Independent journalist and author Snigdhendu Bhattacharya joins host Tushar Shetty to examine what the Cockroach Janata Party protests reveal about the erosion of India's democratic institutions. They discuss the satirical origins of the movement and the exam-leak grievances that fueled it, Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike and the government's effort to brand the protesters as foreign funded, and the forcible removal of Wangchuk and the police crackdown of July 20. They also cover the sidelining of Parliament and the collapse of the opposition as a channel for dissent, the Election Commission's loss of credibility after the disputed electoral roll revision in West Bengal, and the retreat of the judiciary and the mainstream press as independent checks on power. Bhattacharya argues that the movement grew as fast as it did precisely because every institutional avenue for grievance had already been hollowed out, leaving a frustrated generation with nowhere left to turn. This conversation was recorded on July 24, 2026, the day before Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned.
James is joined by Marcus Green and Sarah Kurchak to talk about the rise of Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling, and the Uprising show from March which Sarah attended, but more widely the promotion and its history, as well as its very bright future. The trio then move on to NOAH's Legacy Rise event and take a deep dive into the GHC Championship match between Tetsuya Endo and Champion Shane Haste.

Candidates affiliated with (or sympathetic to) the Democratic Socialists of America (the DSA) have recently won several Democratic primaries. Although this rise of the left takes a different form, it draws from prior social movements and Bernie Sanders' presidential candidacies. David Purucker has been both a close observer and a participant. He studied how the DSA makes decisions and organizes. Its electoral role draws from its relationship with the labor movement and other liberal causes. He says this year will raise a lot of questions about how the group responds to electoral success and failure.
Take 240: What's NewBig week. Jonathan and JP are back and there's a lot to get into.List It or Nix It kicks things off with seven fresh trailers — Mayday, I Play Rocky, The Uprising, Behemoth, The Other Mommy, Bad Apples, and Doomsday all go through the gauntlet. In What We've Been Watching, Jonathan saw The Odyssey and then apparently went on a full childhood cinema tour — Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Pagemaster, Harriet the Spy, Stuart Little, Shark Tale, and Zathura. JP brings Project Hail Mary, Lawrence of Arabia, After Hours, and The Odyssey to the table, with House of the Dragon and Silo on the TV side. Then the news, and it's a good one this week. The Odyssey opened to $124.5 million domestically and $264.1 million globally — Nolan's biggest worldwide opening ever, beating The Dark Knight Rises. The only films that opened bigger this year are Toy Story 5 and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Jon Bernthal filmed the Trojan Horse sequence submerged in cold water, Nolan offered to pull him out, and Bernthal's response was essentially: try harder. The film has no real competition until Spider-Man on July 31, which gives it room to run on a $250 million budget that needs the legs. And then — the Avengers: Doomsday trailer dropped this morning. First proper look at Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. Thor rallying heroes, closing with "we need a miracle" before turning around stunned at a "hey pal." Channing Tatum as Gambit. Cyclops, Mystique, Ant-Man, the Fantastic Four, the Wakandans. Tickets on sale now. Opens December 18. The SDCC Hall H panel is Saturday — further reveals expected. It's a good time to love movies.

Send us Fan MailWe name the full-body experience of rage and treat it as a protective signal from the nervous system rather than a personal failure. We unpack why anger can feel terrifying, what it costs to stay “polite,” and how to process rage in ways that create clarity, boundaries, and real momentum. • how the autonomic nervous system detects unsafe and shifts into fight, flight, freeze, or fawn • why rage often signals a crossed boundary or ignored need • how stress cycle completion supports calm, clarity, and control • why some anger is old, inherited, and tied to systemic oppression or ancestral trauma • the fear of being seen as angry and the hidden cost of staying quiet • using rage as information about values and what needs protection • moving anger through the body with safe expression like shaking, writing, or screaming If you'd like to support this work and want to dive deeper with practical tools and a supportive community, come find us in the Uprising over at Patreon. We also share our reactions to the trailers for "Digger," "Behemoth!" "The Uprising," "I Play Rocky," and "The Incomer." We are still answering your fan-submitted questions, but our answers will now be released separately the day after, in a new show called Mailbag Monday! Sharing a new series from Future Hindsight, Occupy! An Unfinished Uprising. Occupy Wall Street is the story of the improbable becoming possible. In 2008, millions of people were devastated by an economic crash caused by Wall Street greed, but it wasn't until 2011 that there was a mass response from the Left. A call to protest went out, and thousands of people responded. They raged against a system that was rigged against them and tried to create their own anti-capitalist village in a small Manhattan park. The movement quickly spread across the country, inspiring hundreds of occupations and a new generation of activists.Occupy! An Unfinished Uprising, is told through the voices of activists who camped out in Zuccotti Park for almost two months, getting inside the drama of a movement that grew rapidly, felt both transcendent and chaotic, and then violently flamed out. Occupy changed the national conversation about capitalism, popularized the language of the 99%, and inspired a generation of activists. As we approach Occupy's 15th anniversary this September, this series offers a reminder that collective action can reshape what seems possible. Listen to more episodes at http://swap.fm/l/Occupy!

Here's a bold statement: 99% of the emotional pain you feel today isn't happening to you — it's happening to a costume you're wearing. Napoleon Hill called it indifference. I call it the Unshakable Mindset. And today, I'm going to show you the exact four-step system I am using — right now, in real time — to stay architecturally sound while the world tries to shake me. Listen up, yo.
