The original run of A Ghost Story for Christmas aired on the BBC from 1971 to 1978, bringing classic ghost stories to television and keeping alive the tradition of sharing supernatural tales during the Christmas season. In our journey through the series, we've covered A Warning to the Curious and The Signalman in Episode 21, Whistle and I'll Come to You and Stigma in Episode 32, and The Stalls of Barchester alongside The Treasure of Abbot Thomas in Episodes 41a and 41b. Just five days ago, on Christmas Eve, we delved into The Ash Tree. If you missed it, you can find it in our podcast feed. And tonight, as we stand on the brink of the space year 2025, we're excited to bring you Lost Hearts. Written by Robin Chapman, produced by Rosemary Hill, and directed by the series' creator Lawrence Gordon Clark, Lost Hearts is based on the 1895 ghost story of the same name by M.R. James. It first aired on BBC1 on December 25, 1973, marking the first installment in the series to be broadcast on Christmas Day itself—and one of only three to ever air on that date. Robin Chapman also wrote 30 episodes of Tales of the Unexpected. (Seek out episode 29, where good old Bernard Cribbins makes an appearance.) The film features Joseph O'Conor as Mr. Abney. O'Conor lent his voice to the narrator in (the best Muppet movie) The Dark Crystal, played Mr. Brownlow in Oliver! (cue James mentioning the exclamation point here), and portrayed the Coroner in The Gorgon—but more on that soon. Simon Gipps-Kent plays Stephen, the young protagonist. Tragically, Gipps-Kent passed away at just 28 years old. However, in his brief career, he appeared in several notable films and TV shows of interest to our listener. He played Paul in The Tomorrow People, had a brief role in Quadrophenia, portrayed Seth in the Doctor Who serial The Horns of Nimon, and starred in something called A Traveller in Time from 1978. which was filmed at Babington House, a farmhouse owned by the parents of Blue Peter presenter Simon Groom. In 2018, Severn Film Productions released a new adaptation of Lost Hearts, directed by Max Van De Banks. This version updated the story to the 1940s (and later 1953). After the death of Stephen's parents, the young boy is evacuated to the countryside during World War II. Unusually, this production was filmed in two parts: the main elements were shot in 2005, while the beginning and ending scenes were filmed in 2016. Louis Newton, who played Stephen in 2005, returned to portray him as a young man recounting the events to his bride-to-be ten years later. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. We come to the end of the line. It's the final episode. The finale of the show. The day that tomorrow will never come... In this last episode of Tomorrow People, We catch up with Jed making a one man assault on Ultra, where he finds Roger who asks Jed to kill him to stop the machine. But it is too late. The machine has absorbed all of his powers. Stephen is desperate to stop The Founder and save the humans. But Cara pulls him back from breaking the prime barrier to become a killer. Cara, Stephen, Russell, John and Astrid use Roger's plan to distract the killer Breakouts. Stephen then teleports inside and battles The Founder in an epic triple T power showdown. He prevails and sends The Founder and the machine into another dimension. Meanwhile, outside, Natalie gets the drop on Cara and shoots her from behind. Stephen once again is just a bit too late to save her, and in an animalistic scream, discovers he can reverse time, and grabs the gun from Natalie before she fires! Breakouts from all over the world come to the Lair seeking Stephen. They take over ULTRA as their new lair. Jed has discovered that he can use Roger's DNA to restore John's powers. But it wipes his memories. Jed sells the paranormal super soldier idea to the government using John as his example. We loved covering this series and think The CW missed the mark by cancelling it. It had great writing, acting and pacing. We can't help but wonder if it came out a year or so later how many seasons we could have gotten. It has been a fun ride, and we are glad you were along with us for it! The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. John has been released from ULTRA. They have stripped him of his powers, and he is a broken man. He sees himself as a burden and a danger to Cara and the other Tomorrow People. He goes topside and confides in Astrid, who reminds him that his worth is not based on his powers. The make a connection and it makes Cara sad. Stephen finds the founder burned but still alive after Hillary's assignation attempt. The founder calls for Cara. He gives her an ultimatum. Deliver Roger to him or he will kill one of the Breakouts every hour. The tracker they got is also an explosive. This causes Natalie and Russell to rebel and force a fight. They take Roger to ULTRA. While Irene and Jed work on a way to prevent the tracker from killing people, they discover that it marks the genes responsible for the powers. Jed uses this to give himself powers. Stephen & Cara track down the repeater that sends the kill signal. They take it down, but not before a 2nd Breakout is killed. Roger is handed over and strapped into the Machine. Stephen sends Marla and Luca away while he goes to stop the Founder. