Even though Jess is such an avid learner, she thought that her schooling was over with her dramatic introduction to motherhood, but God had other plans for her. With the encouragement of a professor, Jess decided to pursue further education. A difficult delivery with her second child made Jess reconsider her course, but as she continued to pursue it, her education opened doors for her to work for two non-profit organizations, Liahona and Momni (for more information on these organizations, see links below). https://liahonachildren.org/ https://www.momni.com/ Follow us on Instagram @wordvomitthepodcast for updates on Heather and Aubrey's lives, more about those we interview and new episodes. Episode 34 is a Guerrillapreneur News show where we bring you news, views and predictions about the #Gig and #sharingeconomies that are expected to grow to $335B by 2025.I was in San Francisco last week at the #TechCrunchDisrupt Conference and met with dozens of fascinating #sharingeconomy, #robotics and #artificialintelligence startups. I attended lectures and panel discussions that featured executives from Uber (including Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi), Google, and Apple. These executives provided their perspective on the future the global economy. I can't wait share audio from interviews I conducted with startups that I believe are going to disrupt the markets where they play. Subscribe to the Guerrillapreneur Podcast and its sister podcast Gigging: Everything and Sharing Economy to make sure you catch all these interview. In this episode, I focused on Guerrillapreneur News that was made at the TechCrunch Disrupt Conference. First, I discuss whether Robot should pay taxes. #BillGates first recommended that as robots displace human workers, the owners of these robots should pay taxes to help ensure that income inequality does not destabilize the world's social fabric. Gates points to the fact that the US tax code favors the investments in "capital assets" over investments in human capital (labor). Second, we review Fit Small Business' (#fitsmallbusiness) Top Ten Gig Employer list and ask the question why Uber and Airbnb are left off the list. The net result is that I plan to launch the first annual Guerrillapreneur Top Ten Sharing Economy Employer List. If you want to help me develop the criteria for ranking these companies, please reach out to me on Twitter @guerillapreneur. Third, I get on my soapbox and decry the stupidity of new NYC legislation that limits the number of Uber and Lyft cars that can operate in the City. NYC's City Council also passed legislation that requires Airbnb to turn over all its host information to the City. Experts believe this registration requirement is the first step to new fee and license requirements that would make it difficult for Airbnb hosts to operate in the City. Fourth, I introduce you to two new sharing economy startups, #Momni and #Vygo. #Momni matches Moms who want to offer childcare services with Moms who need childcare services. #Vygo matches top students (tutors) with students who need help with their coursework. Finally, I give #JetSmarter a pat on the back because they stopped being dumb. Last year, JetSmarter eliminated its $5K membership fees and its $3K initiation fees. As soon as they eliminated these fees, demand for their service tripled! The world of the sharing economy is evolving and in some cases the push back from the Empire is very disturbing.
