Jack and Kaleb get together for perhaps their last "duo" show of the year, before the whole crew joins up for the first and second round of the NCAA Tournament, after Nebraska drops their first game of the Big Ten Tournament to Purdue in a game that never really was close. And this one wasn't hard to diagnose, as the two biggest problems for the Huskers were very obvious: turnovers and rebounding. Jack and Kaleb take a shot at diagnosing why those things have become such a problem, if either of them are fixable, or will be mitigated by different competition in the tournament. And folks, we cannot emphasize enough to you that Jack wanted no part of this show tonight, but as usual, he started to come around as the show went on, and in the end, he eked out a smile or two. After they talk through the loss, the guys discuss the potential seed/matchup/venue ramifications of it for the NCAA tournament and start to do some very initial analysis on who the 1st and possible 2nd round opponents might be for the Huskers, and give the listeners some comps to more familiar teams for context. Plus, the Ryan Anderson Memorial (he's not dead) Player of the Game, and, you know this, but Jack fighting with people in the comments. The Nebrasketball Hour is proudly sponsored by Nebraska Realty! Nebraska beats USC 82-67 and the guys, justifiably spend much of the show swooning about Sam Hoiberg after he solidified his status as difference-maker, changing the trajectory of the game in the second half after having spent much of the first in foul trouble. And ohhhh, baby, that second half! Was Jack vindicated after his claim that the Nebraska Offense needs to push pace to get back to their old selves? Are we ready to say Old Rienk is back? Was Chad Baker Mazara the most winded player you've ever seen in an athletic competition? All of the questions are answered.Plus, a second divided Ryan Anderson Memorial (he's not dead) MVP award, Jack goes off on "predictive metrics," and the immediate reaction to how this game and other results today change the seeding and NCAA location picture in ways that we didn't expect coming into the game. Finally, a preview of UCLA and the guys' late nights night watch party coming up on the I-80 Club YouTube channel Tuesday night!Support the I-80 Club Road Show by buying a hoodie here. In this week's Northwest Florida Fishing Report, host Joe Baya leans on two timely conversations to make sense of a windy, weather-scrambled week: offshore wahoo intel from Hilton's Real-Time Navigator and a Pensacola-area inshore kayak pattern that's producing reds and trout during warm windows. Joe starts with Butch Thierry and Tom Hilton to talk "good wahoo water" for boats running out of Pensacola, Destin, and Panama City. Tom explains dialing in a wahoo temp range in the upper 60s into the 70s to make clean edges pop, then stacking the odds with water color, current, structure, and bait. They key in on Destin FADs and the Oriskany area, why even small temp breaks can matter when they're tight and defined, and how current hitting contour can create the kind of feeding zone you want to fish. To wrap, Joe checks in with Brandon Barton of Emerald Waters Kayak Charters on a fun inshore bite: redfish and trout eating topwater well beyond first light when conditions warm up. Brandon breaks down his go-to spook-style baits, when he upsizes for ripple, and how he works saltwater chatterbaits through submerged grass in dirtier river water to trigger winter reds. He also shares how drone scouting is changing his view of where trophy-class trout and mixed schools are staging in shallow ICW water during midday warming periods, plus a quick look ahead to March kayak offshore opportunities for blackfin tuna and early-season reef fishing. Nebraska had the home fans nervous through 75% of the game against Maryland, and then their early-season offense showed up, as Rienk Mast reverted to something much closer to his early season form and the Huskers end up winning comfortable again as a big favorite. Jack and Kaleb convene after the game to try and not use hindsight in describing just now nervous they were, and take a look at what seemed to holding the Huskers' offense back during the first half (besides just missing shots). On the other hand, Jack explains why his takeaway from the game won't be the first 75% of the game, but instead, the last ten minutes where the Nebraska offense came alive, and the surprise player he thinks was the key to the suddenly alive offense. The guys disagree on the Ryan Anderson Memorial (he's not dead) Player of the Game and break down the horse race Nebraska will have with Purdue and Illinois, not only for conference tourney placement, but in sorting out #7-11 in the current committee rankings. And finally, before Nebraska takes on USC, the guys talk about a weirdly exciting Thursday and Friday night of Big Ten basketball