By the 1820s, the distillery was putting out 12 to 15 gallons of rye whiskey per day. By 1859, Overholt incorporated his business as “A. Overholt & Co.” He operated out of a new distillery building that was six stories high, 100 feet long, and which could produce 860 gallons per day.Old Overholt was one of six distilleries allowed to continue issuing bottled-in-bond, government stamped, pints with a dosage cup atop the cap and doctor's prescription attached to the back.Maybe because Andrew Mellon was a partner in the business and he was the secretary of the treasury under HardingMellon Sold his shares in 1925 due to concerns from prohabisionists Beam bought out the old overholt in 1986, when they made the purchase of Dekuyper Peachtree Schnapps. This was during a time when brown liquor was frowned upon and clear liquors were in. Our Bottle:Pipe Pairings: 80 proof- Cornell and Diehl gentleman caller. Hey there! It's Michael here - and welcome back to another Happy English, Phrasal Verb Friday. I'm here every Friday with a quick, one-poi nt English lesson to help you learn a new phrasal verb and sound more natural when you speak.Today's phrasal verb is flake out. When you flake out, it means you agree to do something - like meet up, help out, or join an event - but then you don't show up or don't follow through. Basically, you cancel or disappear at the last minute.Like last weekend. My friend Jake said he'd help me move the pianos, but he totally flaked out.And then the next day, Jenny promised to come to dinner, but she flaked out and texted an hour before saying she was “too tired.”And honestly, I've flaked out before too, totally not something I'm proud of at all. And here's a little pronunciation tip: flake out - flay-kout. The K sound at the end of flake connects right into out. Fla......kout. flay-kout!So how about you? Has a friend ever flaked out on you? Or maybe you've flaked out on someone before? Leave a comment, and don't forget to follow or subscribe so you don't miss the next Happy English Podcast and next week's Phrasal Verb Friday. Send us a textEver hear a single sentence change someone's life? That's how Jay Flake's story starts—cracking jokes in a corporate training room when an older coworker told him he'd missed his calling. One open mic later, the Nashville comic found his lane: high-energy, true-story material that feels lived-in, then sharpened it into a clean-comedy brand that books hard and lasts longer. We dig into the gritty rise that rarely makes the highlight reel: Zoom corporate sets, underground rooms, patio shows, and a pandemic album that hit festivals even as the video stayed shelved to protect the brand. Jay breaks down why some jokes belong to their moment, how cleaner material unlocked better gigs, and how to translate everyday chaos into bits that crush without cheap shots. The COVID talk is raw and hilarious—taste disappearing mid-breakfast, a hotel deodorant “taste test,” and the lonely, surreal weeks that turned survival into stories. The craft gets equal airtime. Jay salutes Bernie Mac's fearlessness, Dave Chappelle's ease with ordinary ideas, and Ali Sadiq's storytelling and business blueprint: drop on Patreon, expand on YouTube, then license to streamers for a third check. We also walk through Andrew Schultz's clip-first playbook and the discipline behind album timing—finding minutes, trimming fat, and protecting your voice. Plus, the green room rules nobody teaches: listen more than you talk, guard private shop talk, and treat owners and managers like the partners they are.Want the laughs and the ladder? This one gives both—part origin story, part strategy guide, and packed with practical moves any comic or creator can use right now. Have you ever felt like life left you for dead, yet somehow, by God's grace, you're still standing? In this message, Rev. Elaine Flake draws inspiration from the “Left for Dead” movie series to explore how faith, courage, and divine protection sustain us in life's toughest seasons. Drawing from Daniel 6, she shares how Daniel's unwavering faith in God, even in the face of persecution, led to his miraculous deliverance from the lion's den. Rev. Flake reminds us that just as God rescued Daniel, He is still delivering His people today. No matter how deep the pit or fierce the lions, God's hand is mighty to save. When we remain steadfast in faith, gratitude, and obedience, victory is not only possible—it's promised. Even when the world counts you out, God's faithfulness counts you back in. Trust Him to turn what was meant for harm into your greatest testimony. Sermon Scripture: Daniel 6:16-28 We stream live every Sunday at 11 am and every Wednesday at 8 pm.
