Shiloh Neighborhood Church
Next Step Read and reflect on the Apostles’ Creed, remembering that because Jesus is Lord, we are the family of God, made up of all kinds of people.
Next Steps: Read Psalms 105 and 106 and meditate on the story of Israel: God the faithful promise-keeper, and the consequences of people’s unfaithfulness. Reflect on Jesus’ double-edged faithfulness: He is the manifestation of God’s faithfulness to us, and he is the one who is faithful to God for us and through us.
Reflection Ask God to help you understand more fully that you belong in His family. Thank Him for freely welcoming you. Ask Jesus to show you how to live a life that is faithful to Him as He has been faithful to the Father.
Reflection What things do you do to try to gain freedom, when in fact Jesus’ kingship means you are already free? What things is Jesus calling you to do as part of living in his New Creation?
Reflection questions: Is your hope that Jesus will get you out of this world? Or, is it that he will come and make things right, and that he is already doing so to you and through you? What things have you thought of as essential to being a Christian that are added on to the announcement of Jesus’ kingship?

Next Steps: Remind yourself that God wants to use your trial to do something good in you, and find joy in that. Meditate on the goodness of God each day this week.
Next Step: Take some time this week to consider the things that have become too foundational for you and ask God to help you build your life upon Jesus again.

Next Steps: Fast during Lent (this Wednesday through Good Friday) to remind yourself to follow God for Himself, not just for His promises. Remind yourself daily that all God’s promises find their “yes” in Jesus, and that you are able to say “amen” by joining in the Way of Jesus.
Next Steps: Instead of seeking power, remember that God works through those who have no power to accomplish His aims. Create a physical reminder that God keeps His promises.
Next Steps: Intercede for the people around you by praying for them to experience God’s mercy and generosity. Remind yourself daily that God’s goodness is better and more complete than our own goodness. Ask Him to help you see others the way He does: as His dearly loved ones.
