I've been right where you are. I optimized my detox, diet, gut health and managed my stress…yet the stubborn weight wouldn't budge, my hair kept thinning, and sleep felt like a distant memory. Then my research led me to a hidden variable: chronic oxidative stress from cell phones, 5G/6G cell towers and Wi-Fi. This Wednesday, I'm sitting down with Dr. Wendy Myers of Myers Detox to break down exactly how this "invisible toxin" is sabotaging: Hormone balance — research shows EMF radiation disrupts reproductive organ tissues and decreases hormone signaling, production and clearance (leading to estrogen dominance which = higher risk of cancer, low T, depression, metabolic issues and more) Sleep — chronic phone exposure suppresses melatonin and destroys circadian rhythm Weight — EMFs act as a chronic stressor, spiking cortisol and locking onto visceral belly fat Skin & hair — reactive oxygen species from EMFs degrade elasticity and disrupt follicle signaling Mold & parasites — EMF exposure dramatically weakens immune defense, allowing mold colonization and parasite overgrowth to accelerate by thousands of times What makes this so dangerous is especially if you're battling mold sensitivity or a stubborn parasite load, your phone and Wi-Fi are essentially feeding the fire. The more you're exposed, the faster those organisms can thrive — which is why so many people feel like they're "doing everything right" and still not recovering. These fields are also what blocks your signaling receptor sites and hence peptide production and utilization. We'll talk about the science, the real-world symptoms people are overlooking and the simple EMF protection steps that you can do right now to finally let your nervous system rest and repair. This is one of the most important topics right now in the realm of health! Then after in the VIP group, I'll be in with Dr Wendy answering any questions you might have on how to take action! On the 5 September 1986, hijackers took over a Pan-American Airways flight during a stop-over at Karachi Airport in Pakistan. The armed Palestinian terrorists wanted to fly the plane to Cyprus and Israel, to free members of their organisation who were jailed there. But, after the pilots escaped the cockpit, the plane stayed on the ground for 16 hours with almost 400 passengers on board. When the power on the plane ran out – the hijackers began to shoot indiscriminately. 22 people were killed and more than 150 injured. Madhvi Bahunga was a Pan-American Airways flight attendant, who was on the plane that day. She speaks to Tim O'Callaghan. Witness History is a short BBC World Service podcast about history that takes you inside big moments from the past through first-hand testimony and archive. Each weekday, in around nine minutes, we revisit one moment that helped shape the world and hear it through the voice of someone who was there. Scientists, artists, campaigners, soldiers, leaders and everyday people tell their true stories. When you subscribe to Witness History, you'll be taken inside turning points in world affairs from West Africa's fight back against Boko Haram in 2015 to the behind-closed-doors talks that led to the US-Cuba “thaw” and the surprise announcement of restored relations. You'll discover what it was like to experience disasters and how people recovered from them, including the Tabasco floods in Mexico, Portugal's worst train disaster, and the huge clean-up after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. You'll explore culture and ideas too: Sweden's Expedition Robinson, often credited as the first modern reality TV game show; the friendship between The Beatles' George Harrison and Indian sitarist Ravi Shankar; and the night a tiger attack brought Las Vegas superstars Siegfried and Roy's show to a sudden end. And if you're curious about inventions, we'll tell you how air fryers, BlackBerry, YouTube, Alexa, GPS, superglue, the shopping cart (shopping trolley) and bubble tea were created. What if the simplest way to open every door in front of you is to refuse to close any of them? In this episode, John Loyack, President of Rider University, shares how 40 years across corporate finance, energy, rail, and higher education led him to a model that turns struggling universities into engines of economic redevelopment for the cities they serve. He has now done it three times, in Wilkes-Barre, Reading, and Pottsville, and is starting again in Trenton. But John traces the whole approach back to two men: a colleague at a lighting company who taught him a leadership style, and a construction executive who handed him an entire political network he had no obligation to share. [00:04:48] What He Does and Who He Serves President of Rider University, a role he started in July His third time leading a higher education institution Came into higher ed as a first-generation student whose own college was struggling Knew nothing about higher education but a lot about restructuring businesses [00:06:44] The Model: Unleashing What a University Already Has Universities rarely start