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. The Founder is pushing Stephen to help broker a peace between The Tomorrow People and ULTRA. Russell comes as the representative and is wined and dined by Bathory. Meanwhile Cara is trying to read Hillary in the Lair. But all Hillary is showing is her make out sessions with Stephen. The two groups have a party at a bar and relax. The Founder has found Jed and sends in a team. John and Jed protect Roger but have to get him out. They take him back to the Lair and the clock is ticking. Marla and Jed remove the bullet from Roger and patch him up. Hillary and Stephen head to ULTRA. Stephen uses the machine to get to his dad's mind back. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. After the revelations of the last couple episodes, people are picking sides between Jed and The Founder. The Founder is changing ULTRA to monitor Breakouts, not kill them or remove their powers. The Founder needs Stephen to power a machine that he says Roger created. The machine will take all the Tomorrow People to a refuge safe from all humans. Jed is over the edge. He is forcing Stephen to out himself to Luca. He drags John in to help him convince Stephen that the Founder is evil. Cara is skeptical of both and only looking out for the Tomorrow People. She sees the romance between Stephen and Hillary and The Founder holding sway over him. Stephen is the key to Jed's plans to bring back Roger. He is the key to The Founder's plans. He is key to the survival of Cara's group. But who does he trust? Both he and John are being used like pawns in this big chess game and they are going to lose. 300 EPISODES! We are so thankful that this show that started in 2016 is still going. Along the way we have added hosts and become a podcast network. We are grateful for our listeners who have become friends. We are grateful for the community built around this podcast. We have had fun covering Legends of Tomorrow, Stargirl, Superman & Lois, The Flash, Jupiter's Legacy, X-Men '97, and The Tomorrow People. We have other shows we are looking forward to covering. But none of this would be possible with our you our community of listeners! The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. In this episode we see teenage Roger saving Jed from a bullet. It is an act that set Jed's live in motion. Through flashbacks we see the brothers experimenting and testing Rogers powers. A next step is need. Jed connects them with Hugh Bathory. He is a powerful and driven person with a vision. He coins the term Tomorrow People, because he is one. He has grand plans to help the world with the powers of the Tomorrow People. But Jed demands part of the research go to helping to give humans powers. This sets the two on a adversarial path. Jed convinces Stephen the only path to end the war is killing Bathory, The Founder. They need John to kill him. It takes some hard conversations between Jed and Stephen and Jed and John, but they move forward. In the end it takes Jed & TIM hacking The Founder's security, Cassie distracting her dad, and a battle for John & Stephen to get to him. But in the end The Founder says all of this was Jed's plan to drive a wedge between them. He says he and Roger built the machine to help the Tomorrow People move forward. Cassie pushes Stephen out of the way and John fire the gun. The Founder deflects it and it hits and kills Cassie. Jed is on the run, and we don't know who to trust. Cara is getting flashes of a new Breakout. She is in her head just like Stephen was. Tim helps narrow down the location to Lincoln Center. Cara and Russell find her. The ballerina breakout is Cara's sister Sophie. Sophie is talented and has been working hard to shine as a ballerina. The powers are nothing that she wants. The sisters reconnect and with the help of Astrid, Sophie sees who Cara really is. Cara cannot crush her sister's dreams and imprison her in the Tomorrow People's life. So, she has Stephen wipe Sophie from ULTRA's data base. With the help of a D Chip bracelet, Sophie can live her life. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. Stephen, Russell and TIM have discovered that the piece of tech Stephen found is a key tied to his dad's DNA. It means that his body is still out there. Marla volunteers to find out the location from Jed. But her real motivation to be with him is to escape with him. She is pregnant with their child. The encounter does not go well, and she is saved by John. She only gets one image from Jed, a butcher's shop. But John remembers it from his youth with Jed. Cara pulls the location from John. Stephen, after a romantic encounter with Hillary, gets to the shop and the key gets him into the chamber where his dad is. But Jed shows up to confront him. There is a new Breakout on the scene that has both the Tomorrow People and Ultra running after them. This masked woman is known as the Red Avenger. She saves humans and leaves a rose as her calling card. It seems back in the day, Russell connected with Talia and as Breakouts, they took casinos worldwide. But Talia wanted more. She wanted to use their powers as superheroes. She left Russell. She knew he was not ready yet. She recruited women like her all over the world to do the same hero work. The Red Avenger in NYC is Mallory, and she is taking down an Asian gang. Russell and Stephen join her in protecting a Judge and his family. Russell feels called to live the hero lifestyle instead of hiding. So, he joins Mallory in stopping a hostage situation. With the help of John, Cara, and Stephen they stop the gang. Russell wants to leave with Mallory, but she says no. Talia shows up and tells him she is proud of him and to continue his work with the Tomorrow People. Hillary sees and admires the Red Avenger's work. It is what she wants and her inability as a kid to stop her family from being killed inspired her to join ULTRA. She makes several confessions to Stephen, and they end up kissing in his bedroom. Flash is back! And just in time too, as things once again take new turns on the Tomorrow People! John rejoins the Breakouts, gets back with Cara, and helps take down Julian, the meniacal bad guy who retruns to wreck havok on them all. Stephen and Jed have a bit of a falling out after he witnesses Jed allowing young Charlotte to be tortured for information, and his humanity comes into question. Plus a new device is discovered, one that Stephen's dad, Roger left behind, and it seems to come alive when he picks it up! What could it be? Jed shows up with an alternative. Stephen comes back to ULTRA and Jed will protect them all. Stephen agrees. However, it takes John talking with Marla to help her see the light. He fills her in on Stephen's double agent status. He tells her Stephen leaving would put the Tomorrow People in danger. She agrees to stay, but she will be waiting up for Stephen each night. We see in flashbacks that Roger left his family to protect them from ULTRA and The Founder. But he did get to say one last goodbye to Marla. We also see that Jed put Roger's body in cryostasis and goes and talks with him regularly. That plays into the main action of this episode. We have what looks like a Tomorrow Person hitman. He gets paid to take out difficult targets and does it well. When Stephen & Hillary capture him and Cara & Russell capture him at the same time, they discover it is twins. One is powered and one is not. Jed is ecstatic because ULTRA has been trying and failing to transfer powers to humans. Having twins would tell them so much. But Cara sends in the powered twin with a gun. The non-powered twin takes it and frees them. He almost kills Jed. But teamwork between Stephen, Hillary and another agent takes him out. Cara wants John to return to the lair, but despite his love for her, he will not be used by her like the twin was. So, they are still at odds. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. Astrid is stuck in the lair of the Break Outs because ULTRA is after her. She can't even talk with her dad without putting his life a risk. This is weighing heavily on Stephen. So, he demands Jed take her off the hit list. But Jed won't. Stephen quits. Hugh, The Founder, has a way around this. He promises Stephen, if he brings in a powerful breakout quietly, he will take Astrid off the list. Stephen agrees and Cara is fine with it. The powerful breakout is Cassie Smythe is the daughter of The Founder. Her mother was a Break Out as well. That makes her a synergist, people how have great control and strong powers. We see that she can teleport 2 cars away at once, the bullets from the police officer's guns, and force etch words in concrete. With the help of TIM, Cara, and Russell, Stephen locates her and engage her in conversation. He puts the power dampening cuff on her, but then ULTRA shows up. It seems she wants to get caught. In the lair, she reveals that she wants her powers stripped from her. She did everything to call attention to herself so her father would have to let ULTRA do it. Her father has been experimenting and want to use her. Cara uses her powers see the experiments were on Cassie. Stephen is captured by ULTRA and about to be mind linked with The Founder, when John gets Cassie to ULTRA. She turns herself in to save Stephen and the other Break Outs. The Founder plays dirty and betrays Stephen, ordering the kill squad to take out Astrid and her dad. Marla is there and prevents them from being killed. Stephen learns his mom is a Tomorrow Person. That makes him a synergist, just like Cassie. Cara and John have been at odds all episode. He is unwilling to let Break Outs be killed or captured by ULTRA. He questions Cara and does it in front of others. Their standoff leads to Cara kicking John out of the lair. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. Hillary is out for herself and is willing to take Stephen down, even if it means getting Astrid killed. ULTRA has a policy that any humans that know of the Tomorrow People must be taken out. Stephen is faced with a dilemma, protect Astrid from ULTRA or his protect his family from Peter. Peter is taking the family camping and Stephen thinks Peter has powers and works for ULTRA. So, he asks to Break Outs to watch Astrid. On the camping trip, Stephen suspects Peter took them there due to the isolation and running water. Stephen even tests Peter twice. But it appears Peter does not have powers. It looks like Luca does. John lets Astrid know that he is there for her. Her music school audition is a setup by ULTRA. But John saves her but catches a bullet. She had to remove the bullet and Cara had to come in to save them from ULTRA. We see John's as a boy who had one human friend and got him killed. It was Stephen's dad who really comforted him. Contact Information: If you want to join in the discussion, you can submit feedback via email to TomorrowsLegendsPodcast@gmail.com. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. We see more of Cara's past. After being kicked out by her father, she is living on the streets and using her powers to steal food. This is when Julian and Nelly rescue her. They are Tomorrow People like her. They know about ULTRA and are on the run from them. But they are stealing on a big scale to survive. Cara is afraid of Julian for good reason but idolizes Nelly. They take her on a heist, and it goes bad as the homeowner interrupts them. Cara lets him go and he comes back with a gun and kills Nelly. Julian fully snaps and tries to kill. He can't but the pain gets him high. Julian has gone around collecting people like him and they are back in town to steal from the rich and get high off their pain. ULTRA has him on their radar and sends the recruits, Stephen, Hillary, and Ray after him. Jed makes it clear; you keep passing his tests or you get depowered. Hillary is powerful and a real rival for Stephen. He wins her trust and keeps her and Ray safe from Jed. But she is crafty and wants to be on top. Charlotte is having major PTSD from her time at The Citadel and her psychic screams are pushing the Break Outs over they edge. They want to kick her out. Cara steps up and says no. They all went through tough times when they first broke out. John agrees to train her. He helps her focus her darkness and pain into power. Cara is taunted by Julian and Russell is beaten half to death by Julian's crew. She takes some of the Break Outs to his hideout and battle ensues. The tide turns and Julian's crew is winning. That is when Cara unleashes Charlotte on them. All but Julian are captured by Stephen and ULTRA. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. Stephen was told by his dad to find his body and Simon Plane. Simon and Jack worked with Professor Crick. As Stephen tries to dig into Simon's files at ULTRA, their computer AI named Alice, alerts Jed. After gaining Jed's trust, Stephen finds out that Simon tried to steal Jack's body. Simon was killed and Jed said he cremated Jack's body. But John and the others don't believe that. Errol, a powerful Tomorrow Person breaks out of The Citadel with the help of others. The Citadel is an ULTRA run prison and science lab. Stephen and his partner are tasked with recovering Errol. But upon finding him and firing their weapons, he easily deflects the tranquilizer dart, so Stephen attempts to telepathically communicate with him. Errol forcefully pushes Stephen out of his mind, a new power not seen before. John confesses to the Tomorrow People about killing Jack and they force a vote for new leadership. Cara is voted in to the role, and immediately wants to save Errol from ULTRA and free the prisoners in The Citadel. The plan involves stopping the prisoner transfer and John shooting Stephen. The plan works. Cara is able help Errol remember enough to find The Citadel. The assault on The Citadel is going well until Jed figures out the plan and stops them. Cara free's the young Breakout, Charlotte. But Errol dies to protect them from Jed and it is only John's interference that stops Cara from being killed. On the home front, Stephen discovers that his mom is dating. Marla likes Peter and he seems to match her energy. But when Stephen tries to read him telepathically, he is pushed out just like Errol did to him earlier. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the government run ULTRA organization. Thanatos! Sounds like a Greek war cry. But what it ends up being is a man, a scientist in fact, that was there in the beginning helping Jed build Ultra! So many reveals this episode as Cara reveals to Jed she still has her powers, Stephen's dads was actually killed by John, the Founder of Ultra is a Breakout himself, and so much more! What an exciting episode that led into their holiday break way back when it first aired, and that's how you do a pre-finale break tension filled show! The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the government run ULTRA organization. In a more lighthearted 80's reminiscent episode, Stephen embraces his inner Michael J Fox and becomes a star basketball player for a few days. Uncle Jed is unhappy Stephen's using his powers for fun, so he slaps a D-Chip bracelet on his wrist that nulifies his powers to teach him a lesson. Meanwhile, Cara, John, and Russell attempt to track down a serial rapist who has a clever way of disposing of his victims should they become troublesome. After some failed attempts to capture him, Stephen deduces where he is and tries to capture him alone, and without powers, but is quickly outmatched. Thankfully, Cara and John show up to rescue him, but not before his father appears to him while he's unconscious! The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the government run ULTRA organization. It's a flashback episode where we learn about Russell's past as a concert pianist. He has a complicated relationship with his parents. In the present day, Russell finds out his dad has passed away and insists on going across the country to the funeral. John goes with him to make sure he stays out of trouble. Unfortunately, Russell always seems to find it with his affinity for drinking and socializing. John tries to help him out and they end up getting detained after a true Legends style bar fight. Fortunately, John talks his way out of the situation and they go to the funeral where Russell performs a moving piano piece at his father's memorial. Meanwhile, Cara and Stephen track down a breakout named Piper who turns out to be Darcy's sister. Stephen arranges a meeting for the two of them that goes horribly wrong for Darcy. Later after it all went down, Stephen seeks Cara's company for comfort. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the government run ULTRA organization. The Tomorrow People are tired of being cooped up in the abandoned subway station, so Cara proposes a night out. She finds a party they can attend and jaunts John for the right to take everyone out for the night. He's against it, but ends up coming along in the end. Meanwhile, Stephen and Astrid are preparing for homecoming but Stephen is intercepted by Jed and is taken to meet the big boss at Ultra, who just happens to be another Tomorrow Person. Jed picks up Stephen just before he leaves for homecoming with Astrid and takes him to a warehouse for a loyalty test. Unfortunately, this warehouse turns out to be the same party where John, Cara, and the rest of the Tomorrow People are. It turns out to be an Ultra ambush and chaos ensues. In a surprising ending, Cara uses the stolen serum to strip Kurt's powers for setting them up and getting at least three of their people killed. Stephen comes clean to Astrid and shows her what he can do. Contact Information: If you want to join in the discussion, you can submit feedback via email to TomorrowsLegendsPodcast@gmail.com. We return to Hammer Productions with Frankenstein and the Monster From Hell, filmed at Elstree Studios in 1972. It marked the final chapter in the Hammer Frankenstein saga and director Terence Fisher's last film. The Film Features: Peter Cushing in his sixth and final portrayal of Baron Victor Frankenstein, a part he originated in 1957's The Curse of Frankenstein. Despite being 59 and apparently in poor health when he made this film, Cushing still insisted on performing a stunt requiring him to leap from a tabletop onto the hulking creature's back, spinning wildly in circles to subdue the monster gone amok with a sedative. Shane Briant as Dr. Simon Helder, best known for his four Hammer appearances, including this film and Demons of the Mind, Straight on Till Morning, and Captain Kronos - Vampire Hunter (coming soon from General Witchfinders). He reprised the role of Simon Helder years later in the film Sherlock Holmes vs. Frankenstein. Madeline Smith as Sarah "Angel" Klauss. Also seen in Hammer's The Vampire Lovers, Taste the Blood of Dracula, Tam-Lin, and Theatre of Blood, she went on to become the first Bond girl of the Roger Moore era, Miss Caruso, in the post-opening titles sequence of Live and Let Die (infamous for the scene where Bond unzips her dress with a magnetic wristwatch). After taking a break from acting to