BashTech Radio 78 with Materielle Bio: Materielle is a Los Angeles-based techno artist whose deep, dub-driven sound draws heavily from the rhythmic syncopations and atmospheric textures of 90s Detroit techno. Fusing elements of heavy, hypnotic basslines with intricate patterns and immersive reverb, Materielle's music taps into the raw energy and experimental edge of underground techno, with an emphasis on subtle detail and emotional depth. A self-taught producer with a decade-long career in music technology, Materielle has cultivated a distinctive sonic palette shaped by the teachings of pioneering artists like Rødhåd, Claudio PRC, and Richie Hawtin. The project's name, Materielle, is inspired by the delicate art of weaving—an analogy for the artist's approach to music, where sound is crafted through layers and textures, much like fabrics are woven together to create something new. Since 2019, Materielle has honed her craft as a DJ, transitioning seamlessly into production with her track singles, Satin and Organza on Delusional Records and the release of her debut EP, Fabrique on Northern Parallels. The EP, which features the tracks Nylon and Neoprene, with remixes from Mike Derer and Raytek, has garnered attention for its unique blend of hypnotic grooves and emotionally charged atmospherics. Materielle's recent release, a remix of Orly Gal's track, The Man Without a Face, was chosen by Beatport for their November 2024 Techno Shortlist (peak/driving), further solidifying her growing presence in the techno scene. In early 2025, she contributed the track Kevlar to the Synthetik Minds VA Compilation, a benefit release supporting Los Angeles fire relief efforts. The compilation features a lineup of major artists from across the global techno scene, underscoring Materielle's commitment to both artistic collaboration and community impact. Through her work, Materielle invites listeners to immerse themselves in a world of intricate sound design, where the boundaries between space and rhythm blur, creating a meditative yet driving experience. With an approach rooted in both technology and art, Materielle continues to explore the intersection of sound, texture, and human emotion within the ever-evolving techno landscape. Materielle has played LA Compound, Re/Form, SXTCY, Bang Bang SD, Techno Taco Tuesday Las Vegas, and various LA undergrounds. She has supported Daria Kolosova, Ryan Elliott, Lindsey Herbert, Annika Wolfe, and Nur Jaber. Hailing from Dublin, Aero has rapidly established himself as one of Ireland's most vital techno artists, carving out a distinct identity grounded in the ethos of purist techno. His sound—a fusion of hard-edged grooves and funk-infused textures—has been a driving force on Irish dancefloors for over half a decade, reflecting a deep understanding of the genre's lineage. Aero's productions channel the raw energy of 90s and early 2000s techno, reimagined with a modern sensibility. Releases on respected imprints like Planet Rhythm, Index Marcel Fengler, and Entourage Concept have showcased his ability to craft precision-engineered tracks, built for peak-time impact. Supported by figures such as Amelie Lens, Freddy K, and Richie Hawtin, Aero's music speaks to both the genre's roots and its forward trajectory. As a DJ, Aero's adaptability is his hallmark. Kostas aka AgainstMe is a Berlin-based Greek DJ, producer, and co-founder of SOCIETY 3000, as well as a core member of USM Recordings. His journey into electronic music began at just 17, when he started releasing music under a different alias, experimenting with a variety of electronic genres. However, it wasn't until his first rave and techno parties on his home island of Lesvos in 2017 that he found his true musical identity, and AgainstMe was born. The AgainstMe project draws inspiration from the struggle to align with one's inner voice, a journey Kostas deeply resonates with. Techno, with its hypnotic melodies, heavy drum patterns, and ritualistic energy, provided him with a revolutionary and unifying sound, something that stood in contrast to everything he had experienced before. Since then, his sound has evolved, and his releases have gained international recognition. Notable works include the EP Tension Seeker on Warok Records, the album Synopsis on Subsist Records, and UNCERTAIN on Immaterial.Archives. His music has received support from influential platforms such as 6AM, Hate, Monument, Electronic Groove, and Beater, as well as from respected artists like DVS1, Umwelt, Sev Dah, Rodhad, Kangding Ray, K-Hand, Mikael Delta, Richie Hawtin, and Marco Bailey. As a DJ, Kostas has performed at renowned venues and parties, including Tresor, RSO, Fuchs2, Qreclaim, Astron Bar, Six D.O.G.S, and SMUT Athens. His sets, much like his productions, are a hypnotic blend of driving rhythms and atmospheric depth, captivating audiences around the globe. Looking ahead, Kostas is preparing to release new material on prestigious labels like SOMA Records, 47, Tar Hallow, Malor Records, Renegade Methodz, and Evilgroove Records, ensuring that his future in the techno scene looks exceptionally bright. Dawn Razor and Confluence have proven, again, that they are at the top of the game when it comes to broken, bass heavy Techno. With the bunch of releases on ARTS, Flightpath, Credo and Dext - their music receiving support from some of the biggest names, such as Richie Hawtin, Chris Liebing, Scuba, Rødhad, Marco Bailey, Pan-Pot, Joey Beltram, Shed, and Answer Code Request, it's no wonder their tracks are frequently found in the mixes and playlists of these industry heavyweights. Prolific dj and producer, label owner and promoter - Dawn Razor, conjures up a deft, future-focused productions that paints a rich landscape of exciting sounds that push the boundaries of modern electronic music in a myriad of new directions and has been killing` the game since 2015. Confluence, aka Evgeny Chizhkov, a native of the small town of Dobryanka, Perm region in Russia, a techno-pioneer of the local movement, behind him more than 10 years of DJ career, one of the pioneers of local techno raves, has been actively producing his own music for about 7 years, is currently a member of the Perm community and a series of podcasts - Esthetica. In the Confluence style, there is an academic Detroit interspersed with classic EBM and German electro early 00s, the influence of the English broken beat school and leftfield house is also traced.
