Looks Unfamiliar is a podcast in which writer and occasional broadcaster Tim Worthington talks to a guest about some of the things that they remember that nobody else ever seems to. This is a collection of highlights from shows thirty one to thirty six, featuring Justin Lewis on Neither Fish Nor Flesh by Terence Trent D'Arby, Mark Thompson on Libby's Moonshine, Stephen Brotherstone and Dave Lawrence on The Lone Ranger by Quantum Jump, Stephen O'Brien on Old Fashioned Christmas by Anne Charleston and Ian Smith, Garreth F. Hirons on The Ghosts Of Oxford Street, Vikki Gregorich and Jeff Lewis on The Secret Cabaret, Emma Burnell on Melody Radio and Paul Cornell on Terry Wogan's insistence on playing records that resolutely refused to become hits. Along the way we'll be finding out what happens when you continually ask a radio station that doesn't have Ghostbusters to play Ghostbusters, revisiting the forgotten link between Rupert And The Frog Song and Cannibal Holocaust, debating the identity of 'soft lad who stood on a pole', celebrating the career of 'DJ Ron', revealing how to avoid getting mistaken for an extra on Neighbours, singing a medley of all two and a half records owned by Radio Merseyside, and trying not to think about what ‘Dog Of Finland’ might entail. Plus there's some little-heard extra bits of chat with Emma, Stephen and Mark as well as something you might not have heard before - Tim on Perfect Night In talking to Neil Perryman about the BBC edits of The Monkees... 10 years! That’s a whole lot of talking by three jaunty Canadians about a British television program of little repute by the name of Professor Whom. But after a smattering of news, the Three Who Rule move quickly on to an extended series of interviews with the fine people with whom we’ve shared our podcasting adventures with, including: Ken Deep of Podshock fame, Deborah Stanish, Katrina Griffiths and Erika Ensign of Verity!, Chip Sudderth of the Two Minute Time Lord, and Simon Harries, John Williams and Neil Perryman of Tachyon TV! Phew! Here’s to ten more years of meandering drivel from Canadian interlopers who have no right to talk of Britain’s televisual crown jewel! Check out the show notes at http://www.radiofreeskaro.com

With less than a week until "The Day of the Doctor", the Two Who Rule (Warren and Steven, Chris was on assignment with UNIT) were positively giddy with anticipation for the 50th anniversary adventure to hit their eye bulbs in glorious 3D. But before that momentous event, the BBC released “The Night of the Doctor,” with a shocking appearance by Paul McGann! Lest you think that was the only treat for Whovians this week, a 2-minute clip from Day of the Doctor was also released in conjunction with Children in Need (which we will not discuss here, spoilerphobes), and various idents and other fripfrap also helped to fuel the hype machine. But, let’s be honest, what you’re really here for is our final Miniscope, this time with Richard Molesworth (author of a new book called "Robert Holmes: A Life in Words") discussing the Phillip Hinchcliffe era. We’ve very much enjoyed doing these Miniscopes, and we hope you’ve enjoyed listening to them. And three lucky listeners won copies of Adventures with the Wife in Space, written by friend of the show (and last week’s guest!) Neil Perryman! Who were the winners? The Doctor Who rumour mill was in full blown chaos this week with Twelfth Doctor casting rumours giving way to tales of hoards of missing episodes being recovered. The Two Who Rule (Chris managed to escape the mongering of said rumours) neatly sidestepped harmless (or harmful) speculation by delving into talk of the future of the film industry and 3D TV and its relation to Doctor Who. But Chris returns (and Warren departs) to talk to Neil Perryman, dear friend and author who is writing the upcoming Adventures of the Wife in Space book, based on his hugely successful blog. With the end of Series 6.1 comes a time for reflection… and what better way to genuflect than with two of the members of Tachyon TV, Neil Perryman and John Williams? Fresh off “A Good Man Goes to War,” the houses of Tachyon and Skaro offered their (somewhat surprisingly) sunny and pleasant feelings towards the last batch of Who stories we’ll see until the fall, as well as digressing about Neil’s ongoing Adventures With the Wife in Space blog (read by none other than Doctor Who production team head Steven Moffat, amongst others) and other matters of import. A small note; the Tachyon TV segment was recorded before fan controversy erupted for the umpteenth time over next year’s schedule of shows, so that issue was (thankfully) never raised amongst the good feelings and bonhomie. T minus 1 day until The Beast Below. Welcome to this, the 4rd HHG2W: Mostly Harmless Cutaway. This episode was never supposed to exist. Think of it as a random bowl of petunias or miraculously improbable sperm whale that really serves no other purpose, but to simply be. Today Eric & Megan... well mostly Eric goes nuts with some crazy potential series 5 / Moffat fanboy conspiracies that have been permeating his brain. Not only that, but Eric also shares 1 important point he failed to bring up during our previous Doctor Who series 5 episode, The Eleventh Hour review. WARNING: this discussion contains SPOILERS or at the very least we assume you have already seen The Eleventh Hour. During this show we make special mention of and highly recommend the Radio Free Skaro podcast, especially their Eleventh Hour reaction episode #192 - Operation Golden Hour. Coincidentally guesting on that episode was Tacyon TV podcast's very own Neil Perryman (@neilperryman). Please check out his fantastic collaborative Doctor Who Blog: Behind the Sofa. Primarily his Eleventh Hour review: Up to Eleven... For those unaware, this is not the only podcast Eric is a part of. He got started in podcasting regularly over on the Sci-Fi Party Line podcast where Doctor Who & Torchwood et al are occasionally reviewed. You can find their most recent Doctor Who review here: [Sci-Fi Party Line #58 Doctor Who: Eleventh Hour] Disclaimer: Sorry for the extra heavy dose of bloviation. Sorry if that's just not your cup of tea. If not, that is the exact reason this episode exists all on its own, so as not to bother or encroach upon our forthcoming review of The Beast Below. Look for it sometime Sunday evening or Monday at the latest. You gotta give Megan a pat on the back for being such a team player by volunteering to be the designated captive audience for Eric's fanboy musings. To aid in the retrospective the Three Who Rule dragged Tachyon TV's own Neil Perryman kicking and screaming into the (virtual) recording booth, Vinvocci style.
