Milton Keynes-based DJ/artist/events promoter Lee Clarke steps up to the Avenue Red Podcast with a tough, driving, deep mix of House music. After a recent spate of gigs in his hometown of Nottingham, nearby Derby and slightly further afield Leeds, we welcome the return of Leftback Records homeboy Chris Boardman for a second round on the Avenue Red Podcast series. This mix provides a great summary of Chris' role in the Leftback label parties alongside his friends Dudley Strangeways & Michael McLardy; a deep, dubby Techno vibe to warm up and some mind-blowing minimal Techno rhythms & sounds for laters. I will be venturing over to Birmingham to play at some good-looking parties but it's all still to be confirmed at the moment. The third installment of the Avenue Red podcast is a 3 hour-long back-to-back session from Nottingham duo Dudley Strangeways and Michael McLardy, two established stalwarts of the UK Deep House/Tech House circuit. Both are prolific producers and remixers as well as DJ's, both with a tall release history steeped in quality on heavyweight labels such as Back To You, Klasse, HOLIC TRAX, Resopal Schallware and Black Key among many others. This year Michael launched his own imprint, Left Wing, as a platform to push his own vision of deep electronic music with a strong focus on House & Techno forms. Also to be launched in January next year is a vinyl-only label called Leftback that will be used exclusively as a vehicle for the duos own productions. Originally from Sunderland and now based in Nottingham (UK), Michael McLardy has steadily been building his reputation as a solid and reliable name in deep and tech house circles. His throbbing, subby, dance floor grooves have appeared on labels including Baker Street, ALiVE, Back To You, Deep Edition, Save You, Deso and Pete Dafeet’s Southside Shuffle and have received support from the likes of Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Magda, Charles Webster, Jay Tripwire, Terry Francis, Ashley Beedle, Mark Farina, Dyed Soundorom, The Timewriter, Dubfire, Matthias Tanzmann and many more. His original work has seen the remix treatment from DJ W!LD, Moodymanc, Matthew Styles, Adam Shelton, JMX & many more. As a record collector and DJ Michael plays regularly around Nottingham and across the UK, has recently secured a new residency at Clocked London and has appeared on line ups alongside established artists such as Jamie Jones, Onur Ozer, Valentino Kanzyani, Praslea, Livio & Roby, Simon Baker, Jay Shepheard, Steffi, Dave Congreve, Burnski, Bill Brewster + many more.
