Dans « I’ll take care of you », ce vétéran de la soul et pilier du blues de Memphis est accompagné du meilleur orchestre sudiste mené par son fidèle trompettiste. Le morceau, qui démarre avec un riff d’orgue des plus étonnants, a traversé les âges sans avoir été un grand tube. 2010 – Gil Scott-Heron revient tel un phœnix. Célèbre pour ses « chansons-poèmes », ce surdoué toujours resté underground avait disparu du radar de la musique et des médias. Richard Russel, producteur roi, repêche ce junkie tout juste sorti de prison. Il lui propose un catalogue de chansons plutôt blues et épurées, dont celle de Bobby Blue Bland. Avec « I’ll take care of you », le parrain du rap signe son dernier coup de maître. 2011 – Un an plus tard, Jamie xx reprend le morceau de Gil Scott Heron avec son piano caribéen. Le remix enregistré à l’iPhone sera diffusé dans un album et repéré par l’équipe de Drake. Le rappeur de Toronto est déjà une star aux Etats-Unis mais pas encore en Europe. Ce titre lui permettra de devenir une star de la pop au niveau mondial. We end the show with another topic that I have been wanting to have since the story first came out however, I haven't been in the right company to enjoy such a subject. The hilarious and tragic suicide of Richard Russel. Richard, 29, stole a plain from his work with intentions of ending his life but before he did so he gave us some of the best audio and video of his final moments and in turn (in my opinion) immortalized himself forever.
