For our first new release reviews of the year, we discuss into the messy revelations and difficult sprawl of SZA's underwhelming S.O.S., and we unpack the raw expression of Little Simz's emotional and cathartic NO THANK YOU, the two releases that dominated December 2022. Let us know what you thought of them in the comments on YouTube! 0:00 SZA - S.O.S. 25:23 Little Simz - NO THANK YOU

Andreas Odbjerg, Swan Lee, Svaneborg Kardyb, Ganger, Gorgeous, Real Lies, Arctic Monkeys, Little Simz, JULIET og Zar Paulo. Morale & The Big Steppers“.

Mluvíme o albu SOS od americké rapperky a zpěvačky SZA a Britce Little Simz, která překvapila s novinkou NO THANK YOU.
The Royal Shakespeare Company & The Jim Henson Company - 'Min Granne Totoro'.

In this episode we welcome the splendid Holly Gleason, all the way from downtown Nashville, and invite her to tell us about her life as a country music writer and publicist.Holly explains how, as a teenage championship golfer, she first became enamoured of country in her native state of Ohio, later writing about it (as well as about rap and R&B) for the Miami Herald. Salvör Bergmann fjallar um House of the dragon, nýja þætti úr sagnaheimi Game of thrones. Hún segir að þættirnir séu ferskir en einnig kunnuglegir og ættu þannig að gleðja hvern þann sem notið hefur söguheimsins frá upphafi. Við veltum fyrir okkur hinni miklu fornsögulegu Gyðju og hvernig hún birtist í ljóðlist með Berglindi Gunnarsdóttur. Tónlist frá Van Morrison og Little Simz.
This week Seb and Verity venture into the Bedfordshire countryside to meet virtuoso percussionist Joby Burgess.Joby is embarking on a UK tour at the end of September performing his new album A Percussionist's Songbook - a collection of specially commissioned songs by eight composers, including Graham Fitkin, Dobrinka Tabakova, Gabriel Prokofiev and Joby himself! The conversation takes place in Joby's home studio which in a former life was both a coach house and a hairdresser - conversation ranges from where they are going on holiday this year to whether it'll be a full head of highlights or a half…only kidding!Joby discusses how the balance of his career has shifted over the last few years with a much greater emphasis on recording. With this in mind, he chats about the prospect of returning to live performances with a mixture of excitement and trepidation. They discuss Joby's weird, wonderful and extensive collection of percussion instruments, Tom Cruise's penchant for bongos, workshopping and recording Little Simz's epic album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert and the pitfalls of performing using a full Fanta bottle and electronics with reference to a specific incident in Cambridge…To book tickets for Joby's tour click here: https://www.jobyburgess.com/liveAnd to find out more about upcoming performances/recordings/education projects visit his website: https://www.jobyburgess.com/This episode is fuelled by Chimney Fire Coffee who have sponsored this podcast.
