Let's go forward in time to the past so we can get back to the future and kill our grandfather and be our own ancestor while we step on a bug and change the course of evolution 200 million years in the future and doom the Morlocks to a date with Doctor Who, while Bill and Ted drive a Delorean in the Old West and save Fry's dog as it waits out the front of the Pizza place… Time travel is fun to talk about, but it's easy to mess up because paradoxes in plots pop up all over the place as timelines intersect and cross over and over, getting tangled and logically prevent events that have already happened from happening! Here we chat about some of that as well as our fave time travel stories, like Dr Who, Bill and Ted, The Tomorrow People, Playing Beati Bow, Back to the Future, The Time Machine, A Connecticut Yankee in the Court of King Arthur, Army of Darkness, Outlander etc. Examples abound! Time travel stories can allow us as an audience to visit a distant time with ourselves looking at the future or past through the eyes of the time traveller, or their naive helper like Marty from Back to the Future or one of Dr Who's companions. They can give us outlandish adventures or bizarre and complex mysteries that make the most of the time paradoxes. Time travel is fantasy fiction for us because we can only go forwards at the same rate… but it exists in physics as a logical theory and paradoxes can be overcome in specific ways, so it's a possibility, just one that no one can work out how to usefully achieve. Ngāti Kuri is hosting a music festival  on Saturday, May 21, that celebrates the iwi's cracking success in leading a Covid-19 vaccination drive over the summer up in the northernmost points in Aotearoa.  Headline acts at the massive party include Tomorrow People, 1814, Ladi 6, Che-Fu and Savage. Matthew hails from New York, and Pearl from Mexico. First broadcast on FAB RADIO INTERNATIONAL at 19:00 on September 12th 2021 I've been a little bit poorly-sick lately, so, in order to cheer myself up in the insomniac wee-small hours, I've been rattling through some of the DVDs I've been accumulating of 1970s television dramas. So this meant watching the jolly japes of a post-apocalyptic Britain in which the people have turned against the machines; a cheeky romp to a village doomed to repeat the same tragic cycle of events throughout eternity; and a story from a series about self-proclaimed Superior Beings in which they cross paths with a space alien who is using humanity's fundamental racial hatred to create enough energy to finally release his species from their earthly prison. It's all got terribly surreal and bewildering, at least in my fevered imagination. Joining me to haul me kicking and screaming me back to some semblance of reality is returning regular guest WARREN CUMMINGS, and we have a jolly natter about THE CHANGES, CHILDREN OF THE STONES (a particular favourite of his), and THE TOMORROW PEOPLE story - "The Blue And The Green". Finally in this episode I include the last few minutes of my interview with ANDREW-MARK THOMPSON which formed the bulk of last week's episode but, because I was struggling a little with my editing skills for a while, didn't quite fit the time-slot.
