Tereza Kerndlová zpívala doslova odmalička, a to například i s velkými swingovými orchestry. ON AIR je talk show hudebního publicisty Pavla Kučery s hudebníky a lidmi z hudební branže. Nový díl je uveřejněn každý týden na YouTube kanálu kytary.cz.

In this episode, Eric Cannata of Young the Giant dives into the writing and recording of their 2014 hit single "Mind Over Matter," a pivotal track that showcased the band's evolving sound and emotional depth. Eric reflects on the surreal experience of achieving success, the collaborative nature of the band's songwriting, and the challenges of creating a sophomore album that balanced innovation with emotional resonance. Produced by the legendary Justin Meldal-Johnsen—known for his work with Beck, Nine Inch Nails, M83, and St. Vincent—the song's intricate arrangements and dynamic shifts highlight the influence of one of music's most versatile producers. From demoing songs to crafting subtle musical layers, this conversation explores how "Mind Over Matter" became a defining moment for the band while also offering a glimpse into Eric's personal musical journey and creative experimentation. Big Nick is BACK! And so is Donnie the Driver....as played by Gerard Butler and O'Shea Jackson Jr. respectively, they are the only significant hold-overs from the first first Den of Thieves which came out five years. That original LA-based crime thriller directed by Christian Gudegast (who also returns to direct this sequel) ended up being a bit of a sleeper hit and has garnered a significant following since then via streaming and/or cable. So how do they continue the story this time around? By bringing the overall action to both France and Belgium where Donnie (O'Shea Jackson Jr.) is now deeply involved in an ambitious heist to steal gems from the World Diamond District. And guess who suddenly travels to Nice to find him AND potentially join him? Why it's Nick (Gerard Butler) who is a now a disgraced former LAPD cop as a result of the events of the previous film.....and now he wants IN? :o In other words.....The Cop Goes Gangster and The Heist Goes Global. Also included among the international cast are Evin Ahmad, Salvatore Esposito, Orli Shuka.....Host & Editor: Geoff GershonProducer: Marlene GershonSend us a texthttps://livingforthecinema.com/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Living-for-the-Cinema-Podcast-101167838847578Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/livingforthecinema/Letterboxd:https://letterboxd.com/Living4Cinema/

At the end of every year, Kevin does a solo episode celebrating top releases of that year… but there are lots of albums that don't get picked and they stay sadly on the bloody scribed scroll. This week we resurrect some of the lost souls from the past 4 years. Those left for dead may now rise! What is it we do here at InObscuria? Every show Kevin opens the crypt to exhume and dissect from his personal collection; an artist, album, or grouping of tunes from the broad spectrum of rock, punk, and metal. This week we look back on the last 4 years of rock n' punk n' metal. Hopefully, you get turned onto something new!Songs this week include:Night - “Shadow Gold” from High Tides – Distant Skies (2020)False Heads - “Wrap Up” from It's All There But You're Dreaming (2020)Mordred - “Smash Goes The Bottle” from The Dark Parade (2021)Slammin' Gladys - “Light Up” from Two (2021)StarGazer - “Can You Conceive It” from Life Will Never Be The Same (2022)The Poor - “Payback's A Bitch” from Payback's A Bitch - single (2022)Haken - “Lovebite” from Fauna (2023)Creeper - “Cry To Heaven” from Sanguivore (2023)Please subscribe everywhere that you listen to podcasts!Visit us: https://inobscuria.com/https://www.facebook.com/InObscuriahttps://twitter.com/inobscuriahttps://www.instagram.com/inobscuria/Buy cool stuff with our logo on it!: https://www.redbubble.com/people/InObscuria?asc=uIf you want to hear Robert and Kevin's band from the late 90s – early 00s BIG JACK PNEUMATIC, check it out here: https://bigjackpnuematic.bandcamp.com/If you'd like to check out Kevin's band THE SWEAR, take a listen on all streaming services or pick up a digital copy of their latest release here: https://theswear.bandcamp.com/Check out Robert's amazing fire sculptures and metal workings here: http://flamewerx.com/

