She has always been afraid of the dark — not in a way that fades with age, and not in places where fear can be explained. The darkness that unsettles her feels deliberate, as if it knows where to wait. And nowhere has it ever felt stronger than the house where she grew up. Even now, decades later, walking through that property at night feels different. The fear doesn't chase her when she travels. It doesn't follow her into other cities. It stays anchored to the land — to certain corners of the yard, to the orchard behind the house, to spaces that seem to remember her. Over the years, strange moments piled up. Unexplained panic. Silent phone calls. Figures seen in the dark. A dog reacting to something no one else could see. Some encounters felt threatening. Others strangely calm. One visitation brought reassurance instead of fear — raising questions she never expected to ask. This is the story about what happens when someone finally stops running from the dark — and realizes the haunting may not have the power they once believed it did. #Ghosts #HauntedHouse #RealHaunting #ParanormalExperience #FearOfTheDark #Unexplained #GhostStories #TrueParanormal #CreepyEncounters #HauntedLand Love real ghost stories? Early success often builds an identity around being the problem-solver, the decision-maker, and the smartest person in the room. In this episode, Brandon explains why that identity eventually becomes a growth constraint. He breaks down the difference between competence and control, why letting others be right feels emotionally difficult, and how dominance shuts down psychological safety. You'll learn why high-performing teams don't need the smartest leader, how ego hides inside good intentions, and what happens when leaders shift from solving problems to designing environments where others can solve them. If you're leading a growing team and feel stretched thin, this episode shows what might need to change next.
By the time a woman reaches midlife, she has usually learned the rules: stay pleasant, stay young-looking, stay non-threatening. Don't take up too much space. Don't show the edges. And definitely don't age out loud. The cost of that agreement, however, is the slow erasure of her voice, her authority, and her truth. In this episode, I sit down with actress Constance Zimmer to talk about aging in Hollywood, the fear and grief that can come when opportunities narrow after 50, and the sovereignty that emerges when women refuse to go quiet. Constance shares the story behind her iconic Entourage audition, how her most "unlikable" characters became the most relatable, and why she's now building spaces for women to tell midlife stories across stage, screen, and community. Inside this episode, we explore: The myth that actors "choose" roles - and what it's really like when opportunity chooses you How Constance landed Entourage by walking in with nothing to prove and everything to own What shifts for women after 50 in Hollywood - and why the silence can feel terrifying Why midlife often becomes a creative ignition point tied to purpose and legacy The vision behind The Midlife Monologues and creating platforms where women's stories are centered The cultural cost of erasing women's aging faces - and the message it sends to our daughters How women heal through truth-telling, witnessing, and community - without fixing or performing This episode is for the woman who can feel the old programming creep in - the voice that says, "Stay likable. Stay small. Stay young." If this conversation moves something in you, share it with a sister who needs the reminder. Because that's what sisters do. Ed Steer believes the recent parabolic move in silver is a clear case of massive short positions being covered, as the bullion banks who have been manipulating prices for decades are coming face-to-face with reality in an event Ted Butler once referred to as the bonfire of the silver shorts. Ed points out that this is just the beginning of true price discovery in the silver market and when the curtain is pulled away and the truth is revealed, silver will skyrocket to levels previously thought unimaginable.Get Your 'Stack Silver Not Fiat' Shirt: https://commodity-culture-shop.fourthwall.com/products/stack-silver-not-fiat-t-shirtEd Steer's Gold and Silver Digest: https://edsteergoldsilver.comTed Butler Article, 'Bonfire of the Silver Shorts': https://silverseek.com/article/bonfire-silver-shortsTed Butler Article, 'Take it to the Limit - Silver': https://news.silverseek.com/TedButler/1072818610.phpFollow Jesse Day on X: https://x.com/jessebdayCommodity Culture on Youtube: https://youtube.com/c/CommodityCulture
What if the universe has been leaving you breadcrumbs all along, and you've been too busy planning to notice them?Host, Dr. Katie Deming shares how she completely transformed her approach to life after her shared death experience and leaving Western medicine. Instead of forcing goals and pushing through obstacles, she now follows signs and synchronicities that appear in her daily life. She explains the difference between these two concepts and why paying attention to them opens up possibilities you could never plan for yourself. Through personal stories that range from broken laptops to missing keys, she shows how even frustrating moments might be protecting you from something you can't see yet.The heart of the conversation centers on a remarkable story involving a Rolex watch, a midnight intuition, and a dating