coming up in the 48 hours after the show, and an up-to-the minute look at the current Big Ten Conference Tournament bracket!Support the I-80 Club Road Show by buying a hoodie here. What a change of pace for the Nebrasketball Hour crew, as Jack traded in despair tinged with rage lingering from the Iowa loss for a “wildly pleasant afternoon” as Nebraska cruised past Penn State 87-64.First, the latest on the injury to J-Law and Berke's situation. Then, with Pryce Sandfort tying the school's single game three-point shooting record and going for 33, the guys ask, "is he back" or more accurately "was he ever gone?" Perhaps the former question is better applied to Braden Frager, and Kaleb and Jack both lay out what they saw tonight that indicate perhaps he's gotten over some of the lingering effects of his ankle injury.Plus, some more important questions:At what point in the second half did Penn State have it up to here with Same Hoiberg "trying" so much?Did we just figure out exactly the way Jared Garcia should be used? Why Rienk Mast still just seems... different? What about the Committee's top 16 was annoying Jack today. Why the risk of Nebraska being "caught from behind" in the tourney pecking order may be less than you think. Finally, your chance to join the Road Crew to support the guys' NCAA Road Show, wherever the Huskers are sent for Round 1, AND get some exclusive gear to wear proudly around town. Nebraska lost to Iowa in what Jack calls one of the worst basketball games he has ever seen. The guys try to determine exactly why the Nebraska offense was fully impotent for much of the night, even when it looked like they found something that worked. The guys explain the brutal truth they learned about this Iowa team and why that makes the loss even harder to swallow. They also take a look at February Rienk Mast vs. November Rienk Mast. Finally, a discussion on what the loss means in terms of seeding and standings, and the thing so many people seem to be forgetting when they estimate Nebraska's likely seed placement. The Nebrasketball Hour is proudly sponsored by Nebraska Realty! ***Originally aired on Place to Be Network in March 2022*** On episode 37 of NWA Crock and Roll, the full crew is here to begin a detailed journey of a very busy NWA April 1986. In Part 1 of April 1986, topics include a Ron Garvin vs Arn Anderson rematch for the TV title that leads to another potential title feud, Jimmy Garvin accusing Wahoo of being ill, Cornette Crockett Cup selling and wrap up with two Crockett Cup Spotlight matches looking at Wahoo & Mark Youngblood as they battle NWA Tag Champions, Bob Orton & Don Kernodle from 1984 and The Fantastics as they battle The Sheepherders for the UWF Tag Titles.
The Huskers do it again! A weird, kind of bad half, and then they run away with it, beating Northwestern 68-49. But before the good, the guys dissect the unusual turnover-fest, where the Huskers through basically the same amount of interceptions in one 10-minute stretch of basketball as Aaron Rodgers did the entire 2025 NFL season. And while Rienk Mast seemed completely recovered from his illness a week ago against Rutgers, he had a hard time of it today. The guys try to identify how much of that had to do with a minor pregame injury and evaluate their level of concern. But, like beautiful Spring morning, the sun rose in the second half as Nebraska held Northwestern to 15 points over the last 17ish minutes of the game. Kaleb identifies the key adjustments Nebraska made to turn the tide and how Sam's defense turned into Pryce points (was that a "quiet" 29?). And meanwhile… was this Cale Jacobsen's best ever game at Nebraska? Are we victims of recency bias? It's a Split Vote on the Ryan Anderson Memorial (he's not dead) MVP award; you tell us if Jack or Kaleb was right! Finally, another wet spot on the floor, the lights randomly going out, more stories from Kaleb at PBA, an oddly favorable Big Ten Tourney situation that may be developing, and a look ahead to a late night roadie to Iowa on Tuesday. The Nebrasketball Hour is proudly sponsored by Nebraska Realty! The couple told CBS News they delivered their "absolute best performance" and thought they would have won gold as controversy swirls around one judge's scoring. Leena Panwala and Tim Drury share their stories with "CBS Mornings" about how they're raising awareness and money for INAD, a rare genetic disorder. Panwala created the INAD Cure foundation after her daughter was diagnosed. The disorder affects about one in 1 million children. In 1969, a 17-year-old was found dead with 14 stab wounds in a field in Wahoo, Nebraska. Authorities couldn't work out why she'd been targeted and the case went cold for more than 50 years. Natalie Morales reports on how authorities eventually made an arrest. Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show has led to a huge spike in interest in his music and Puerto Rican culture. Dorian González Vega, the beverage director at Union Square Cafe in New York City, joins "CBS Mornings" to make some signature drink recipes. "Sinners" cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw says she doesn't want the audience to notice her work because "you wanna make it so good it feels like a dream." The Oscar nominee is the first woman of color nominated in the cinematography category and only the fourth woman ever. It's the only Oscars category never won by a woman. Nebraska gets back on the winning track against Rutgers and the guys start the show by trying to figure out why the game was a 12-point win that felt like a 30-point win. But, more importantly, Rienk Mast came back in a big way, and Jack and Kaleb assessed what it was, beyond not vomiting constantly, that made February Rienk look like November/December Rienk. Beyond that, a deep dive into how Rutgers had perhaps the best ever performance in history of making bad-idea shots by a team that lost by double digits, how Sam Hoiberg tried to equal the level of effort by the entirety of the Scarlet Knights, Pryce and Frager getting to take a break from carrying the offensive load, and Cale Jacobsen's continued evolution. Plus, the Ryan Anderson Memorial (he's not dead) Player of the game is a spit decision, a live reaction to the end of Oregon/Purdue, and setting the scene for what is going to be yet again a wild night Tuesday at PBA when the Boliermakers come to town; it's a game where Nebraska has an opportunity to gain back anything that was lost with its tough last week. The Nebrasketball Hour is proudly sponsored by Nebraska Realty! Well, we all probably figured this moment was coming, but for the fist time, Jack comes into a show in a bad mood (the Michigan game was marginal). But the guys talk it out and identify the reasons Nebraska just didn't look quite like themselves today, not the least of which was the quality of their opponent (who once lost to Nebraska). Whether you attributed to Rienk's post stomach bug offensive lull, the lack of a Pryce second half show, the defense becoming vulnerable to the lob dunk, or Wagler putting on a second half scoring show, every angle is evaluated. After the damage is assessed, the guys arrive at a comforting reality about this loss, given its full context, and what it does and doesn't mean about the future. Plus, a dive into the box score including a surprising comparison between the L against Illinois in Lincoln and the W vs Illinois in Champaign. They introduce the new Ryan Anderson Memorial (he's not dead) MVP award homage segment in honor of the old school Nebrasketball Pod (shout out new sponsor the Nebraska Half [Marathon]). Then, a run through what is going to be a very fun February in the Big Ten, including some tests for the teams at the top of the league you might not have realized were still to come. The guys then make their latest guess at Nebraka's NCAA seed (wait for the plot twist on this), and then make a very special announcement about the I-80 Club's plans for the postseason you won't want to miss! The Nebrasketball Hour is proudly sponsored by Nebraska Realty! Welp, for a loss, that was a blast. For the first time this year, Jack and Kaleb convene on the Nebraketball Hour after a loss and try to sort out what in the world they make of a severely shorthanded Nebraska team going on the road against the odds-on favorite to win the national championship and leading nearly wire-to-wire only to run out of gas in the final minutes. As Jack works through his immediate reaction he lands on a multiple choice question about the rest of the season that is either REALLY bad for Michigan or REALLY good for Nebraska. The guys go through the box score and marvel at Nebraska ending up with very pedestrian three point and FG% numbers, they try and describe their pleasant shock and Leo Curtis scoring on some of the best big men in the league, and Cale Jacobsen at times terrorizing the Michigan offense while making huge clutch shots. And then, despite the valiant performance, the small things that went wrong, any one of which could have changed the outcome of the game and led to mass hysteria in the state, from Berke missing a few bunnies to Jamarques not being able to find points in the second half, to a game of questionable calls on both sides that went against Nebraska in crunch time. Finally, a look at what's ahead, and the bizarre feeling that a lot of Husker fans have coming out of this game more confident about this team than they did coming in at 20-0, a preview of the game against Illinois, a check in on the other things happening in the Big Ten, and a deep dive into the outcomes required to be a top 2 seed in March.Pinch yourselves, Husker fans. Tonight wasn't the end, it was the beginning of the next level. The Nebrasketball Hour is proudly sponsored by Nebraska Realty!
