The Word calls us to release anything that hinders our relationship with Jesus. In this Sunday's message, "Lose to Gain: The Beauty of Letting Go", Pastor Kristi unpacks the power of surrender and how letting go of what hold us back opens the door to deeper intimacy with the Father. When we choose to release the things that weigh us down, we create space for more of His presence, love, and transformation. He is always drawing us forward, inviting us to fix our eyes on Him rather than what is behind us. In Him, we find that nothing else can truly satisfy. Recorded at Hope Church in Springfield, MO.

After a time of worship and ministry filled with prayer for the lost, Pastor Kristi shares from her heart about "Greater Faith".
Meet Tony Caterina. Tony is the director of HEART Ministries. He hears from the Lord, lives by faith, brings the Kingdom everywhere he goes, and, oh yeah, has as broken a background and starting place as any of us. In part one of our two part conversation with Tony, Pastor Kristi and Rebecca hear some […]
Pastor Kristi shares plainly about the shift that God is calling our church to make during this time of divine reset.
Pastor Kristi encourages us to follow The Lord into deeper waters as we grow our faith and maturity. Using a sailing example we see the importance of the Word of God to keep us on course in these deeper waters.
Pastor Kristi shares testimony from her recent trip to Mozambique with Iris Ministries and looks at the life of Peter to see the Goodness of God and how we can choose to respond to it.
Pastor Kristi shares a word about the blessings of the Lord as we look at the story of Abraham in Genesis and at Galatians 3.

Though we want to do the best we can in relationships, work, etc., sometimes we just don’t know what to do. God’s desire is to provide each of us with what we need to influence people and situations for generations to come.
Pastor Kristi is back from NYC, and still riding that magical Broadway musical high. Good music and art will do that to ya! And that's good, because we need sustenance and reprieve in wilderness times - periods of our lives that present uncertainty and hardship, like...trying to get into your dream college. Or growing up with difficult and/or absent parents. And lots of other crap. Kristi and David talk about ways they manage to be brave while traversing the wild. Also...music from Sara Bareilles, and Tell Dave The News!
Lent season is all about the idea of the 'wilderness' - those stretches of life that are uncertain, maybe a little dodgy, or perhaps downright scary. For the first episode of this 'Into The Wilderness' series, David takes over the podcast and talks about how social anxiety can be overcome with a few lessons in improv - with help from actor/comedian Matt Walsh. Prepare for your mind to be BLOWN. Meanwhile, Pastor Kristi heads to NYC to catch a few broadway shows. (She has agreed to perform her favorite song from 'Frozen' on next week's episode, so tune in). Don't be anxious. Don't worry. Just embrace the wilderness with your friends at Uprising 8)
Today on Uprising, Pastor Kristi and David talk about representation, a topic largely sparked by the latest Marvel box-office hit, Black Panther. What might a film about a black superhero mean to a whole generation of African American youth? And on the topic of movies, why aren't there more female directors? And more female pilots? And race car drivers? (You get the idea) What gets portrayed in the media has a lasting impression on people- especially kids- so maybe there's work to be done as far as gender balance. We explore that in 'See Jane', a movement started by Geena Davis that challenges stereotypes and empowers women via the media. We top it all off with a little Michael Jackson. That's how we do it on Uprising, y'all!
On Uprising today, Pastor Kristi and David are still working out their anger issues. Kristi is on the warpath after sub-par service at a restaurant, and David is 'butt-hurt' after being ghosted by a friend. On a more serious note, hearts are heavy as we reflect on the Parkland, FL shooting. The tragedy coincided with Ash Wednesday- Pastor Kristi imparts wisdom about this tradition and the meaning of the Lent season. Also, some impassioned poetry from artist 'In-Q' and music from Gungor. We live in crazy times, y'all. Hold each other tight as we search for beauty in the ashes
Pastor Kristi and David let it all out on this episode about anger. Bad drivers, finicky technology, rude Verizon reps...there's only so much a person can take! But maybe anger can be good for us. Jesus became so hot he started flipping tables in a temple. Ephesians says to be angry...just don't sin! Easier said than done, right? Especially when anger is literally wired into the oldest part of our brains. Also, James Taylor helps sing away our 'angry blues.' Take a deep breath y'all, it's Uprising!
Nobody likes failing in life. I mean, duh. Failing is laaaamme. Interestingly enough though, it's the successful who are most acquainted with failure. Pastor Kristi and David talk it out. Kristi does her Oscar-nom rundown, Tells Dave the News, and drops some pastor-wisdom-bombs, like usual! David recounts the time he auditioned for a fairly big country artist. How did it go, you ask? (See title of this episode). Music from Florence and the Machine. It's Uprising, yo!
If you live to be 80, you'll have spent roughly 6 years dreaming. Whoa. Perhaps we should pay more attention to them! Pastor Kristi and David talk dreams in today's episode. Kristi explores the significance of dreams in the Bible and shares her dream for the church. David shares some dream science, and ponders his recurring dream about a girl from high school (Don't worry, we keep it PG on Uprising). Music from The Cranberries and Lala Land Soundtrack. R.I.P. Delores O'Riordan.
Pastor Kristi and David discuss the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the ways his dream lives on today. Also, a look at the historical-drama film 'Selma.' Music from Common and Whitney Houston. Thank you, Dr. King
Pastor Kristi and David look at the year ahead and swap resolutions. Here's hoping for more hospitality & community, and less nail biting & abandoning books halfway through! Also, Woodie Guthrie's amazing anti-fascism resolution list. Music from Taylor Swift & Sam Hunt.
Christmas time is here! But it will be gone in a flash folks, so how do we take in the true meaning of it all? A Bible historian (Linus from Peanuts) helps us out. Also, Pastor Kristi informs David that aliens exist. Music from Christy Nockels. Marry Christmas, y'all!
Between Wonder Woman and #MeToo, 2017 was a big year for women. Pastor Kristi and David discuss, and reflect on their year...Comic Con, quitting jobs, angry gallbladders and more. David is happy LCD Soundsystem is still together. Kristi tells us the best movies of 2017, and plays Kesha. (Pastors love them some Kesha). Happy new year, y'all!
What makes a good gift? Why do we do it in the first place? (It has to do with astrology. Weird!) Pastor Kristi knows the joy of gift-giving, while David feels like an Amazon order-fulfillment specialist. What's his deal? Music from The Killers and our own David Ross. Peace out!
It's the most wonderful time of the yyeeeaarr....or....IS it?? (dun-dun-DUNNN) We love Christmas, but for some people the holidays are a huge bummer. Pastor Kristi and David talk about it. Music from Scott Krippayne and Kaskade.
Life knocks us around, but somehow we get up again (cue Chumbawamba!) To kick off this 2-part episode, Pastor Kristi and band leader David Ross talk about resilience, as seen in their own lives, the lives of friends, and notable leaders in history. We also tell Dave the news. You'll see...
Do you like change? Or do you avoid it like the plague? Pastor Kristi and David discuss life changes and letting go, with a little help from David Bowie and Frou Frou 8)
Is Instagram making you Insta-sad? It's okay. Pastor Kristi and David discuss self-image in the social media age #uprising #benfolds #johnnydiaz
