Send us Fan MailProminent music publicist and SiriusXM radio host Eric Alper explores the intersection of the music industry, systemic barriers for Indigenous artists and the way forward for truth and conciliation in Canada. In this conversation with cohosts Jessica Vandenberghe and George Lee, Alper reflects on his 30-year career, his lifelong passion for the magic of storytelling in music, and why he adopts the mindset of a "shameless idealist" when fighting to get musicians heard."I keep saying yes to doing things for no other reason that I just like and love music, and I like being around people that make magic happen, because I can't play a single note," Alper says. "I've never written a song before. You stick me in a recording studio, I've absolutely no idea, zero, what and how anything is done." But what he does know is that the entertainment industry has historically excluded and exploited Indigenous voices. At the same time, he notes that classifying Indigenous music as a distinct genre undervalues the breadth of musical styles within the scene today.Among the Indigenous artists and acts Alper highlights are Francis Baptiste, Tom Wilson, Crystal Shawanda, Northern Cree, Susan Aglukark, Mattmac, Mike Bern, Duke Redbird and Donita Large. Also getting a special shoutout is the non-Indigenous group Sultans of String and its cofounder Chris McKhool for their groundbreaking collaborations with Indigenous acts in Canada, resulting in the album Walking Through the Fire.McKhool has "kind of been a beacon" for people trying to right the wrongs against Indigenous communities and individuals in Canada, Alper says.Support the showJoin our Facebook community: www.facebook.com/UnsettledJourneys/Check us out on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/unsettledjourneys/Become a paid subscriber: https://ko-fi.com/unsettledjourneysQuestions, comments, suggestions, offers to volunteer:unsettledjourneys@gmail.com

What does it look like to trust God when you don’t have a clear answer — or even silence feels like the only response? In this episode, Ash and Cam unpack Romans 10:14 and explore what it really means to live a life of faith that speaks. From the idea that every believer is called to ministry, to the challenge of not shrinking back in fear of people, they reflect on how easy it is to keep faith private rather than shared. They talk honestly about the tension between believing in God and actually speaking about Him, the pressure we feel to fit in, and how often we underestimate the power of simple obedience in everyday life. Whether it’s in workplaces, friendships, or small moments of connection, they unpack how ministry isn’t a platform — it’s a lifestyle. The conversation also dives into the discipline of faith: showing up when it’s inconvenient, choosing obedience over comfort, and staying faithful in the “in-between” seasons where results aren’t immediate and clarity isn’t guaranteed. Ultimately, this episode is a reminder that the gospel spreads through people — ordinary believers willing to speak, live, and love boldly where they are. “How then can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?” — Romans 10:14See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Today on the Daily Nugget, Mike talks about prayer—specifically how we bring our emotions before God. We were created as emotional beings, and God invites us to come to Him exactly as we are, not cleaned up or filtered. The Psalms give us a powerful blueprint, showing us how to be honest with God in every season—joy, fear, anger, and sorrow. As we pray this way, something deeper happens: not only do we speak to God, but He begins to shape and change us from the inside out.

We talk about what Scripture actually says about anxious thoughts, why anxiety is not a sign of weak faith, and how God meets us with His peace in the middle of uncertainty.Together, we explore how anxiety often reveals where we are carrying burdens we were never meant to hold—and how God gently invites us to release them back into His hands. If you have been feeling overwhelmed, restless, or mentally exhausted, this conversation is for you.Help keep our Bible study resources free by supporting as a Heartkeeper here: heartdive.org/giveJoin us in our daily Bible study!PHASE 1: heartdive.org/startHEART DIVE LOBBY (Facebook Community): https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1BK2GvLZbo/?mibextid=wwXIfrVISIT OUR SHOP: heartdiveshop.comFREE RESOURCES: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/mobile/folders/1Tvms_gB-OWMum61DiCXvFV8R8jKXpIVIMy Bible Notes: https://heartdive.org/daily-notes-with-kanoe/Amazon Link: https://www.amazon.com/shop/kanoegibson/list/1ED3COSB79TAQ?ref_=aipsflistLOGOS Software affiliate link: http://www.logos.com/heartdiveFree Reading Plan and Daily Newsletter sign up: http://heartdive.org/newsletterLink to recommended Bibles: https://heartdive.org/recommendations/
So much of what we know about heart health is based on male models. Classic heart attack symptoms describe the experiences of men, drugs were developed largely by men for men—even in research, mouse models were male. But in recent years, our understanding of women's cardiac health has expanded, and critically, we have learned that we cannot simply apply male models to female patients. As one of our guests says, "women are not small men." For American Heart Month, join us for a heart-to-heart with members of the SNMMI Cardiovascular Council as they discuss how nuclear cardiology is providing new insight into women's heart health. LinkedIn, Instagram, AI, algorithms, content chaos… 2025 was a lot. If you've felt whiplash trying to market your firm this year, you're not alone. In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on what 2025 really looked like for me as a marketer, mom, empty nester, and business owner living in Spain plus how I'm shifting into 2026 with more flow and less forcing. In this episode, I chat about: ✨ Why my word of the year was “reset” (and how that actually played out) ✨ The messy middle of empty nesting, business pivots, and solitude ✨ Stepping away from the agency model and back into solopreneur life ✨ Why social feels noisy, numbing, and weird and what's actually going on ✨ Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, Facebook: where I'm showing up in 2026 (and why) ✨ My new word for 2026, “flow,” and what it means for your marketing If you've been wondering how to show up next year without burning out, this one's for you. “ Everybody wants happiness, joyfulness, peaceful world. Our 21st century will not be easy century. Fear, anger, hatred. In our mind we created distinctions. Different nationality, different color, different religion. Strong concept of “we” and “they”. Brothers and sisters of this small planet, we are same human beings. Meanwhile, global warming is a serious problem. Destruction of this planet is actually destruction of yourself. Our common responsibility should be work together, to save our world. We all have this marvelous human brain. The problem is, when negative emotions develop, our whole mind is taken over. So, we must deal with emotions.I can change my mind. I can reduce anger, hatred. Nothing to do with religion. All religions carry the message of love, loving kindness, and tolerance. With different views, there is a possibility to synthesize new ideas. If majority of the world leaders become female, world become safer. I feel that. Compassion is the key factor. Non-violence, compassion and self-confidence, these are key factors for happy individual, happy community, peaceful world. This century should be century of compassion, century of peace. No more bloodshed. We should develop a big “we,” rather than “we” or “they.” With these wings, you can fly.” -DALAI LAMAFor decades, the Dalai Lama has been a global symbol of peace, compassion, and resilience, a spiritual leader living in exile from his home in Tibet. But how do you capture the essence of his wisdom—the kind that can truly change a life—in a way that feels intimate and personal? My guest today, documentary filmmaker Barbara Miller, has managed to do just that in her new film, Wisdom of Happiness. It's a beautiful film that feels less like a documentary and more like a private, heart-to-heart conversation, where he invites us into his thoughts and shares practical steps for finding inner peace in a chaotic world. She's dealt with anti-globalization, domestic violence, and the fight for female pleasure in her previous works. We'll talk about how she shifted from exposing systemic pain to focusing on radical hope and her collaboration with Executive Producer Richard Gere and Manuel Bauer, the Dalai Lama's personal photographer for the last thirty-five years, who made his cinematography debut with this film. She shares what the Dalai Lama taught her about living in harmony with our body, nature, and the world.Episode Website www.creativeprocess.info/podInstagram:@creativeprocesspodcast