these projects with money, but they have bright, talented people Connects those resources to the community to accelerate local development Students get experiential learning while providing real free resources He has now done this in four cities, most recently Trenton [00:08:21] Why It Works Like Karma When you are in it for something bigger than you, partnerships become genuine He arrives with an asset to offer rather than an ask Resources then appear that he never would have had otherwise Partnerships fall out of it without him even trying [00:10:26] Do It Before You Have to Do It for Real Wants students doing the work many times before it counts Runs student-centered business incubators with graduate mentors and local entrepreneurs Rider is built to support first-generation students, which benefits everyone That experience almost always leads to a job [00:11:52] The Student as Customer Says students are customers and the value equation has to work An undergraduate degree means roughly another million dollars over a lifetime A graduate degree takes that to about a million and a half Higher education has to be the facilitator of that outcome [00:16:03] How He Got Here First-generation student who found his own way to King's College Started at Pricewaterhouse and became a CPA Realized he wanted finance and problem solving inside a real business Moved to Lutron Electronics and then eight years at Union Pacific [00:18:54] From CFO to College Turnaround Became chief accounting officer then CFO at PNM Resources The work connected him to Wall Street and bond deals Became CEO of the unregulated business after the company split Stepped in to save King's College and never left higher education [00:20:36] What the King's Turnaround Produced Arrived when an S&P rating would have been good luck Left after completing an $80 million bond deal at BBB plus Built new programs, new athletics, and downtown Wilkes-Barre redevelopment There were no road maps for running a university like a business at the time [00:22:00] Reading and the Poorest City in the Country Got a call telling him Reading needed what he had done in Wilkes-Barre Reading was Pennsylvania's fourth largest city and the poorest in the country Grew Alvernia from a master's institution to a professional doctoral one Converted half a million square feet of downtown into College Town [00:23:53] When Others Start Following You Developers who worked in Reading came to Pottsville only because Alvernia went there They followed the university into a market it had proven out He calls it the highest form of compliment when partners follow you [00:27:41] The First Relationship That Changed Everything: Mike Patino Worked with Mike at Lutron after leaving public accounting John was a public accountant suddenly standing on a production floor Mike did not have to engage at the level he did, but he did anyway Even when John failed, Mike made him feel good while teaching the lesson [00:29:15] The Leadership Style That Built Thousands of Partnerships Mike gave him the architecture for connected personal relationships in business Accountability and genuine care for each other can coexist John credits Mike for the skill set behind thousands of partnerships Mike has no idea, because they never had that conversation [00:31:02] Why It Matters More in Higher Education Business partnerships can be transactional and one-time A university is in its community forever with infrastructure it cannot move He is not leaving no matter how bad it gets That permanence makes relationship building the special sauce [00:32:54] The Multiplier Effect Good relationships mean you think of that partner for things beyond the original scope That leads to more opportunities and more ways to get things done With a difficult client you only think about how to get out The best partnerships produce things you could not have drawn on a whiteboard [00:34:01] The Second Relationship: Barry Schlauch Arrived in Reading knowing no one, unlike Wilkes-Barre where he grew up Walked downtown at sunset asking himself what he needed that he did not have The answer was access to the political machinery Barry, a construction executive, happened to attend his first president's dinner [00:36:29] Hijacking the Meeting Barry told a trustee to get John into a meeting on downtown redevelopment Reading had 25 years of fits and starts with nothing to show John brought his brochure and took over the entire meeting They talked about nothing but College Town and the building they planned to buy [00:37:00] The Network He Had No Obligation to Share Barry made his full political network available to John John joined every political event and they told the story together Every level of government showed up when the building opened Barry did not have to help; he saw the community impact and engaged [00:39:22] Why He Signs Up in Five to Six Year Chunks These turnarounds are five or six year processes Real value comes from bringing what you know to a business that does not know it Every institution is a new Rubik's cube and a