Guest:  Jason Fowler, Musician About Jason: Jason Fowler's sound is a mix of melodic passion, with roots that can be traced to a musically inspired family. Fowler first displayed his talents for music and writing in the band Ultraphonic. The band went on to win a $250,000 recording contract with Garage Band Records. Ultraphonic would begin recording its third album with legendary producer, Johnny Sandlin (Allman Bros. Band/Widespread Panic), complemented by industry force, Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, (aka The Swampers). Later Fowler was the front man for the band Speed X alongside Mike Stone of '80s metal band Queensryche, Josh Sattler of Double Drive, as well as Nick Catanese and Mike Froedge of Black Label Society. The band proved to be a force in the hard-rock music scene for several years. Fowler currently performs with industry heavyweights Will Turpin of Collective Soul and Shane Evans, the original drummer for Collective Soul. Fowler released his solo debut Letters from the Inside in 2014 as a musical journal of his experience, newfound strength and hope in his recovery from substance abuse and homelessness. In March 2016, Fowler released his debut Christian album I Fall In. He currently lives in Atlanta, where he has served as the worship pastor of Refuge City Church, with his wife and two sons.  www.jasonfowlermusic.com The opinions expressed during this radio/podcast broadcast are for inspiration, information and entertainment purposes. This week marks an anniversary that is anything but something to celebrate. That said, we pay tribute to a true metal icon and, more importantly, an amazing human being.   Aaron and Chris return this week to pay tribute to the memory of Dimebag Darrell. The iconic guitarist was murdered onstage 10 years ago this week. Since then, a series of bike rides for charity have sprung up all over the United States. We had rock photographer and friend of Darrell's, Chad Lee, on the show as he was gearing up for the Nashville chapter event in September. Chris attended the ride and documented the process while later being joined by Aaron for the knockout metal concert.    In this Dimebag tribute special, you'll hear first-hand how the day unfolded for Nashville's Ride for Dime event; from the bar-b-que before the ride and party that includes chats with Chad Lee, Steve Bumpus of Bumpus Harley Davidson (hosts for the event), Nancy Sayle (Rock for MS), and guitarist Nick Bowcott (Grim Reaper). The episode moves into the evening and features backstage talks with Sirius/XM deejay Jose Mangin as well as a lengthy talk with former Black Label Society guitarist Nick Catanese. It's a fly-on-the-wall perspective of a day that saw thousands of people coming together to help out charities and remember a metal legend and amazing person. Welcome to Episode 10 of the Signal To Noise Podcast! In this episode I have another guest host, my buddy  Sean (the owner of the blue Ibanez RG 550 I wrote about a while back). Sean and I talk about the the 30th anniversary edition TS-9 that Ibanez released this year. We also talk about the gear we are lusting after and some classic effects like the Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal Pedal. In our interview with Nick Catanese, we discuss Nick's newest Paul Reed Smith Signature guitar, his signature Dean Markley Strings and Black Label's upcoming European tour. Guys like Nick are a great thing in the music industry. Nick is a great player, yet still humble and modest about his abilities. It's that kind of attitude that has kept Nick grounded and pouring out great music with Black Label Society year after year. Nick was a delight to talk with and...he is a Star Wars fan! Check out this picture of one of Nick's guitar Picks.
