The original waiver on the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights was proposed by South Africa and India in 2021 and would enable more equitable production and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines. The waiver has been blocked for over a year by the EU, Switzerland, and the UK who face immense lobbying from pharmaceutical companies.  7:30 Jason Fowler from the Environment Centre of Northern Territory (ECNT) tells Jacob about a recent case that was launched against the Australian Government, who approved an oil drilling project off the north coast of Australia in the Tiwi Islands. No matter who you are and what kind of organisations you've worked for, everyone knows the pressure to just get it done. It can be for the sake of stakeholders, the cause, or the bottom line, but the consequences are the same: eventually you amass organisational debt. Like technical debt, this has accelerated amid recent disruption, where the need to keep things moving, at any cost, was greater than ever. But if this isn't addressed, the knock-on effect on your culture, people and all-round effectiveness can be severe. Ultimately, everyone knows organisational debt is there, but no one wants to talk about it. However, this needs to change – and fast – if businesses are to rid themselves of complexity and inefficiency. So, herein lies the purpose of this podcast episode, where our experts will be exploring some of the key things to look out for to fathom if your organisation is suffering from this debt. Complete with a deep dive into the power of IT workflows and other ways to free yourself from these shackles, to empower your people and drive growth in the remainder of the year (and beyond). Jason Fowler, VP of HR for Fujitsu in Northern and Western Europe joins me on Tech Talks Daily to tackle the topic of Organisational Debt. With twenty years' experience in the technology sector, Jason has seen first-hand the impact that digitalisation has had, and continues to have, in disrupting organisations and their employees. He believes that in the era of total tech, the people capability of an organisation becomes the principal point of commercial differentiation – and it is the role of HR to create this.

This is Derek Miller Speaking on Business. Air & Sea International/Freightlink is a second-generation, family-owned freight service company. Its President, Jason Fowler, shares how the company is a leader in the growing freight and transportation industry. JASON FOWLER We pair transportation with a tailored customer service for every client, the same approach my father, Brent Fowler, used when he launched this company 35 years ago. We started strictly moving export containers and have transformed over the years by adding full-service import, airfreight, domestic transportation services, and customs brokerage to our menu of resources. Nimbleness and diversification paired with our focus on customer's needs have been key to growing our business through market crashes and a pandemic. During 2020 we invested heavily into web self-service communication tools to interact with our clients more effectively. Our user-friendly online dashboard positions our company as an industry leader. In 2021 we continue to innovate by increasing our outreach potential with self-service tools. A strong digital presence giving customers real-time answers is key in providing security and confidence in a time of uncertainty. Through our involvement with the World Trade Center and our local Chambers of Commerce, we are dedicated to supporting Utah companies by partnering with them and navigating transportation conditions with trust. Most people are lucky if they succeed at one discipline. For Jason Fowler, he’s defied the odds—twice. At the young age of 10, Jason was already a nationally ranked amateur motocross racer. Born with a natural competitive drive, he pushed himself to develop his skills and become the best in his field. Jason was well on his way to going pro. That is, until one fateful day when he was preparing for an upcoming race. While riding his motorcycle, he hit a rock, which caused him to land directly on his head, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. He was 17 years old. Despite a new world of challenges waiting for him, Jason refused to give up. After shifting his talents from motocross racing to handcycling, he set out to take on marathons, triathlons, and even the IRONMAN World Championship. He wanted to push himself to conquer the greatest challenge he could find. With over 150 road races, 36 marathons, 37 triathlons, and five IRONMAN World Championships (two of which he won) under his belt, Jason is nowhere near slowing down. When he’s not busy training for the next big race, he dedicates his time to coaching people on how to achieve their own dreams. Enjoy the listen!