app Dr. Katie swore she'd never use. What unfolded demonstrates how following seemingly illogical guidance can lead to connections and openings that feel almost magical. In this episode of The Winston Marshall Show, I sit down with historian and writer Ed West for a wide-ranging conversation on Islam, Christianity, and the civilisational history shaping Britain, Europe, and the modern West.We begin with the Battle of Tours in 732, and examine whether Christian resistance prevented Europe from becoming Muslim, before tracing the rapid expansion of Islam across the Middle East, North Africa, and Iberia. Ed explains the role of warfare, taxation, and power in religious conversion, and challenges modern myths about a peaceful Islamic golden age.The discussion moves through the Crusades, Britain's historical relationship with Islam, Barbary piracy, and Christian slavery, before turning to the decline of Christianity in the Middle East, and the radicalisation of Islam in Western diaspora communities. We also debate whether Britain and America are Christian or Judeo-Christian societies, exploring the biblical foundations of English law, the influence of the Old Testament, and why this question has returned amid modern political and cultural conflict.A sharp historical conversation about religion, war, identity, and what the past reveals about the present.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------To see more exclusive content and interviews consider subscribing to my substack here: https://www.winstonmarshall.co.uk/-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA:Substack: https://www.winstonmarshall.co.uk/X: https://twitter.com/mrwinmarshallInsta: https://www.instagram.com/winstonmarshallLinktree: https://linktr.ee/winstonmarshall----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Chapters 00:00 Introduction 04:23 The Role of Christianity in European Resistance24:04 The Crusades and the Relationship Between Christianity and Islam 40:08 The British Relationship with Islam1:01:45 The Decline of the Ottoman Empire and the Rise of British Influence1:04:48 The Judeo-Christian Tradition in Britain1:11:03 Judeo-Christian Influence in English History1:15:04 Young Americans and Political Movements1:18:34 Interventionism and Anti-Interventionism in American Politics1:21:16 The Decline of Christianity in the Middle East Hosted on Acast. The Moment Time Stopped: A Child Becomes Pure Being
There was a time when fame and money felt like the end goal: likes, numbers, proximity to power, and the illusion of “making it.” In this episode, I'm getting painfully honest about my past obsession with visibility and validation, and how I learned to unlearn it. We talk about redefining success, why quality work matters more than clout, and how chasing recognition can quietly ruin your relationship with creativity. I also revisit the messy definition of fame, the roots of success, nepotism in the industry, and what it actually means to build something that lasts. If you're a creative who's ever felt torn between art and attention, this one's for you.
What happens when you get everything you thought you wanted, and it still doesn't feel like enough? For Paul Ollinger, that question surfaced after leaving Facebook with financial freedom in his early forties. On paper, it was success. In reality, it sparked a deeper reckoning about identity, purpose, and what actually makes a life feel whole. In this conversation, Paul reflects on the disorienting space that can follow achievement, the moment he realised money had stopped being the motivator he thought it was, and the uncomfortable freedom of having no obvious next step. He explores the tension between ambition and contentment, why work plays such a powerful role in belonging, and how redefining happiness became essential rather than optional. This episode is an honest look at what really defines success … and a reminder that fulfilment doesn't begin when you reach the number, but when you ask better questions about what comes next. Send us a textWhat if the resistance you're seeing isn't defiance—it's a clue?In this episode, Dr. Donna Spangler shares the coaching breakthrough that changed everything: She stopped trying to convince teachers, and they started showing up with purpose, ownership, and even excitement. After going through The Resistance Remedy course, Donna realized she wasn't dealing with a skill gap—she was missing the belief gap. Once she started listening for mindset signals like value, belonging, and ownership, her entire coaching approach shifted. Teachers moved from polite compliance to full engagement. They initiated change. They emailed saying they were excited to teach again. She stopped relying on instinct and started coaching with intention. That's when everything changed.Donna's biggest realization? Resistance isn't a roadblock. It's a message. And when you know how to listen for it, you don't just coach better. In Kevin Staples' mind, there was always a point where the trip would end. He didn't expect to get through. The goal wasn't success — it was simply to go far enough to say he'd tried. To ride up to the wall, touch it, and be told to turn back. So he kept doing exactly that. Showing up. Asking the question. Taking one more step, fully expecting it to be the last. That isn't how it played out. By the time Kevin rode his motorcycle home, the road — and the world around him — looked very different than it had when he left.