fWotD Episode 2656: Worlds (Porter Robinson album) Welcome to Featured Wiki of the Day, your daily dose of knowledge from Wikipedia’s finest articles. The featured article for Monday, 12 August 2024 is Worlds (Porter Robinson album).Worlds is the debut studio album by the American electronic music producer Porter Robinson, released on August 12, 2014, by Astralwerks. Initially known for his heavier bass-centric production, Robinson became increasingly dissatisfied with the electronic dance music (EDM) genre, believing it limited his artistic expression. In 2012, Robinson released his first song with a greater emphasis on melody, "Language", and decided thereafter to prioritize aesthetic and emotional qualities in his work. He was inspired by media that evoked nostalgia for his childhood, and wrote music integrating elements taken from anime, films, and sounds from 1990s video games.Robinson's primary inspirations for Worlds were Daft Punk's Discovery (2001) and Kanye West's Graduation (2007). Critics described the work as electropop, noting similarities to the styles of M83 and Passion Pit. In late 2013, a bidding war ensued to determine which label was to release the record. The album was preceded by four singles: "Sea of Voices", "Sad Machine", "Lionhearted", and "Flicker", and promoted with a tour in North America and Europe.Worlds was well-received by most critics, who praised it as innovative and forecasted a promising career for Robinson, though others felt the record lacked coherence or was unexciting. Retrospectively, the album was noted for its impact on the EDM scene. It charted in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the Netherlands. Following Worlds's positive reception, Robinson felt pressured to write an appropriate follow-up work. As a result, he experienced a period of writer's block and depression, leading to the seven-year gap until his next studio album, Nurture (2021).This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 00:52 UTC on Monday, 12 August 2024.For the full current version of the article, see Worlds (Porter Robinson album) on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm neural Niamh.

Tony Hoffer is most known for his colorful, gritty productions and mixes that pop out of the speakers. His work over the years spans across alternative, electronic, rock, pop and indie. Hoffer spent his early years in Miami making music on 2 cassette decks and a reel-to-reel machine. As a teenager, he moved to Los Angeles and went ‘hi-tech' upgrading to a Tascam 4-track cassette deck falling in love with music and the art of production. Tony started off playing guitar in ‘post-punk' bands and fell in love with sampling his favorite post-punk records (Cure, Chameleons, Bauhaus) into his own songs and productions. His big break was co-producing Beck's double Grammy nominated album ‘Midnite Vultures' which was a hybrid of intricate sampling and live playing. That initially led to him to working with Air, Phoenix and Supergrass. Some additional credits include: M83, The Kooks, Belle & Sebastian, Silversun Pickups, The Fratellis, Depeche Mode, Fitz & The Tantrums, Blondie, Metric, Chromeo, Dirty Heads, The Snuts, Rainbow Kitten Surprise and Ziggy Marley. Tony's productions and mixes have been nominated and/or won 7 Grammy's (US), 4 Juno's (Canada), 2 Aria's (Australia) and the Mercury Prize (UK). M83 - "Mirror," a 2023 single on M83 Recording Inc/Mute It's not déjà vu: if you feel like you've heard this M83 song before, you may have! Today's Song of the Day dates back to the 2011 album Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, and was released as a hidden track found as a secret download in the packaging of the CD. For those who don't own a CD player anymore, the song was then re-released as a Record Store Day exclusive 7-inch single in 2012. And now, the fan-favorite track has been re-re-released as a digital single. "It's a track that never came out digitally and we close our shows with that song," M83 mastermind Anthony Gonzalez told Billboard. "The response of the audience has been great so far, and it's an unknown song that deserves to be properly released in my opinion.” Read the full story at KEXP.orgSupport the show: https://www.kexp.org/donateSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

M83 - "Amnesia" from the 2023 album Fantasy on Mute. Earlier this month, M83 shared six songs from their forthcoming ninth LP Fantasy, due out March 17th via Mute. In a press release, primary songwriter/frontman Anthony Gonzalez claims it'll be his most intimate release yet. "I wanted to be more present lyrically and vocally even if that was daunting at first. I thought if I could achieve that, this album will be more personal than those that came before.” He adds, “I wanted this record to be very impactful live. The idea was to come back with something closer to the energy of [his 2005 album] Before the Dawn Heals Us. The combination of guitars and synths is always in my music, but it's maybe more present on this new record than on the previous ones.” You can experience the impact yourself when M83 stops in Seattle for two dates at Showbox SoDo on May 10th and 11th.