**The Slap Save Pinball Podcast is rated PG-13 by the MPAA (Misguided Pinball A-Holes of America)***  Episode 24 of the Slap Save Pinball Podcast, Silver Ball Showdown.  Where EVERY moon is a full moon.  Jason Fowler, Matt Koenen and THE Christopher Franchi (and his partner in crime Barlow) talk pinball, drop some opinions AND some inside tidbits (including EPIC art from Leonardo Da Franchi).  This episode rundown: 1.) Industry News (or at least what little there is) including a discussion of Cosmic Carnival's latest improvements. 2.) Summary of What is New with Jason and Matt. 3.) The SILVER BALL SHOWDOWN, a new segment that features Matt and Jason having a debate over a Pinball Machine, in this case Twilight Zone with a twist.  Gillian, the gorgeous, red-headed nymphomaniac who lives in Jason's phone, randomly assigns one host who has to defend it, and one host who has to trash it by a coin flip.  We have a BLAST defending/attacking the game... and attacking each other.   WHO WON?  You can decide by telling us on our facebook page, emailing us, or calling our voice comment line and we will tally them and let you know next week.    4.) Around The Playfield w/ Chris Franchi & Barlow has what might be the best segment yet with his trademark humor AND he drops some art that he had completed as a mock up to try to entice an IP to be made.  You will NOT want to miss this.  Make sure you contact Chris with your comments, questions and suggestions at playfieldquestions@gmail.com.  Also, check out our Facebook page to see the art referenced starting at 9pm eastern on Monday, May 13th.        5.) Jory Nash released his ninth album “Wilderness Years” earlier this year. It maybe his best yet, which is saying a lot for an artist who consistently produces great albums. It may also be his last – or at least for a while. As Jory explains during an in depth interview with Jan Hall at the 2018 Folk Music Ontario conference, it's getting harder and harder to make a living as singer-songwriter in a music world that is becoming so totally dominated by streaming companies that, at the present time, do not fairly compensate artists for access to their music. It’s a great interview, and well-worth checking out – and Jory also plays a couple of songs from the new album live for us. Wilderness Years was co-produced with Chris Stringer, and recorded at Union Sound with support from Jason Fowler, (guitars, mandolin), Devon Henderson (bass), Robbie Grunwald (piano, organ, accordion), Gary Craig (percussion), Dean Drouillard (6 & 12 string electric guitars), Burke Carroll (pedal steel), Kevin Fox (cello), Drew Jurecka (strings), Gene Hardy (sax), Jerome Godboo (harmonica) with Lori Cullen, Oh Susanna, Lydia Persuad & Chloe Watkinson (backing vocals). The new album has a lush and warm feel, and features 11 songs that are some of the most personal Jory has written, reflecting on the joys and responsibilities of new fatherhood, and crossing borders from folk and pop to soul, jazz and blues, with a nod to some of the great singer-songwriter albums of the 70s. Jory Nash plays Silence in Guelph on Saturday November 17 at 8 p.m. Visit Jory Nash online at http://jorynash.com. Guest:  Jason Fowler, Musician About Jason: Jason Fowler's sound is a mix of melodic passion, with roots that can be traced to a musically inspired family. Fowler first displayed his talents for music and writing in the band Ultraphonic. The band went on to win a $250,000 recording contract with Garage Band Records. Ultraphonic would begin recording its third album with legendary producer, Johnny Sandlin (Allman Bros. Band/Widespread Panic), complemented by industry force, Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, (aka The Swampers). Later Fowler was the front man for the band Speed X alongside Mike Stone of '80s metal band Queensryche, Josh Sattler of Double Drive, as well as Nick Catanese and Mike Froedge of Black Label Society. The band proved to be a force in the hard-rock music scene for several years. Fowler currently performs with industry heavyweights Will Turpin of Collective Soul and Shane Evans, the original drummer for Collective Soul. Fowler released his solo debut Letters from the Inside in 2014 as a musical journal of his experience, newfound strength and hope in his recovery from substance abuse and homelessness. In March 2016, Fowler released his debut Christian album I Fall In. He currently lives in Atlanta, where he has served as the worship pastor of Refuge City Church, with his wife and two sons.  www.jasonfowlermusic.com The opinions expressed during this radio/podcast broadcast are for inspiration, information and entertainment purposes. Welcome to The Shaun Tabatt Show! In this episode I speak with my buddy John Schlitt about John Schlitt Ministries, his new book Why, and a brand new album called The Union of Sinners and Saints.About Why:In “WHY,” John Schlitt relates his discovery of why God won't let him stop singing and ministering to the Body of Christ. His search for his “why” is an encouragement to every reader to find his or her “why.” The book includes emails from fans, song lyrics from John's Petra days and his own recording projects.About The Union of Sinners and Saints:"The idea of a new project really intrigued both of us," Schlitt declares. "With our histories, it only made sense to feature Petra and Whiteheart favorites along with the new songs that we were writing in the studio."Smiley adds, "John and I got together last fall and started writing some songs and reminisced over both of our histories and journeys. With the chemistry and friendship that developed, we also started brainstorming about taking this new material we were creating out on the road in 2016."Fans can look forward to the release of the new CD project, available exclusively at Lifeway Stores and digitally on iTunes worldwide. The project will feature eight new compositions and updated versions of Petra and Whiteheart classics.Joining Schlitt and Smiley in the studio is Anthony Sallee of Whiteheart on bass, new artist Jason Fowler on guitar and vocals, Steve Brewster (Peter Cetera) on drums, Jonathan Crone on guitar, and John Ellis, lead singer from Tree63, on guitar and vocals. Smiley is producing the record and bringing in on select songs an all-star cast of musicians including Brian Wooten (Whiteheart, Trace Adkins) on guitar, Chris McHugh (Whiteheart, Keith Urban) on drums, Brennan Smiley (The Technicolors) on guitar, Peter Furler (Newsboys) on drums and vocals, and Dave Ellefson (Megadeth) on bass.Richie Biggs (Whiteheart, Petra, and The Civil Wars) is mixing the record.About John Schlitt:John Schlitt is known for his career as the lead singer of Christian rock band Petra from 1986 until the band's retirement in late 2005.
