Have you ever cried while making a mix? I had to remaster this one since I was too close to the edge like Icuras. Well, this mix did it to me this afternoon. Kyodai means "brothers" in Japanese and that's a good clue for guessing who's behind these two heads, the producers are known under a variety of different names! They started at the end of the 90's their main project called WAGON COOKIN' alongside with their own record label APPETIZERS and the duo gained respect from musical heavyweights like Lauren Garnier, Masters At Work, Jimpster, Gilles Peterson, Rainer Trüby, and they regularly release under a variety of different names for labels such as Compost, Odori, Om, Lovemonk......... Kyodai together with Wagon Cookin have had a strong run of releases since their debut here on Freerange Records Their "Mi Rumba EP" must have impressed a lot of people as they went on to release a follow up EP for Mad Mats blossoming Local Talk label with "Breaking EP", supported by top names, until reaching the top list of the Gilles Peterson's "An All Winners Show", and to be part of the GTA V soundtrack, also have an EP due on Poker Flat called "Never Know". Kerri Chandler dug it enough to include on his RA podcast and it was also picked up for the Cielo Compilation on Nervous, resulting many request for remixes and productions. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the label and their first acclaimed album APPETIZERS both with the same name, they are preparing a bunch of releases restarting the label with the original Album in digital format and new EP's counting for this special occasion with big names from the electronic scene as well. Willie Rodriguez born January 2, 1972 is an American Dj, record producer and remixer. Willie Rodriguez embarked his musical talent as a dj spinning records at the age of 13.  By 1995 Willie Rodriguez was working at a record store called DiscORama in  NYC.DisCOrama..that's where I learned about House Music, HipHop, Funk&Soul, Reggae, etc...you had to be well rounded as a DJ. In the 90's I was playing in local NYC club spots with a residency at Sequoia's, an after work party in NYC that started in 1995 it  lasted till 2012. Willie Rodriguez began producing and releasing tracks on Strickly Rhythm in the late 90's under the famous A&R Gladys Pizzaro.  He started interning for Digital Dungeon Records under Davidson Ospina and Juan Kato he learned about the music industry, and got into production.  In 2009 he started his own Digital Label Hook And Bass Records and started releasing his own tracks. Willie Rodriguez has released and remixed tracks on Open Bar Music, Azucar Digital, Henry Street Music, House Tribe Records, Arawakan Records, Sweatin Records. Willie Rodriguez a dj extraordinar consistently shows his ability for programming beats while blinding different styles to deliver the ultimate mix. Awarded with several gold and platinum discs and various trophies from the music industry, he decides at the end of 2013 to launch his own group, the electronic duo “firefly”; a project with melodious grooves, tinted with future-bass and sparks of trap rhythmics.
