Listen as Pastor Harold shares a few examples on how we can be an integral part in putting this world back together.
As Christians, we are not immune to the struggles of life. In fact, Jesus taught that we should expect to experience trouble because we are Christians! Despite this, the Bible also teaches that we have an advantage to help us through our struggles. We learn in James that we can actually experience joy during the painful times in our lives! Today, we’re going to dig into this concept as we try to answer this one simple question: How can we find joy in suffering?

Intro: You are at the doctor’s. She sits you down, and says, “It doesn’t look good.” Your boss pulls you into his office. He tells you,”We have to let you go.” You are on the phone with the caretaker about the latest crisis with your elderly parent, and in the background your teenager yells out, “I hate you!” Your brain is swirling. Your blood pressure is rising. What to do? Take Home Point: When the trials of life rock your boat, God’s wisdom will get you through the rough waters. From James, Don’t freak out. 1. Although “S_____ happens,” the process will produce steadfastness. (James 1:3-4) 2. Don’t run first to friends for advice. Accept God’s invitation for His wisdom. (James 1:5) Don’t treat God like a genie. Without waffling, trust God totally. (James 1:6-8) God = Steadfastness

If going through tests and trials produced patience in us, why don't we already have more patience than we do? Despite what many Christians think on this, the Bible does not teach that tests and trials produce patience. So what does it teach in James 1:2?
