Biblical giving transforms our relationship with both God and money, leading to joy, peace, and freedom. The tithe represents 10% of our gross income given as first fruits to God, demonstrating that He comes first in our finances. Jesus spoke about money more than heaven and hell combined because our treasure and heart are connected. Five key principles guide biblical giving: God owns everything and we are His managers, our heart follows our treasure, heaven is our true home, giving breaks materialism's power, and God blesses us to increase our giving rather than our lifestyle. Starting with 1% and gradually increasing helps develop faithful giving habits that position us to experience God's abundant blessings.Thank you for joining us at NorthRidge Church! Dan, Manny, & Billy give their honest opinions on the slew of reboot, remake, and legacy sequel slop and rumors, and they put it all to the ultimate test—THE NOSTALGIA TEST! “I feel like as a society, we just went back in time anyway, and [...] should we be happy about it? Like there's so many things that are happening that are like from our era, like, Brittany Spears got arrested for DUI [we're] back at war with the Middle East. I mean, like, we're in the nineties. Even the government wanted to be nostalgic. I think what I'm going to say, I wanna blame us for this.” -Manny Coelho If you've been a longtime listener to the pod then you know the boys' opinion on reboots, and they really don't veer away from their absolute hatred and confusion of the reboot craze and legacy sequels that aren't Top Gun 2: Maverick. They react to the news of reboots for Starship Troopers and Faces of Death, and then Billy gives a brief and honest breakdown of the 2025 reboot of Youngbloods. They comes the endless legacy sequel rumors and news. They question the logic for a Demolition Man 2, Face/Off 2, Heat 2, Riddick 4, Toy Story 5, another Conan the Barbarian, Predator w/ Schwarzenegger, and why not do a legacy sequel for one of the most unhinged 80s action movies ever made Commando. Days of Thunder legacy sequel anyone? This one causes the guys to pause and think about what Tom Cruise would be able to do in this film, what's the big stunt, and Dan has a suggestion for Mr. Cruise. Then the guys try to figure out how William Shatner got so famous being so mediocre, Dan gives an energetic F-you monologue to Gene Simmons and then graces everyone with his rendition of the Different World theme song because, that's right, they're producing a sequel series! Why not, right. And while we're at it, let's make a confusing to figure out when it would start Man on Fire Series. If Hollywood is listening (or is interested at all) Billy is ready to help write and produce the Ghost Rider movie we all deserved. Buon ascolto.
This week on Forgotten Cinema, the Mikes discuss "A Man Apart", a gritty early-2000s action thriller that Butler remembered liking as a teenager, but this time...not so much.Mike Butler and Mike Field are not fans. While Vin Diesel does a good job, the movie falls apart on nearly every level. The plot is a mess, the writing is weak, the action lacks impact, and the overall execution never comes together. It manages to hit all the usual beats of early-2000s gritty action cinema, but in all the wrong ways.Ironically, that makes for a very fun conversation. The Mikes dig into why "A Man Apart" serves as a perfect example of that era's style without the substance to support it.A rough watch, but an entertaining breakdown. What's your favorite Vin Diesel role other than Toretto or Riddick? Let us know in the comments!

Our journey through the Riddick trilogy has been a fun one! We both enjoyed the first two movies, so hopefully Vin Diesel's 2013 sci-fi film can bring the entire adventure home. In this film, the series returns to its action-horror roots as we find Richard B. Riddick stuck on another dangerous planet with a new bunch of mercenaries. There are gory kills, there are cheesy one-liners, and there's even an alien dog!Join our Patreon for our bonus episodes! https://www.patreon.com/oldiebutagoodiepodFollow the show!Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oldiebutagoodiepod/Facebook: https://fb.me/oldiebutagoodiepodPodcast Platforms: https://linktr.ee/oldiebutagoodiepodGot feedback? We honestly think that 'The Chronicles of Riddick' might take the prize for the Sequel With The Most Worldbuilding Of All Time award. We've reached the second stop in our journey through Vin Diesel's sci-fi franchise, and this one has so much new lore to discuss. Some might say too much. Written and directed once again by David Twohy, this new Riddick tale shifts the genre from horror to action and delves deep into his backstory.Join our Patreon for our bonus episodes! https://www.patreon.com/oldiebutagoodiepodFollow the show!Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oldiebutagoodiepod/Facebook: https://fb.me/oldiebutagoodiepodPodcast Platforms: https://linktr.ee/oldiebutagoodiepodGot feedback? Over the next three weeks, the boys are going to be checking out the entire Riddick trilogy. The first stop on this adventure is the 2000 film Pitch Black. Directed by David Twohy and introducing Vin Diesel as Richard B. Riddick, this sci-fi horror throws a bunch of characters on a dangerous planet to see who survives. It's also filmed in South Australia and features heaps of Aussie actors, including Claudia Black as a character called Shazza! This week, the Mikes are crash landing on a hostile alien planet with Radha Mitchell, Cole Hauser, and escaped murderer Vin Diesel as they discuss the 2000 sci-fi film "Pitch Black". Butler loved this movie when he was 13 and he still really likes it today, with a few logic and story issues. Field says he doesn't NOT like the film, but it kind of really seems like a hater. Along the way they'll discuss the alien creatures our survivors are trying to escape and the fact that Richard B. Riddick wasn't originally meant to survive or have the redemption arc that he does, but a young Dom Toretto charmed director David Twohy, studio execs, and the cast and crew. A twist of fate that would spawn 2 (and soon 3!) Riddick-centric sequels. What's your favorite "Aliens" rip off film? Or do you like the other Riddick saga films? Let us know in the comments below!
It's time for another Life in the Fast Lane, and we're talking about Family Vacations with My Brother, The GOAT, Michael Jordan! First, though: a Tokyo Drift Minute with a transition to Sean at school (and a new actress whose filmography we can explore). While there's no real news, Vin continues to post through it. As we Run the VIN (happy birthday, Vin, btw!), we have our big question from last Fast Lane answered, we discover a new name for Dos Bandoleros (we're getting closer!), and we learn that we've lost a crucial resource for this segment. Does Vin Diesel know how to read Instagram comments? We debate. What's clear, though: he's still in Kojak and Riddick mode. We then cover the Hobbs & Shaw IMDb goofs, including one demonstrating a total waste of time for everyone involved. Is Sean's dad stealing valor? We explore. Plus: how long were Sean's parents together? We debate. We also talk about spending time with our moms. Email us: family@cageclub.meVisit our Patreon page at patreon.com/2fast2forever. That is, until Jaws was released. Adapted from a novel by Peter Benchley, Steven Spielberg took on the challenge of filming this movie an the actual ocean with a not-actual shark. It was an overnight success and moviegoers lined up around the block to get terrified of going to the beach. Plus, it spawned a ton of sequels and knock-offs. After this, movies changed forever. And so did Spielberg's career. Let's take a look at Jaws and what came after it. When did you see Jaws? Were you afraid to go into the water afterwards?