new community to impact He says it feels like his first job all over again [00:41:05] The Vision for Rider Phase one is reshaping the institution to live within its cash flow Phase two is reprioritizing resources to build the engine for growth Phase three is community engagement and economic redevelopment in Trenton All three run at the same time and shift in weight as the years go on [00:46:03] Final Word: Start with Yes A rule he began at Alvernia, a Franciscan institution About 75% of the time starting with yes gets both parties where they want to go Another 20% ends somewhere unexpected but still creates a partnership Saying no means you never get anywhere at all   KEY QUOTES "To me, leadership at its best is when you're looking out for your community as a business leader and you're willing to put your capital at risk to make it happen, that's the best level of entrepreneurship." - John Loyack "We start every conversation with yes. Before a damaged roof ever becomes a filed insurance claim, something else is already happening. Public adjusters are buying search ads. Doppelganger websites are going live. Lead generators are positioning themselves to intercept confused policyholders the moment they turn to a search engine for help. This is the world Todd Kozikowski, CEO of 4WARN, is mapping, and the picture he paints in the latest episode of the Predict & Prevent podcast is one that most insurance carriers have never seen.Todd details how 4WARN's outside-in approach differs from traditional claims analysis tools by monitoring trillions of public digital signals to act as an "early warning radar." He shares concrete client results, including a Louisiana insurer that saved nearly $9 million by cutting its litigation rate, and discusses emerging threats such as AI-driven search manipulation and internationally hosted fraudulent insurance sites. The conversation underscores a "predict and prevent" philosophy to get ahead of fraud, litigation, and brand abuse before they ever materialize into a claim or lawsuit.Resources:4WARN website: https://www.4warn.com/The Institutes: https://web.theinstitutes.org/The Institutes Griffith Foundation: https://www.griffithfoundation.org/Predict & Prevent website: https://www.predictandprevent.org/Sign up for our weekly Predict & Prevent newsletter: https://www.predictandprevent.org/newsletter/

In this episode, Dr. K unpacks the massive and often contradictory mental health conversation surrounding GLP-1 agonists like Ozempic. Moving past the physical weight loss, he breaks down the complex psychiatric side effects—from the "Ozempic personality" to why the medication's impact on depression depends entirely on your starting weight. What to expect in this episode: The Dopamine "Speed Limit": How GLP-1 agonists act like a speed governor on your brain's engine, capping extreme dopamine spikes without affecting your day-to-day baseline levels. This specific mechanism blocks the intense reward spikes (similar to loot boxes or the lottery) that trigger neural rewiring and severe addictions. The "Ozempic Personality" & Anhedonia: Why capping those dopamine spikes can cause a side effect known as anhedonia—the inability to feel pleasure. Dr. K explains how this blunting effect can slowly shrink a person's daily sphere of motivation and activity. Frequency vs. Quantity: Why studies show Ozempic doesn't reduce the number of days you choose to drink, but significantly drops the amount of alcohol you consume. By capping the dopamine response, it blunts the progressive craving that typically makes you want a second or third glass. The Weight Discrepancy: Why obese individuals taking the drug see no net increase in depression, while healthy-weight users face a significantly higher risk of mood crashes. Dr. K explains how the massive hormonal and social benefits of resolving severe obesity balance out the chemical blunting occurring in the brain's emotional regulation centers. Hijacking the Starvation Signal: Why GLP-1 agonists are incredibly dangerous for restrictive eating disorders like anorexia. Normally, a starving body sends strong, protective craving signals that fight against conscious restriction; GLP-1s silence these signals, enabling the anorexic mind to restrict calories down to dangerous extremes. The 5% Trigger: How losing just 5% of body weight can turn on rigid thinking and trigger atypical anorexia in individuals with healthy BMIs who are vulnerable to social media body-image pressures. The Addiction Spectrum: Why GLP-1s successfully curb substances like alcohol, nicotine, and behavioral issues like impulsive shopping, but may paradoxically worsen pornography use. What if the voice you think is from God is actually leading you toward deception? Joseph Z joins Tony Merkel to reveal the supernatural encounter that launched his prophetic calling. From that life-changing experience, he explains how God began shaping his understanding of the prophetic, why counterfeit spiritual experiences are becoming more convincing, and how believers can develop the discernment needed to recognize truth in an increasingly deceptive world. Rather than living in fear, Joseph offers a biblical perspective on hearing God's voice, walking in your God-given calling, and remaining firmly rooted in Christ as spiritual battles intensify. Whether you're curious about the prophetic, searching for biblical answers, or simply want to grow closer to God, this conversation will challenge what you think you know about hearing His voice. If you're able, consider helping the Merkel family with medical expenses by donating to Lindsay's GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/b8f76890

