Grace is the power to be what you don't have the power to be and the the power to do what you don't have the power to do. We think grace is simply a "I do what I want" card, but it's really an empowerment to follow Jesus and obey God. Grace is something given to us because of what Christ did because we couldn't do it by ourselves. Grace isn't just something we receive, it's something we walk out in our lives-- it's a power to make the right decisions and to live holy.
Grace that is not of God is not grace! If you are trying from only your efforts to achieve something, then it's not grace. Pastor Terry talks about a grace to show, a grace to know, and a grace to flow. We have been given such empowerment from Jesus to do good things and to do big things! There are things that are just too big for us, but when God gives us the grace to do something, He means it!
Chef to the Shelters, Meet Mike McCoyMike McCoy is a self-proclaimed “Chef to the Shelters” who uses his time, talents and resources to make beautifully tasteful meals for a growing number of Homeless Shelters and Sober Living Homes once a month, including Dallas 24 Hour Club, Simply Grace, Agape Resource and Assistance Center, and weekly meals at Magdalen House, all of which have missions that Mike personally relates. Mike has not always lived such a humble life. With a background in sales and sports, Mike has led a life that most would view as successful. He has been able to attend events, fly private on planes, and mingle with important people, but he didn't experience joy or purpose through any of it.

"Paul started every letter the same way. Grace and peace to you... Paul had learned that the peace of God - the common greeting Shalom - was only available when you experienced the grace of God. The grace of God ushers the peace of God into your lives. * Jeremiah 7:23 "children of Israel". Were the people of Israel considered God's children before Jesus, or were the scriptures pointing forward to the future? * Do we receive the promises of the New Covenant by faith? * Thanks for Simple Gospel, Simply Grace. * Sharon says, "I finally got it. I'm experiencing the love of God like never before." * "For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart." Hebrews 4:12 * UNITED: https://basicgospel.net/united/
"Jude has some great encouragement for us as to how we can live as Children of God. "But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, 'In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.'" Jude 1:17 * Don struggles with regrets and forgiveness. Are his memories reminded God of what he has done? * I've never read the Bible and have never been to church. I've considered myself to be an atheist most of my life. Recently I've become interested in learning about Christianity but know almost nothing about it. Would reading your book Simple Gospel, Simply Grace or the Bible be a good starting point? * My question is about how the gospel is being preached. ... Everything seems to be man's version and not God's version of what is said in the Scriptures.

"Grace is not only the grace that saves; it's the grace that sustains. We wrap up this study with encouragement to fully embrace the New Covenant in your life. This New Covenant is marked by a new command, "Dear friends, let us love one another for love comes from God." If you are loving others, that is confirmation that you belong to Him, for love comes from God. Truly, the Christian life begins with grace, is sustained by grace, and ends with grace. It is grace, glorious grace!

"The purpose for the grace of God is so that we can know God and to connect us to the love of God. The work of Jesus Christ makes us spiritually alive and empowers us to live in this world of darkness as lights shining brightly.

"Throughout the New Testament we see statements about eternal life. This is the goal and the prize. This is what God wants for us. There is a definition of eternal life in John 17:3 - "And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." As we get to know God, we experience His gift of eternal life. So how does this work itself out? 1 John 2:12,14

"God promised to give the Holy Spirit to anyone who received Jesus Christ. The day that you trusted Jesus something supernatural happened. You crossed over from death to life and the Spirit of God came to indwell you. What a wonderful gift you have from the Father. * Why don't we celebrate Passover on Friday and Saturday instead of Sunday? * Can we really forgive as Jesus forgave? How would you explain that? - A question from Simple Gospel, Simply Grace -- https://simplegospelsimplygrace.com * Was the "Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil" a test of obedience? It seems it was done to tempt Adam, but I was taught temptation comes from the devil. * Is it OK to worship God from home instead of going to a church?
"Christianity is a relationship. It is different from any religion. Eternal life IS about a relationship with God the Father. The defining passage as far as eternal life is concerned is John 17:3, "Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." All paths throughout the Word of God lead to this truth. We have the incredible gift of knowing God and being in relationship with him.

