Episode 3 of Literally Dying is the longest one yet - so I hope you're all ready to strap in and talk about some sad stuff! I sit down with Rye Silverman, Dave Ross, and Caitlin Lemaire who all tell the stories of what they did in the moment they found out a person they loved was dead (or about to be dead). Rye found herself at work within hours of getting the call that her brother had died. Dave finished laundry, fought with his girlfriend, and then got on stage in front of a bunch of strangers to talk about his dead grandma. And Caitlin tells two stories, one that's kind of about a fart. Oh also, you will hear us say the word literally way too many times. #LiterallyDying #StateLines. State-Lines.com SPONSOR US! On our first real episode of Literally Dying, I figured it was a good time to talk about first real death experiences. My guests Caitlin Lemaire, Keith Carey, Laura Hardin, and Rye Silverman all had very different things to say on the matter. I mean Caitlin LITERALLY died herself... I know I usually use that word incorrectly, so you might find it hard to trust me, but trust me. She did. Keith, as usual, says a bunch of stuff that makes me roll my eyes and worry about my family listening. Laura shares what it's like to watch parents talk to their kids about death at the mortuary. Spoiler: they're not great at it. And we meet Rye for the first time, who chimes in with a quick story about her dad. I also share some stories people submitted to me on Facebook, ramble on for too long about George Bell, and don't fully understand how to make the sound work properly. (PLEASE be patient with me, guys! I know the sound on this episode isn't awesome but we'll keep getting better. Don't let that turn you off!) Ten Hut! Quarterback that lineman! More sports terms are coming because in this episode the Rebootniks get locked up on the gridiron as they watch Burt Reynolds in The Longest Yard and Adam Sandler in it's remake! They are joined by super cool LA comic Rye Silverman (who's album Intimate Apparel was No. 1 on Amazon!) and talk about prison, Sandler, being extras, The Hobbit, and promising young talent! So lets get down in the mud and get the Game Ball as Reboot, Reuse, Recycle touchdowns The Longest Yard(1974/2005)!
Comedians Joan Ford and Rye Silverman sit in for Wynter and Margaret to talk about TV shows that were cancelled too soon, whether we'd want to go to Disney's proposed Star Wars Land and what's been going on with the Hugo Awards. With Guy Branum, Oliver Wang, Joan Ford & Rye Silverman. Produced by Colin Anderson for MaximumFun.org
Kelly & Tom are joined by Los Angeles comedian Rye Silverman for their recap of Peaky Blinders S2E2 and things get rowdy! The trio debates what constitutes a stigmata, the usefulness of horse medicine, Ada’s commitment to the tenets of socialist thought, the fact that church bells don’t have a snooze alarm, and whether Esme’s betrayal means they can’t like her any more. This episode is also blissfully free of any of Grace’s singing. Kelly gets very twitterpated about Cillian and Tom Hardy in the same room,Tom refuses to entertain any exploding babies, and Rye has more insightful thoughts on Downton Abbey and television in general than she expected. Comedian Dustin Meadows hosts a weekly show wherein he watches his favorite movies with other comedians who've never seen the film before. Dustin and Rye Silverman take Lauren Bencaz through a world where Invisible Swordsman and Singing Bushes make sense against the backdrop of a helpless Mexican village forced to recruit three actors to save them from El Guapo, one of the greatest villains to ever grace the screen. We also maybe get a little sidetracked and lay into people who get pissed about remakes and artistic license with comic book movies. *Artwork by Brandon Schneider