Since launching in 2022 with around 470 people, The Well has grown to 1,300 to 1,400 every weekend, with 2,800 this past Easter, largely because they've become experts at connecting first-time guests and helping them take a next step.At the center of it all is a simple, fun idea Victor calls "Party With the Pastor." If you've ever struggled to move people from the crowd into your Growth Track, next-steps class, or small groups, this conversation will give you a practical, repeatable strategy you can start using right away.In this episode, you'll learn: How to "hijack the conversation" so guests talk about your church all the way home What a "Party With the Pastor" is, and the exact 15-minute (5-5-5) formula that makes it work Why Victor tells his church, "We're here more for the first-time guests than we are for you" How to naturally feed your Growth Track every single month without begging people to sign up The in-person and online "feeder" systems that get guests to the party (cards, texts, personalized videos) Why "nothing makes a person stick to a church more than finding a friend" How a doctor from Nigeria ended up planting one of the fastest-growing churches aroundThis is a masterclass in church connection, guest follow-up, and assimilation for pastors, church planters, and ministry leaders who want people to move from attending to belonging.About our guest: Pastor Victor Ehiemere is the lead pastor of The Well Church in Maryland, which he planted with his wife, Pastor Amby. We analyze how the Trump administration is applying maximum pressure to permanently end the nuclear weapons program while routing unfrozen assets directly into purchasing American corn, soy, and wheat to enrich domestic farmers and feed the Iranian people. The crew welcomes Frank Scales from Surge Philly to expose the intense friction occurring on the ground at recent local pride festivals in Washington, D.C., and Baltimore. Frank shares wild firsthand footage of self-appointed security forces utilizing aggressive intimidation tactics and improperly holstered firearms on public property to silence independent journalism. Dawn reacts to the shocking refusal of attendees to recognize basic biological realities and addresses the deeper cultural push to upend traditional Western values, replace father figures, and target young children. Dawn shifts focus to the mainstream media's ongoing bias by omission, tracking how major success stories under the Trump administration consistently vanish from the nightly news. We look at how Department of Homeland Security leaders Tom Homan and Markwayne Mullin are quietly executing highly effective crackdowns on both the supply and demand sides of human trafficking and illegal labor. Finally, we laugh at the media's sudden obsession with Washington reflection pool algae, discuss the hostile treatment of golfer Wyndham Clark by an arrogant New York crowd at the US Open, and lament the growing "hall of cowards" as local towns cancel traditional Fourth of July parades.

You've cleaned up your diet. You're taking your hormones. You're doing everything right. And you're still dealing with headaches. Brain fog. Anxiety. Fatigue you can't explain. What if the problem isn't your hormones at all and it's been sitting in your pantry the whole time? In this episode, Dr. Terri sits down with nutritionist Elizabeth DiMeo to break down excitotoxins, chemicals hiding in everyday processed foods that literally overstimulate and damage brain cells. From aspartame to MSG to yeast extract and carrageenan, these ingredients are showing up in food bars, baby formula, school lunches, diet sodas, and snack foods that most of us consider perfectly fine. And the symptoms they cause look almost identical to hormone deficiency. This isn't about shame. It's about information the food industry has never wanted on the label. If you've ever been handed a Prozac prescription for anxiety, a Ritalin referral for your kid, or told your symptoms are just stress, this episode is for you. What you'll discover: What excitotoxins actually are, how they get into the food supply, and why their symptoms are so easy to misdiagnose [06:09] Why the symptom list for excitotoxin overload and hormone deficiency look nearly identical — and what that means for your treatment plan [06:31] The compounding effect: how a typical "healthy" day of eating can layer excitotoxin exposure from breakfast through dinner [13:21] Why children