"The movie, We Are Marshall, is deeply moving and inspirational. After the entire Marshall football program was wiped out in a plane crash, the entire town wondered if Marshall could ever field a football team. The rallying cry of the town became "We are Marshall!". I use this story to encourage you to fully embrace the New Covenant. It's time to embrace God's perfect plan and will for you. It's time to say "I am a New Covenant believer."

"God has a goal of perfection for us - we cannot achieve that on our own. We have to rely on the perfect will of God through the finished work of Jesus Christ. The gift of God's grace to us is the New Covenant. Because of the New Covenant we have the gift of a new heart, we are a member of God's family, we can know God, and we receive the miraculous forgiveness of sins.

"What is God's will for your life? That can be a perplexing and frustrating question for many. Most of us think of God's will in terms of a plan for our life... who to marry, where to work, etc. It take a shift in focus to really understand the will of God. Instead of thinking of God's will in terms of a plan, let's focus on thinking of God's will as a legal will that he has ratified through the death of Jesus Christ.

"As Christians, we've been forgiven, made righteous, holy, alive together with Christ, and God has sent his spirit to take up residence in us. That is what it means to live in the newness of life. Our new life is lived by grace through faith. This is in conflict with the world we live; a world which is often chaotic, selfish, and anti-Christianity.

"S. M. Lockridge preached a powerful evangelical sermon years ago. The tagline is "It's Friday, but Sunday's coming". For Christians, Friday represents the death of Christ on the cross and his burial But, thanks be to God, Sunday is coming! Jesus Christ is raised from the dead. For those of us who have to come to Christ, it is always Sunday ... just was he was raised from the dead, we too have been raised to newness of life. We live in a "Friday" world, but, as Christians, our reality is in Sunday...new life in Christ Jesus.

"The New Covenant is guaranteed to us by a better promise and an oath made by God. We read about this in Hebrews 6:13-20 "For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself, saying, 'Surely I will bless you and multiply you.' And thus Abraham, having patiently waited, obtained the promise. ..." * How are the laws written on our hearts in Hebrews 8:10? * Mark follows up with a question about Titus 3:5 "he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit". * Hanna argues that we should practice all the Old Covenant laws. * Simple Gospel, Simply Grace https://simplegospelsimplygrace.com
"Bob continues with his study through his book Simple Gospel, Simply Grace. This is A Tale of Two Kingdoms from chapter 12.
"The life God has for us is one of freedom and He has equipped us to experience that freedom in full. Often when we leave a place of bondage, it is hard to accept freedom and we easily fall back into bondage. When we move from self-effort to dependent on the Spirit, we see that our life of freedom is Spirit-led, from start to finish.

""I like the word 'new', and I bet you do too." We like the word "new". But when it comes to the weightier things of life we're hesitant to move. We saw that with the Exodus story. There was fear of the new. And this is true of many of us. But what the Gospel encourages us to do is to fully embrace the promises of the NEW.

"Today we look at the Exodus. It's really a shadow of what Christ has done for us through his death, burial, and resurrection. Your hope of living life to the full is anchored to Christ's power and presence in you. You have the power of God living in you. You have the presence of God living in you. This is your hope of Glory. * Audio issues

"Freedom is what we get when we couple forgiveness and life. Our sins have been forgiven and we've been made alive together with Christ and he has given his life to us. That's the gift we have been given. God's goal for us is freedom and that story is really foreshadowed for us in the story of the nation of Israel.
"You are free. Forgiveness plus life equals freedom. Real freedom. Genuine freedom of the soul and spirit. The question is are you adequately prepared to handle freedom? Religion says no. Religion says we need guardrails and restraints against sin. But the power of the gospel equips us to live abundantly in this freedom in Christ. * Simple Gospel, Simply Grace https://simplegospelsimplygrace.com
