Photo Credit NYCFC.com[/caption] Welcome to Episode 124 of the NYCFC Nation Podcast: This week has New York City FC playing two matches in one week so Chris M and I record on our "off" day because our Nation fans deserve it! We recap NYC's recent match on Sunday against FC Dallas which ended 1-1. After we break down both goals we also bring up a couple of key talking points such as the performance of NYCFC's Cult favorite Thomas McNamara. Did McNamara play well enough to deserve a second start or is he starting merely because of lack of options? What about Maxime Chanot's amazing performance that granted him the Nation Man of the Match and how he continues to impress on the field? Alexander Callens and his recent inconsistent form when handling the ball. What's also amazing is that Chris M somehow is able to bring up the movie The Mighty Ducks in relation of NYC's offense. We wrap up talking about NYC's next match against Real Salt Lake and how this match has all the details of a trap match. We agree that we'll see Andrea Pirlo start against RSL but will we see Patrick Vieira go with a different formation to allow more players to play and let others rest up? Welcome to the first episode in 2017 of The NYCFC Nation Podcast! The usual crew is in house today along with special guest Nick Roloson. NYCFC109 Show link: http://thenycfcnation.com/2017/01/the-good-the-bad-and-the-eh/ After our initial discussion on what was the worst thing we've done to watch a soccer match we dig right into the announcement that RJ Allen and Thomas McNamara were given new contracts. NYCFC also loaned out Jefferson Mena over to Ecuadorian club Barcelona FC and have recently loaned in Miguel Camargo. Conner Brandt was also seen with fellow NYC players in social media and we speculate on what that could mean. How freaked out are we really that New York City FC hasn't spent money on improving the roster compared to the rest of the MLS League? We then move into the recent MLS Combine and some players that could be targeted by New York City FC. Is it at all possible that NYC trades up for a first round draft pick? Towards the end we play a game called The Good, The Bad and The Eh in regards to City Football Group's international scouting system for NYCFC. We finally wrap up talking about NASL, USL and the Fifa World Cup. Don't forget to give us a 5 star rating and review to help other New York City FC fans find the podcast. A Filibuster on a Friday? With so much midweek action, we just had to move the podcast so that we could talk about it (and talk we do). After urging to support Adam shaving off his luscious locks and and bet about college basketball, we get into D.C. United and the Concacaf Champions League. We talk about our feelings about the result, the central midfield pairing of Nick DeLeon and Marcelo Sarvas, and how the team can recover. We also get into Steve Birnbaum and his offensive prowess, Luciano Acosta's competitive debut, and some of the newcomers in the aforementioned Sarvas as well as Patrick Nyarko. We then welcome on MLSsoccer.com's Armchair Analyst, Matthew Doyle, to preview the rest of the league. We talk about the teams that have had the worst and best offseasons, look at the state of three of the league's top teams: LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls, and FC Dallas. We ask if Orlando City is actually better now that they've added Antonio Nocerino and if the New England Revolution are better without Jermaine Jones. We end by asking Matthew to give some MLS superlatives before getting in a question about Thomas McNamara. Give it a listen!
It is the 150th episode of Filibuster, so to celebrate that fact we bring you a completely regular show! Adam, Jason, and Ben are joined by Donald, who regales us with the view from the stands of D.C. United versus Montego Bay United FC in the Concacaf Champions League. We talk about the game, the subs that Ben Olsen sent, and whether Travis Worra was close to coming on as a field player in that game. We then have to talk about the sadness that was the 2-0 loss to the Montreal Impact. We talk Markus Halsti, Steve Birnbaum, and Didier Drogba, first. We then move to a more general discussion, talking about D.C. United and the playoffs, can they turn it around in time to actually do something in said playoffs, and whether or not they need a wholesale lineup change at this point. Finally, we talk about D.C. United's Friday game against NYCFC. We talk about New York's midfield of Frank Lampard and Andrea Pirlo, Thomas McNamara, and what D.C. United needs to do to get a point. Give it a listen!

It is Tuesday and so that means that Filibuster is back once again, to hopefully help your Thanksgiving commutes. We start by talking about the MLS Playoffs and that means talking about New England Revolution vs. New York Red Bulls. We talk about the refereeing, offside calls, Bradley Wright-Phillips' yellow card, and whether or not this Revs would have a chance against either team from the West. Speaking of the West, we then move to talk about LA Galaxy vs. Seattle Sounders. We talk about whether or not we would want Marcelo Sarvas for D.C. United, the gameplay between the first and second matches, and Kevin Stott's comments. Finally, we open the Twitterbox and talk about Thomas McNamara, briefly mention that there will be lots of stadium news today, go through the Cake or death posts so far on the site (and turn them into goat or fox), talk about fullbacks, and end with our Thanksgiving food and beverage pairing for hatewatching the rest of the playoffs. Give it a listen!
It is Tuesday, so that means it must be Filibuster day! Adam, Jason, and Ben are all back in your ears to talk about D.C. United and the upcoming expansion draft. We go through some of the key players on D.C. United's roster and give our opinions on whether or not the team should use a protected slot on them. We then welcome Alicia Rodriguez of The Goat Parade to the show to talk about the Chivas USA dispersal draft. We talk about a number of players that D.C. United could possibly get in the draft, such as Marky Delgado, Thomas McNamara, Andrew Jean-Baptiste, Oswaldo Minda, Danny Toia, and Marvin Chavez. We even talk about Dan Kennedy, even though there is no chance he comes to D.C. United. Finally, we go around MLS and look at the upcoming playoff games this weekend, even though Ben can only predict series results and not individual games. Give it a listen!