are the most vulnerable — and what's hiding in baby formula, school lunches, and the snacks marketed as nutritious [12:00] The three-year-old who was nearly put on Ritalin — and what happened one week after his mom pulled food dyes from his diet [24:01] Why the same food companies sell chemical-free versions of their products in Europe but not in the US [26:28] Practical weeknight swaps and meal prep strategies that cut your excitotoxin load without overhauling your entire life [27:55] Eat food God made, not man made — the simple framework that ties it all together [22:59] The symptoms are real. A SECRETIVE religious group that wields power in Washington, D.C. and other world capitals — sounds like the basis for Dan Brown's next novel, but it's real. Jeff Sharlet, author of The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power, has been following this group for years, even living at The Family's headquarters for a time. What he found is a group that justifies its pursuit of political power by claiming that it's for the kingdom of God.Read Jeff's original expose of The Family, “Jesus Plus Nothing,” at Harper's Magazine online. Christians are taking heat for The Family from the likes of The Huffington Post and MSNBC. The irony is that The Family isn't promoting a Christian agenda, but a New Age agenda. Your amygdala was built to fire under six conditions that could kill you. Now it's firing every time you pick up your phone, and Dr. Dave Rabin says that's the root of the modern mental health crisis. I sat down with Dr. Dave Rabin at the Beyond Biohacking conference in Austin to talk through what's actually happening in your nervous system. Rabin, a neuroscientist and psychiatrist who developed the Apollo wearable out of his PTSD research at the University of Pittsburgh, breaks down how trauma is a fear-learning disorder, why numbing symptoms fails 80% of people, and how the body has to relearn safety to extinguish fear. We get into the smartphone problem too: thirty minutes of scrolling feeds your brain as many social cues as a person took in over a full week in the 1950s, which tricks the fear center into thinking you're under threat when you're not. From there it goes deeper into the science of the vagus nerve, how the Apollo device uses sound-wave vibrations to add real sleep back each night, and the case for psychedelic medicines like ketamine, MDMA, and psilocybin as tools that amplify safety in a therapeutic setting and let people remake meaning around past trauma. If you're interested in mental health, trauma recovery, vagus nerve stimulation, biohacking, or the neuroscience behind why we feel so wired, this one delivers. 0:00 Meet Dr. Dave Rabin and what Apollo actually is 0:18 PTSD research origins and why numbing symptoms fails 1:59 Is the mental health crisis tied to fear and safety 2:12 How the amygdala evolved and what your phone does to it 4:40 How long it takes to retrain your nervous system 5:54 Letting your inner child roam free 7:26 The stigma around trauma and mental health 9:09 What reliably brings joy 9:59 How psychedelics are used to heal trauma Like and subscribe for the conversations on health and the mind that mainstream media won't have.

The root issue is not willpower. It's hormones and inflammation. A 2019 NIH study by Kevin Hall had participants eating ultra-processed vs. whole foods at matched calories. On the ultra-processed diet, they ate 500 extra calories per day without realizing it. The food was driving the overconsumption, not a lack of discipline. The five foods to remove: Liquid sugar. Sodas, juices, sports drinks, and flavored coffee drinks don't register as fullness. The Harvard Nurses' Health Study found adding one sugary drink per day led to 358 extra calories consumed daily. Swap for black coffee, plain tea, or sparkling water. Ultra-processed breads and tortillas. Stripped of nutrition and engineered for shelf life, modern bread spikes blood sugar as much as a Snickers bar according to Dr. William Davis. Opt for fermented sourdough or sprouted grain, or remove bread entirely for 30 days. Boxed pastas and processed comfort foods. Hyper-palatable combinations of salt, sugar, fat, and starch that overstimulate the brain's reward centers while leaving the body nutritionally depleted. A follow-up to Hall's study found people eating these foods consumed up to 1,000 extra calories per day. Seed oil-laden dressings, sauces, and condiments. Soybean, canola, corn, sunflower, and related oils produce carcinogenic aldehydes during processing and are in roughly 80% of the food supply. Replace with avocado oil, extra virgin olive oil, grass-fed butter, ghee, coconut oil, beef tallow, or duck fat. Look for seed oil-free brands like Primal Kitchen and Chosen Foods. Alcohol. A 1992 New England Journal of Medicine study found moderate alcohol consumption drops fat oxidation by 70% for hours. The liver prioritizes clearing alcohol above all else, including fat burning, while simultaneously increasing appetite and lowering the brain's stop-eating signals.
