In this special series of Gem Pursuit, we put a spotlight on some of the most important Cartier pieces of the 20th century, currently on display at the V&A museum in London. In each episode, we take a closer look at a different extraordinary piece, uncovering its story, design, and place in jewellery history. This is your audio guide to the Egyptian Revival scarab brooches, captivating jewels that blend ancient symbolism with 20th-century glamour. These brooches bring to life the fascination with Egypt - AKA Tutmania - that swept through art and design in the early 20th century, inspiring intricate craftsmanship and bold, exotic motifs. They can currently be admired up close in the World Room - the second gallery from the beginning of the exhibition. If you can't make it to the exhibit, check out the V&A website and view the pieces for yourself. www.courtville.ie Get social with Courtville, follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok This podcast was produced for Courtville by Tape Deck
In each episode, we take a closer look at a different extraordinary piece uncovering its story, design, and place in jewellery history. Whether you're standing in front of the piece at the museum or listening from the comfort of home, this episode offers a deeper insight into the sparkle behind the glass.

As part of the Natural History Museum's Urban Nature Project, responding to the urgent need to monitor and record changes to UK urban nature and support its recovery the five acres of green space that wrap around the Museum's much loved building in South Kensington, London have been transformed in to the recently opened Nature Discovery and Evolution Gardens. On Tuesday 6 August 2024 the Natural History Museum launched a recorded audio guide to their new Nature Discovery and Evolution Gardens bringing the gardens to life for everyone including blind and partially sighted people. The audio guide also includes a number of poems created by young visually impaired people that came out of a series of workshops lead by Rapper and Poet Testament. RNIB Connect Radio's Toby Davey was there at the audio guide launch event at the Natural History Museum to not only experience the new gardens through the recorded audio guide but also to chat with some of the people who worked on the guide too. Prior to the launch event Toby chatted with Harriet Fink, Learning and Volunteering Programme Manager at the Natural History Museum to find out a bit more about the transformation of the site into the two new gardens and how the workshops with the young visually impaired people lead by Testament had gone. During the launch event Toby got the chance to chat with Anna, Precious and Eliza, three of the young people who took part in the workshop lead by Testament about their well crafted and written poems that feature in the guide which help to bring the themes and nature of the gardens to life for everyone. Then to chatting with Rapper and Poet Testament to find out how the workshops with the young visually impaired people had gone and the process that they all went through in the workshops to create the poems that feature in the guide and how important spoken word and poetry can be for communicating subjects like those featured in the gardens to everyone. Finally at the launch event Toby caught up with Professor Hannah Thompson from Royal Holloway, University of London who is partially blind to find out more about her role as Specialist Advisor for the audio guide ensuring that the gardens were accessible for blind and partially sighted people and making a truly inclusive audio guide for everyone. You might like to share the experience of exploring the new Evolution and Nature Discovery gardens through the audio guide with a sighted friend or family member who might also be able to help with navigating the five-acre gardens too. To find out more about the audio guide to the Natural History Museum's new Nature Discovery and Evolution Gardens along with how to contact their Access Team do visit the following pages of their website - https://www.nhm.ac.uk/visit/galleries-and-museum-map/our-gardens/audio-guides-and-transcripts.html Image shows Toby with recording equipment in hand and headphones on, stood in front of the Natural History Museum with retired guide dog Willow in front of Fern, the bronze diplodocus, in the new Nature discovery and Evolution Gardens.
Welcome to the official Audio Guide to We Travel Together By Patricia Piccinini as part of Galway International Arts Festival. Patricia Piccinini is one of Australia's most acclaimed artists who has received worldwide attention for her startling sculptures, installations and digital environments. Born in Sierra Leone, Patricia uses her craft to create striking images of hyperrealistic hybrid animals, humans and creatures to question the way that contemporary technology and culture changes our understanding of evolution and what it means to be human. When leaving this exhibition the artist hopes the audience are inspired to ask questions about the changing relationship between us and the world around us and that hopefully, we can begin to imagine a new way forward, together with other creatures rather at their expense. The Festival Gallery is presented in association with The Dean Galway who also provided support for this audio guide. For more information about other shows in the festival visit www.giaf.ie.

The guys discuss the changing dynamics of Pantera's current tour, noting a scaled-back production and speculate on attendance numbers. The interview takes an emotional turn as Tim reminisces about the late Dave Williams and their cherished moments together. Discover the behind-the-scenes stories and the unexpected twists in Soil's musical evolution. The guys end the episode with a Should Have Been Bigger segment featuring Nothingface. Nothingface, formed in 1993, lauding their impactful albums like "Pacifier" and "Audio Guide to Everyday Atrocity." Ro highlights the band's struggle to resonate with a wider audience during the nu-metal era, attributing this to a unique, guttural sound that differed from the prevailing trends. Despite these hurdles, Toomey expresses enduring admiration for the band's legacy and recounts fond memories of their live performances.