raise her daughter, she is still working now at the age of 74, recently appearing in Mark Gatiss's The Amazing Mr. Blunden. And of course, the main event... the feature creature... we have Dave ("Dave Prowse IS Darth Vader") Prowse as the Creature / Herr Schneider. Actor, bodybuilder, and strongman Dave Prowse carved a unique path in film history. He's best known for portraying Darth Vader (voiced by American actor James Earl Jones) in the original Star Wars trilogy. However, his career stretched far beyond that iconic role. He was a familiar face in the UK as the Green Cross Man, promoting road safety for children. However, in a recurring snub to the beautiful West Country accent, the first two adverts in the series had Prowse's voice dubbed by another actor. Thankfully, he appeared using his own voice in the third advert. Dave won the British heavyweight weightlifting championship for three consecutive years (1962-1964). Leading him to compete for England in the 1962 Commonwealth Games. During his bodybuilding training, he befriended future action stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno. His role as the manservant in Stanley Kubrick's 1971 film, "A Clockwork Orange," caught the eye of Star Wars director George Lucas, which led him to the defining role of Darth Vader. Throughout his film and TV career, Prowse was often typecast with parts such as the circus strongman in Vampire Circus, a Minotaur in (Doctor Who Klaxon)'The Time Monster,' and an android named Coppin in The Tomorrow People. He supposedly came close to iconic roles, claiming to have nearly landed the part of Jaws in James Bond and being considered for Conan the Barbarian before those parts went to other actors. We are told that Prowse lobbied for the role of Superman in Richard Donner's 1978 film. In a television interview, he recounted his response to being told "we've found our Superman" with a simple "Thank you very much," only to then learn Christopher Reeve had been chosen and Prowse would be his trainer. Finally, it's worth noting that David Prowse made his second appearance as a Frankenstein laboratory creation in this film, his first being in The Horror of Frankenstein (uncredited cameo in 1967's Casino Royale aside). He holds the distinction of being the only actor to play a Hammer Frankenstein's monster more than once. Get bonus content on PatreonSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/general-witchfinders. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the government run ULTRA organization. “Girl, Interrupted” is a parallel story. We have Cara's heartbreaking past being told in a series of flashbacks. She was a deaf high school student being raised by a single father alongside her younger sister. One of her high school classmates attempts to sexually assault her. Her powers manifest and she telekinetically pushes him away twice, killing him in the process. Her breakout somehow heals her deafness. But she is in jail for the murder with no chance of getting out. She teleports out to her home. Her dad pushes her out and she telepathically hears him say they are better off without her. This leads to her mistrust of normal humans. She is scared and insulates herself with the Tomorrow People Our other girl in this parallel story is Emily. She is a high school classmate of Stephen. She and Stephen have been on similar paths mentally. Her sister was killed in a car accident with a train and Emily feels responsible. Stephen is at a party with Astrid and he telepathically hears her thinking about suicide. He wants to intervene but both Cara and Jed advise him not to do it. In the end, Cara steps in and convinces her it is not her fault and to live. Stephen sneaks in a data link that will connect ULTRA and TIM. But it is found, and Jed sends agents to trap the Tomorrow People. They capture Cara. Stephen tires to prove his loyalty to Jed by offering to take Cara's powers. He is able to stop time and switch out the drugs and Cara fakes being neutralized. It seems to fool Jed and his assistant. "Kill or Be Killed" gives us John's backstory. John was rescued from a bad foster care dad by Jed. We see him learn the skills and abilites that make him such a great fighter now. But we learn that Jed experimented on the Tomorrow People to give them the ability to kill by blocking parts of their brain through intense drug therapy. Killian was a success but went rogue and John had to track him down. Now Killian is back and hunting his former friend. John has to face him again and we learn that John has the ability to kill as well. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the government fun ULTRA organization. This was the introduction episode for many people. Some of us grew up watching the U.K. original on Nikelodeon. This series took concept and ran with in. Throw in beautiful actors, much better special effects, and storylines not aimed at school aged kids, and you get the CW version of The Tomorrow People. Stephen Jameson is a high school student struggling with voices in his head and waking up in strange places. He quickly learns that he is a Tomorrow Person, genetically superior to normal humans. Cara and John tell him his long-vanished father was their leader and he can be the key to finding Jack. But Jed and the ULTRA organization are out to find and stop them. ULTRA is made up of Tomorrow People working for the government. Jed says they are seeking to protect civilization from the powers of the Tomorrow People. However, we find out it as personal vendetta. Jed is Jack's brother and Stephen's uncle. Contact Information: If you want to join in the discussion, you can submit feedback via email to TomorrowsLegendsPodcast@gmail.com. We continue where we left off in episode 27 with our exploration of the 1976 British anthology series "Beasts," written by the legendary Nigel Kneale (who now has his own dedicated page on our website!), tonight we watch the first of two episodes "The Dummy." Directed by Don Leaver (not Cleaver), a veteran of many shows from our youth and boasts credits on two episodes of "Hammer House of Horror": "Witching Time" and "The Mark of Satan" Bernard Horsfal as Clyde Boydl: He appeared in classic TV series like the very first episode of "The Avengers" and a four "Doctor Who" serials: "The Mind Robber," "The War Games," "The Planet of the Daleks," and "The Deadly Assassin." Glyn Houston as Sidney Stewart: another "Doctor Who" alumnus, having featured in "The Hand of Fear" and "The Awakening." The fantastically named Thorley Walters as Sir Ramsey: bringing a wealth of genre experience to the table, playing the Burgermeister in "Vampire Circus, "Dr. Hertz in "Frankenstein Created Woman" and Inspector Frisch in "Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed,". Notably, Michael Sheard as the Sergeant, who gained fame for his portrayal of the tyrannical schoolteacher Mr. Bronson in Grange Hill during the mid-1980s. He also developed a niche for playing Adolf Hitler, appearing in four films: "Rogue Male," "The Dirty Dozen: Next Mission," "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade," an uncredited role in "Hitler of the Andes." and in the TV series "The Tomorrow People." Sheard also made appearances in Doctor Who: "The Ark," "Mind of Evil," "Pyramid of Mars," "The Invisible Enemy," "Castrovalva," and "Remembrance of the Daleks. We also see Lillias Walker as Joan Eastgate - her obligatory Doctor Who appearance being "Terror of the Zygons", was married to Peter Vaughan, who starred in "Warning to the Curious." (episode 21) Patricia Haines as Sheila Boy - She also starred in "Virgin Witch" with first-time actor Vicky Michelle. Haines was married to Michael Caine with whom she had a daughter; sadly, this was her final screen role. And finally, of course, one of our most featured actors, Clive Swift (or as the Apple Podcasts AI transcript generator calls him, Kloof Swift). We've covered his career several times now, and I highly recommend Andrew Screens ‘Book of Beasts' blog for a fantastic, exhaustive biography. STEVE GETS RANDOM First broadcast on FAB RADIO INTERNATIONAL at 19:00 on October 29th 2023 This week it's STEVE HATCHER's turn to sit in the chair and face up to some of the questions designed to prompt one of our random chats, and, as ever, this prompts a fascinating telly-related conversation that heads off in all sorts of unexpected directions. So, by taking the recent untimely passing of PETER VAUGHAN CLARKE as our starting point, we discuss THE TOMORROW PEOPLE, in which he played STEPHEN for several years, at some length, as well as giving some thought to the feelings of our own mortality that the losses of the TV icons of our youth can bring along with them, especially if they are more or less the same age as we are. Moving on from THE TOMORROW PEOPLE, we give some thought to the performances of child actors, consider the merits of other series of that era like ACE OF WANDS and TIMESLIP, and we briefly call in at GRANGE HILL, before mentioning the whole notion of YOOF TV before moving on to debate the world of the television remake, touch upon the tricky topic of conspiracy theories, meander briefly amongst the many iterations of STAR TREK, and ponder upon the knotty issue of fan fiction. All-in-all, it makes for a fascinating journey around the world of television, which I hope you'll enjoy sharing with us. And because we are both getting on a bit, we manage to completely forget the names of several actors that we were hoping to mention along the way, so I'm going to name-check LENNY RUSH, MISAKO KOBA, KRISTIAN SCHMID, DEBRA MESSING and MORENA BACCARIN if you want to get your checklists ready for when they pop up later. PLEASE NOTE - For Copyright reasons, musical content sometimes has to be removed for the podcast edition. All the spoken word content remains (mostly) as it was in the broadcast version. Hopefully this won't spoil your enjoyment of the show
