In this episode, we explore the common yet often overlooked challenge women face: losing themselves in the pursuit of love and belonging. We'll delve into the subtle ways societal expectations and personal choices can lead to a diminished sense of self. This is not to say that we should not pursue having a family and children: quite the contrary - they are fundamental; however, in many cultures, particularly macho cultures, the woman is expected to submit to the man and totally forget about her free time, interests and passions. She will even feel guilty for taking a day off or not being busy serving others 24/7…sounds familiar?   Our guest, best selling author Alicia Rodriguez, shares her personal journey of self-discovery and the steps she took to reclaim her power and purpose. Her new book, ‘The shaman's wife' has a message: love is boundless, but it must begin with nurturing oneself. You will hear her story of how she married a powerful Shaman and then realized that she had surrendered her power and agency to him, eventually moving on to reclaim her true purpose and identity. Alicia wants to help those who are in a similar situation. Together, we'll uncover the signs of losing your identity, discuss the impact on your relationships, and provide actionable strategies to prioritize self-care without feeling guilty. Whether you're a stay-at-home mom, a career woman, or somewhere in between, this episode offers invaluable insights and inspiration to help you create a life that fulfills both your personal and family-related aspirations.   Tune in to discover: How to identify if you've lost touch with your true self Practical tips for setting boundaries and saying no The importance of self-care in creating a fulfilling life Strategies for balancing your personal and familial roles   Even the commandments contained in the Bible, for those who believe in them, ask to ‘love your neighbour as you love yourself' - so self love comes first and it comes with respect and nourishing our own interests too. Let's redefine what it means to be a strong, confident woman who prioritizes both love and self.   When a woman is happy and able to follow her own interests (depending on which seasons of life she is experiencing) everything will be smoother at home.   #podcast #womenempowerment #selfcare  #mentalhealth #personalgrowth   #relationships #worklifebalance #womensupportwomen   #femaleempowerment #motherhood #identitycrisis   #newepisode   #podcastrecommendation   Video link https://youtu.be/nioDaiZvVVI   Follow Alicia Rodriguez here: https://aliciamrodriguez.substack.com/ Accolades on her book: https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/The-Shamans-Wife/Alicia-M-Rodriguez/9781647427566 https://aliciamrodriguez.com/the-shamans-wife   If you feel stuck and lacking purpose and direction, you can work with me!

We start this episode of The Mane Land PawedCast by addressing the cries of the impatient, the malcontents, and the anarchists. Those folks want Orlando City to dismiss the club's most successful coach after just eight league matches. We remind folks that Orlando City had the Champions League, a few bumps and bruises, and multiple new pieces to fit together and the season is only eight games old. There will be plenty of time to panic later, so there's no need to rush it. We're joined by Alicia Rodriguez who has spent the last few years writing for LAG Confidential — a former SBNation blog that is going to launch an independent site in the near future — and the author of the Soccermusings Substack newsletter. Alicia helps us break down what we can expect from the LA Galaxy this Saturday night when they visit Exploria Stadium to play Orlando City. We also had our second mailbagbox of the week, following the questions we answered in Episode 338. This time out, the listeners asked us to play general manager, to decide whether Arsenal is a "super club," whether Tata Martino would be a good fit at Orlando City if Oscar Pareja left, and more. Remember, if there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the show, just ask us anything by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. Finally, we previewed Orlando City vs. the LA Galaxy including our key matchups and score predictions for Saturday's match. Stay safe and enjoy the show! Here's how No. 339 went down: 0:15 – We can panic later. There's no reason to do so now. 16:39 – Alicia Rodriguez enlightens us about all things LA Galaxy. 35:35 – Our mailbagbox and our key matchups and score predictions for Orlando City vs. the LA Galaxy. Find out more at https://www.unapologeticretreats.com/ This week I'm joined by one of my Unapologetic Retreats co-hosts, Alicia M Rodriguez to talk about cultivating an unapologetic mindset when it comes to building the life and business you truly want. Alicia is a writer, storyteller, and catalyst for personal growth. She's the author of two books and will publish her memoir, The Shaman's Wife, in 2024. She's an utterly transformational mindset coach who walks the walk. Alicia has intentionally curated every aspect of her own life and business and is done with apologizing for 'wanting what I want, the way I want it'. In the episode, we talk in-depth about how she helps women find the courage to see the unknown as a place of opportunity rather than fear. Real success comes when you unapologetically embrace radical authenticity and cultivate the courage to do things your way. Orlando City and the Orlando Pride were off this past week but both the U.S. men and women were in action, which meant Orlando players Daryl Dike and Alex Morgan were on the pitch. And, both scored! We talk a little about Dike's performance in the U.S. Men's National Team's friendly against Costa Rica and the USWNT's Summer Series so far. That last game was a mixed bag for Pride players, as Konya Plummer conceded a penalty but Morgan got back on the score sheet. Plus, we talk a little about Orlando City's newest Homegrown Player signing, Thomas Williams. He's an intriguing defensive prospect at 6-foot-4 and just 16 years old. Alicia Rodriguez, who writes for Center Line Soccer (among several other sites), joined us to preview the upcoming match next Tuesday against the San Jose Earthquakes. We figured the Lions just played Toronto a couple of games ago, so the Reds are still fresh in our minds and the biggest changes are that Jozy Altidore is in the doghouse and Yeferson Soteldo (whose name I can't quite master) is on international duty. This week's mailbag was a little light but it probably would have been meatier had Dave Rohe or I been able to catch more of the Euro or Copa America. Then we jumped into our key match-ups and score predictions for both the “road” game against Toronto and next week's home match vs. San Jose. What a way to head into the first tricky portion of the schedule. The Sounders improved to 5-0-1 on the young season by beating previously unbeaten Toronto FC 3-2 at CenturyLink Field on Saturday. It was easily the Sounders biggest test of the season and I'd say they passed with flying colors, especially when you consider they were missing Raul Ruidiaz. This sets up a pretty enticing matchup with LAFC on the weekend, who may well be unbeaten as well depending on tonight's result. If they are, this will be the latest in a season since 2010 -- and the second latest all time -- that two unbeaten teams have squared off in MLS. To help us preview that game, we'll be talking to Alicia Rodriguez of Angels on Parade later in the show. After the triumph in the US Open Cup Final against the Union, things have gone a bit sour for the Seattle Sounders with two straight league losses against the New York Red Bulls and FC Dallas. Jeremiah, Aaron and Zach return to look back at the past week's results, try to figure out what's going on and generally be grumpy. Zach also shares his observations from the Dallas match, which he was in attendance for, spending a lot of time complaining about a lack of width. We're also joined by Alicia Rodriguez from The Goat Parade to preview this weekend's match against Chivas USA. There's also listener questions to be answered as well.