Welcome to episode 21 of the Nurtured by Nature podcast. Today I'm delighted to be joined in conversation by the amazing Anaiya from Les Contes in the French Pyrenees. During our beautiful heartfelt conversation we discuss the courage we are all being called to bring forth to navigate the challenges of our times & how the wisdom held in the land & handed down through myth, fairytale & the archetype of the shepherdess can offer comfort by reminding us of the cyclic nature of the natural world. We meander through the landscapes that have inspired Anaiya's life & explore ways to navigate our fears, whilst quietly honouring those who have suffered for speaking out against the status quo & held the responsibility for lightening a path for others to follow. We give thanks to the trees, including the 300 year old Sycamore at Sycamore Gap on Hadrian's Wall for their sacrifice & remember how little Percy & our animal companions can bring immense joy to our journey in this life.Learn more about Anaiya Sophia & Les Contes:Anaiya is a Writer, Mythologist, Somatic Movement Minister & Whisperer of Sacred Wisdom. Her highly acclaimed books, courses, transmissions & workshops focus on the development of the mythic imagination & on the relevance of myths, fairy tales & folk traditions to the personal, cultural & environmental problems we face today. Her work, springs from an irresistible intimacy with the land, which is rooted in the myths & stories of place & a detailed knowledge of the physical & historical environment. She is currently working on Mary Magdalene's Audio Guide to the South of France, an evocative and expressive partnering with the mythic imagination & the land itself. Anaiya leads workshops in Sacred Body Awakening throughout Europe & North America. Her home with her husband & mother is in the mountains of the Cathar region in Southern France, where they have taken on an almighty project – the restoration of an old Catholic summer house for children: Les Contes, a B & B at the base of Montsegur. Les Contes is a truly extraordinary place with an astonishing healing presence & is often said to be a catalyst for making important decisions. Here you will find the Notre Dame de Sophia, a chapel consecrated to the Holy Spirit and the good works of Mary Magdalene, La Source de Belisama, Le Jardin d'Eden (Permaculture Project & Food Forest), The Mary Path (a mystical trail through the land), The Red Rose Cafe, the Apothecary of Body Ritual's (Sacred Spa) & Animal Sanctuary. "Hi, this is Nicole Knudsen, creator and narrator of The Godfrey Audio Guide! This show is the audio tour for the fictional Annabelle H. Godfrey Historic Estate and Museum. Think a fine art museum meets the Winchester Mystery House. It's a show that blends horror, sci-fi, and art history (both real and imagined), and while there is continuity within the show, most episodes are self-contained and can stand on their own. This is Episode 46 - “Observations & Accidents”, which follows the usual episode format of two featured art pieces with a museum announcement in between them. As a note: the tone of this show can vary widely between episodes, and even within the episodes themselves. Such is the case with Episode 46. Bearing that in mind, please be aware that the third and final section of this episode is rooted firmly in horror, and features the sound and description of a car crash. And…I think that's everything you need to get started! Thanks for listening!" While many visitors flock to Central Park, only a handful truly delve into the rich past and hidden gems of the 840-acre park! Whether you have half an hour or an entire day to spare, the park's sheer expanse offers something for everyone. But how do you learn about these landmarks as you explore?! Enter the Central Park Audio Guides which provide interesting audio readings of 40+ places in Central Park. In this episode, we'll dive into how to use the free audio guides, where to find them, and even give you a preview of what the audio guides sound like. While you can certainly book guided tours of Central Park, those cost money & require you to be there at a certain time and for a certain amount of time. If you're more of a DIY explorer and like to go at your own pace, the Central Park Audio Guides are for you! These guides offer historical information, fun facts, and little-known tidbits of info about 40+ landmarks. Each audio guide is available in English, Spanish, French, and ASL. For most locations, the audio snippets range anywhere from 90 seconds up to about 4 1/2 minutes. Here are the 2 ways you can use the Central Park Audio Guides. ⏬ Option 1: Phone Call Call the phone number listed on the sign near the location Enter the “extension number” listed on the sign Listen to the audio (preferably with headphones) If you want to save it in your contacts, here's the Central Park Audio Guide phone number: 646-862-0997 The main disadvantage of the phone call route is that you have to find the extension on the sign in the park. Option 2: Bloomberg Connects App Option 2 is to download the Bloomberg Connects app and find the Central Park Audio Guide there. The advantage of the app is that you can search for locations/landmarks without being right next to them. That makes it easy to learn about sections of the park before (or after) you check them out. Alright, here are all of the locations available on the free Central Park Audio Guide & each corresponding extension number (if there's a hyperlink, it's for an article we've written about that specific landmark): Explore the North End: #100 Blockhouse: #101 Fort Clinton: #102 McGowan's Pass: #103 Great Hill: #104 The Harlem Meer: #105 (previously read by S.
