Jack is not keen to help his grandmother do the chores. He'd much rather be exploring rock pools and playing his flute. He's not bothered by stories about the hungry giant who lurks nearby looking for tasty snacks. Jack might be brave, but is he wise? Listen to Kim telling this song story from the Caribbean to see if the giant gets his dinner.
Join Bryan and Charles with special guest Vona to talk about 2HG. Yesterday was the restart my AD&D game after a two year hiatus. 8 players/characters, 3 of them new players/characters. We got the three new characters into the party and they investigated stories of a two headed giant and found one. They had a plan, but one spell choice changed that plan. But they managed to snag victory from the jaws of defeat. Hello and welcome to the Homebrew Magic podcast! We're back after a brief hiatus due to scheduling conflicts and Packers games (but we won't talk about that here, still not over losing to the Bears). We're back this week with the discussion on formats that it seems like we've been teasing forever! One of the coolest aspects of Magic: The Gathering is that the game can be, and is, played under a variety of formats, including, but not limited to, Standard, EDH, Brawl, Modern, Legacy, Vintage, Pauper, Draft, Sealed, Rainbow Stairwell, Two-Headed Giant, and Archenemy. We'll take a deeper dive into the most popular formats in future episodes, but join us this week as we take a brief at just what each format entails, along with our favorite and not-so-favorite formats. As always, please be sure to rate, review, and subscribe, and find us on or social channels on Facebook and Instagram with the handle @homebrewmagic. Or, if you feel so inclined, shoot us a message to homebrewmagicmke@gmail.com.

Are you looking to mix it up a little with your commander play group? Try out two-headed giant for commander. Andy and Kyle talk about the challenges that they've confronted in mixing it up with commander. Kingdoms can lose its novelty and two-headed giant isn't as straight forward with commander as you'd think. Kyle and Andy outline some basic rules for building team decks to play two-headed giant with commander decks. Using the duel commander ban list and a version of the unified constructed rule—each team can only have one copy of any non-basic land between their two decks—they set out to get their two-headed giant showdown ready. They talk about the journey of building team decks and what they hope to see happen when they finally match up. Intro/outro beats this episode are by the Artist Home.