On this episode I talk about spaghetti and how all these guests I was going to have on are ghosting me!!! I'm just kidding.I didn't talk about spaghetti. I could though. That's what I should have done on this episode is talk about spaghetti. Maybe the next one? How do you like that? That's what we call a "teaser" in the business. I'm teasing the shit out of you cuz now you can't stop thinking about spaghetti. And that's how it's done my friend. That's how it's done.Support the showhunchbunny.com

Wesley Taylor (one of this podcast's earliest guests!) is a multi-talented artist who's taking the entertainment industry by storm and has recently debuted as a writer AND director in his new movie, “Summoning Sylvia”. Wesley talks about creating "Summoning Sylvia" with his friend, Alex Wyse, how the idea for it started, the casting process, and making sure it's not just another typical gay movie. Working alongside Meryl Streep in the hit Hulu series "Only Murders in the Building" is a dream come true for Wesley. He shares the difference between working with actors with theatre experience versus people who've only done tv and films, and why he prefers to disassociate during set. Wesley reflects on his early days as a writer, learning to take himself seriously, and finding Alex which, to him, felt like finding his other half in terms of creativity. Having been in the industry for years, he shares some tips to keep getting interested and inspired, such as asking favors, strategically acquiring what you need to acquire, looking at auditions as an opportunity to show off, and getting motivated by laughter. Wesley Taylor is an actor who has won a Theatre World Award and Chita Rivera Award and was an Outer Critics Circle nominee. He made his Broadway debut in the original cast of “Rock of Ages” before starring opposite Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth in the original cast of Broadway's “The Addams Family”. He also originated the role of Sheldon J. Plankton in “Spongebob Squarepants” before it was filmed for Nickelodeon as “The SpongeBob Musical: Live on Stage!”. Wesley's additional tv and film credits include “The Good Wife”, “The Tomorrow People”, and “Smash”. He co-created and starred in three original digital series, including the latest Emmy-nominated “Indoor Boys” with Alex Wyse. He will also appear in the 3rd season of “Only Murders in the Building” with Alex. Recently, he and Alex made their feature film debut as writers and directors in “Summoning Sylvia”, a new movie out now for a limited theatrical release and now available to stream. As May 1st draws closer, so too does the deadline for the WGA's (Writer's Guild of America) contract renewal - as well as the strike that will come if an agreement is not reached. In solidarity with the writers of some of their favorite television, the Legendary Ladies invited writers Ray Utarnachitt (DC'S THE LEGENDS OF TOMORROW) and Christina Walker (CW'S THE FLASH) for a round table discussion about the ins-and-outs of the challenge facing the Guild. The conversation moves from the basics, such as how the WGA works and what a strike authorization *actually* means, to the more complex issues, such as the changing landscape of residuals in a world where streaming is the new ‘name of the game' and how the industry shift to “micro” writing rooms creates an imbalance between the work required - and the pay received for it. Join in the fight with The Legendary Ladies and support and honor the WGA by listening, learning, and sharing the episode! Meet the guests! Ray Utarnachitt is a TV writer/producer. He is a Michigan native and like any good Asian student, was pre-med at the University of Michigan for 3 years. Much to his parents' dismay, he switched tracks and graduated with a Film degree. Ray broke into the business working in production on commercials, music videos, and features. He was a writer and Executive Producer on DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW. He's also written for PERSON OF INTEREST, THE TOMORROW PEOPLE, THE FLASH, and SUPERGIRL. He is an alumnus of the Warner Bros. Writers Workshop. From period pieces to Sci-fi, supernatural genre to high-concept and action packed, Christina Walker''s unique background and diverse voice has led her to staff on a wide range series and all of those rooms highlight her as true value added. Most recently her talents have put her in the high-concept and action space having worked on Seasons 7 & 8 of CW'S THE FLASH. ----------- Support Kat, Morgan, and Amy by subscribing to their Patreon to get exclusive access to after-show chats, extra episodes, and even a chance to advertise your own podcast, project, or company on the show!