In this special end-of-year episode of the ArtTactic Podcast, host Adam Green is joined by Brian Boucher, senior market reporter at ARTnews, to unpack one of the most confounding years the art market has seen in recent memory. Building on Boucher's recent ARTnews article in which he described the year as “the year the art market stopped making sense,” the conversation explores the sharp contrasts between record-setting auction sales and softer performances elsewhere, the wildly different energy levels across major art fairs and what the wave of gallery closures might signal about deeper structural pressures in the gallery model. They also dig into the rise of increasingly fragmented micro-markets driven by individual artists and career stages, and why this makes it so difficult to draw broad conclusions about the market as a whole. The episode closes with a forward-looking discussion on how collectors, galleries, and auction houses are feeling as they head into 2026, and whether cautious optimism may finally be taking hold.
In this episode, James talks about something he hasn't addressed before: what happens when the communication tools everyone recommends simply don't work for your child. When James's nonverbal son, Lucas, couldn't physically use American Sign Language due to dexterity challenges, it felt like yet another failure in a long list of “solutions” that sounded good on paper but didn't work in real life. Instead of forcing Lucas to fit a system that wasn't built for him, James made a different choice. They changed the system. This episode explores how gesture-based communication evolved in their home, why being understood matters more than doing things “the right way,” and how connection, safety, and dignity often come before progress charts and programs. If you've ever worried you were doing it wrong, this conversation is for you. It's Here! They were driving through the snow on Christmas Eve, tired, cold, and miles from anywhere familiar. The road was dark, the trees unlit, and the snowfall just heavy enough to make every mile feel uncertain. When the car stalled in the middle of a remote stretch of highway, it didn't feel dramatic—it felt final. No cell service. No passing traffic. No footprints or tire tracks in the snow. Just silence. Then headlights appeared where none should have been. A stranger stopped. Said the right things. Fixed a problem that shouldn't have been fixable. Refused money. Wished them a safe trip home for Christmas—and vanished back into the dark. Moments later, the road no longer looked the same. Years later, details about that night still don't add up. The traffic that suddenly appeared. The mechanical failure returned the next morning. The timing was just a little too perfect. This week, in a special holiday edition of The Dr. Hyman Show, I'm revisiting a powerful conversation with Dr. Aseem Malhotra, a leading cardiologist and advocate for ethical, evidence-based medicine, where we unpacked the uncomfortable truths about cholesterol, statins, and what really drives heart disease. Wishing you a peaceful holiday week. We unpack: • Why LDL cholesterol isn't the whole story when it comes to heart disease • How reducing inflammation and insulin resistance can better protect your heart • What statins can—and can't—do to improve real cardiovascular outcomes • How industry influence shapes the prescriptions patients receive Better heart health starts with better information and real progress begins when we stop treating numbers and start treating what's actually causing disease. Hope you have a peaceful holiday week. I look forward to continuing this journey together in the new year. I used to be that guy wandering Walmart on Christmas Eve at midnight looking for a toaster. One year I stopped and looked around. There were a bunch of us. All guys. All looking lost in the kitchen section. The employees were looking at us with pity. That's when I decided never again. Decision-making is one of your most powerful personal growth tools. As we head into 2026, you're going to need it. The problem? We're human. We're emotional. And logic doesn't always win the battle when feelings show up. Time to figure out how to make that work for you. Featured Story I bought a motorcycle once without planning to. Stopped in for coffee. Left two and a half hours later with a brand new Harley. The salesman got me excited. I hadn't seen the new models up close. My wife was looking at me like I'd lost my mind. Then he said those magic words: "Want to talk numbers?" Emotions went away instantly. We spent the next hour going back and forth on logic and math. Some anger showed up too because that's how negotiations work. But I wanted that bike. Eventually we hit the right number. That's when emotions came rushing back. At least until we looked at the checking account. Important Points Decision-making is one of your most powerful tools in your personal growth toolbox, but most of us struggle with it because we're caught between logic and emotion. Almost everything in life should be easy because it's already been done, but being human means emotions mess with the logical equation every single time. Like a movie hero, you'll stay stuck until the situation forces action, then suddenly logic kicks in and you know exactly what to do. Memorable Quotes "Decision-making is one of your most powerful tools in your personal growth toolbox." "As much as we all can agree it should be easy, using logic to get what we want doesn't have a whole bunch to do with being a human." "I was one of several guys, all guys wandering around the store, aimlessly looking for something in the kitchen section because you forgot to get the good stuff." Scott's Three-Step Approach Recognize you're in the middle of an epic battle between logic and emotion, and stop pretending one will magically win over the other. Court filings in the Mickey Stines case reveal a chilling reality: everyone saw the breakdown coming — and no one had the power to stop it. An elected Kentucky sheriff spiraled publicly. He called dead relatives on his phone. Lost weight rapidly. Stopped sleeping. Displayed paranoia. His own staff pushed him to see a doctor. The diagnosis? Acute stress reaction. The response? Send him home — with his badge, his gun, and his authority untouched. Twenty-four hours later, Judge Kevin Mullins was shot nine times in his own chambers. In this deep-dive, retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer exposes the structural failures that allowed this to happen. Kentucky has no red flag law. An elected sheriff cannot be suspended by subordinates. There was no mechanism to disarm him — even as multiple people recognized he was in crisis. We examine the civil lawsuit accusing sheriff's office employees of failing to warn Judge Mullins, and their defense that Kentucky law imposed no duty to act. Is that legally sound? Is it morally defensible? This isn't just a tragedy — it's a systems failure. One that raises terrifying questions about authority, mental health, and what happens when the person in crisis sits at the very top of the chain of command. #MickeyStines #JudgeMullins #JenniferCoffindaffer #TrueCrime #SystemicFailure #MentalHealthCrisis #HiddenKillers #FBIAnalysis #KentuckyCase Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? This is a solo episode, and it's just me talking honestly about the show, the journey, and what podcasting has turned into for me. Over the last couple of years, I've gotten a lot more comfortable doing this. Not because I figured out some secret formula, but because I stopped trying to sound polished and started showing up as myself. This episode is really about authenticity, building real connections, and why I believe the best podcasts feel more like conversations than interviews. I talk about podcast growth, not in terms of downloads or numbers, but in terms of trust, relationships, and consistency. I share why I don't script interviews, why I don't overprepare, and how focusing on people instead of performance has changed everything for me as a podcast host. If you're a podcaster, creator, entrepreneur, or just someone trying to find your voice, there's a lot in here about confidence, curiosity, and letting things unfold naturally. Podcasting has become my home base, a place where leadership, personal growth, and meaningful conversation all come together. I'm incredibly grateful for the guests who've trusted me, the relationships that have grown beyond the mic, and the listeners who've stuck around and supported the show. This episode is really a thank you and a bit of a reflection on where I am and where I think this is headed. If this conversation resonates with you, share it with someone who might get something out of it. That's how Ripples start. Thanks for being here. Let's Ripple!!! In my recent episode with Alissa Williams I shared a little bit about my thinking for 2026. In this 20-minute solo episode I go a bit deeper into why I'm thinking about giving up scrapbooking projects and what I'm planning to do instead. I can't wait to hear your reaction to my semi-organized thoughts, which was recorded in my car in the parking lot of a Starbucks while Emily was at volleyball practice.Links MentionedStacy Julian Library of MemoriesAli Edwards December DailyBlog Post: Finishing 12 Years of December DailyAli Edwards Week In The LifeHeidi Swapp's Stop The BlurShannan Manton on Instagram

I never expected an innocent moment to change how I show up online as a mom, but one experience stopped me in my tracks and forced me to ask harder questions about privacy, protection, and wisdom in a digital world. In today's episode, I'm sharing the story behind why we stopped sharing our kids' faces online and the deeper convictions, concerns, and discernment that shaped that decision. If you've ever felt even a small hesitation about sharing your kids online, this conversation is for you. There's no one-size-fits-all answer but there is wisdom in listening, praying, and choosing the most protective path when you're unsure. What You'll LearnWhat happened when a video of my children went viral and why it became a turning pointThe realities of online privacy, consent, and how little control we actually have once something is publicWhy AI, facial recognition, and future tech developments raised new concerns for me as a parentHow to share your motherhood journey without exploiting your child's childhoodEncouragement for navigating parenting decisions with conviction, grace, and flexibilityLinksOrder a Copy of "Be Good to Your Body"Low Tox Toddle GuideVaccine Strategy Class (for Parents)FREE Postpartum Recipe Bundle Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
