This week we're down in the Cure Cave to do some trim work on the Amnesia Lemon Hashplant harvest! This plant dried a bit quicker than the Tropaya BX #6, and on day 14, it is ready to go into the cure jars! This round we're using Ball 16oz wide mouth jars to do the curing, slightly different than the previous round! This harvest was interesting to achieve and I am excited to see how the resin cures up. As of right now it has a lemon, cedar, fresh trading card, and chemical fume nose! Thank you all for joining along for this plant's journey! Mayoral candidate and State Senator Jessica Ramos joined FAQ NYC in March to lament that ”there is, I think, a little bit of amnesia happening. I do think the press could do a better job of highlighting the myriad of ways in which Andrew Cuomo has created the mess that he now claims he is somehow going to fix. But I can't forget, right?" Now, Ramos is endorsing Cuomo, and hosts Christina Greer, Katie Honan and Harry Siegel discuss her surprise turn and much more ahead of Thursday's Democratic mayoral debate, where Katie will be one of the moderators.
The time has come to chop down the two phenos of the Amnesia Lemon Hashplant by Superfluous Seeds! This plant is not for beginners and I learned a few things while I was growing it! One of the main things is height management and light intensity! The next rounds should be more dialed in! In 1996, the world of video gaming was forever changed by the release of Capcom's “survival horror” masterwork “Resident Evil” on the Sony PlayStation. In fact, the term “survival horror”, now a common-place name for a subgenre of horror gaming, was originated by “Resident Evil”.Survival horror itself can be defined as a genre of video games with a focus on surviving in a threatening, often supernatural or disturbing environment, with an emphasis on a more vulnerable central character, tension, limited resources and combat as a last resort.Sound like a vast number of great horror games that have come since the original “Resident Evil”?Whether it's the steeped in atmospheric dread of the “Silent Hill” franchise, the cosmic Lovecraftian terror of the “Dead Space” games, the nerve-frying corridors of the “Amnesia” series or the Stephen King-esque small town horror of “Alan Wake” and its sequel, the influence of “Resident Evil” has played a pivotal role in forming horror gaming. In this episode I am joined by the stars of the most recent “Resident Evil” games. They have taken the three most iconic characters of the franchise and not only made them their own, but also brought real gravity and psychological complexity that has helped redefine the series and what we thought we could expect from it.Welcome Nicole Tompkins who plays Jill Valentine in the “Resident Evil 3” reimaging and the animated film “Resident Evil: Death Island” as well as Daniela Dimitrescu and Elena in “Resident Evil Village”, Jeff Schine who plays Carlos in the “Resident Evil 3” reimagining and Chris Redfield in “Resident Evil Village” and Nick Apostolides who plays Leon Kennedy in the reimagining's of “Resident Evil 2” and “Resident Evil 4” as well as the TV mini-series “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness”.We discuss their approaches to adapting these legacy characters, the indelible imprint of the franchise, how it's not as different from film acting as some may think, as well as their most requested line readings. Let's explore the dangers of Raccoon City and beyond, survive a world of endless zombies and undead Doberman's, expose shadowy secret evil organizations and visit a village of crazed occultist with Nicole Tompkins, Jeff Schine and Nick Apostolides! ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

In light of the recent legal troubles surrounding Sean "Diddy" Combs, a growing number of celebrities are actively distancing themselves from him and his infamous parties. The fallout stems from a series of disturbing allegations, including sex trafficking and violent misconduct at Diddy's so-called "Freak Off" parties, where many high-profile individuals were once regular attendees.Celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Megan Fox have been notably swift in creating distance, with DiCaprio's camp emphasizing that he hasn't been involved with Diddy for years, despite old photos resurfacing from parties they both attended. Megan Fox, meanwhile, deleted posts featuring Diddy across her social media platforms. Others, like Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber, who were previously seen at Diddy's high-profile gatherings, have remained silent but have quietly distanced themselves as well. Some stars, such as Damon Dash, have gone on record to clarify that they only attended one or two events many years ago, often framing their association as minimal.PR experts suggest that this silence is part of a calculated strategy, as discussing Diddy's legal issues publicly could lead to unwanted scrutiny. Celebrities are now avoiding the topic entirely, trying to remove themselves from the narrative to protect their personal and professional reputations as Diddy's legal battles continue to unfold.Meanwhile, the public outcry demanding answers from these people continues to grow. This posting was written and recorded while on a trip to northern India. It explores the inter-relations of culture and climate. The audio version is fun because of the soundscapes of Delhi in the background (car horns, bird song, sweeping of leaves, music, etc)It features excerpts from my comments to the Create Canada project which is important given its potential to deepen conversations about the role of culture as Canada faces existential threats from the regime of our southern neighbour.I did not agree with all their postings but I saw merit in their efforts. In parallel, I produced e214 roundtable – this moment in canadian culture, which Owais and SGS kindly joined.I hope Create Canada and this conscient roundtable are a couple of many such conversations and reflections from coast to coast to coast, in as many different languages and formats as possible. You'll hear me read excerpts frome194 owais lightwala and sgs - manifesting for nowe214 roundtable – this moment in canadian culture: e209 robert and peter janes – telling the truth through artMy conclusion is that this moment in culture in Canada and the climate emergency are one and the same. Both culture and climate are agents of change who need each other. It's only a question of time before they synergize to help us find Annette Hegel's ‘new ways'. *END NOTES FOR ALL EPISODESHey conscient listeners, I've been producing the conscient podcast as a learning and unlearning journey since May 2020 on un-ceded Anishinaabe Algonquin territory (Ottawa). From "Bloody Sunday" to Modern Activism: Civil Rights Leaders Reflect on LegacyThis show is made possible thanks our members! To become a sustaining member go to https://LauraFlanders.org/donate Thank you for your continued support!Description: 60 years ago in Selma, Alabama, state troopers beat peaceful protesters bloody on the Edmund Pettus Bridge as they marched for civil rights. The horror of “Bloody Sunday” and the resilience of the Civil Rights Movement ultimately led to the passage of the 1965 Voting Rights Act and many of the landmark achievements that are now directly under attack. As civil rights activists look to history to understand — and prepare for — the present, Laura walks the Bridge and talks with, among others, Sheyann Webb Christburg, who marched at the age of eight, Black Voters Matter co-founders LaTosha Brown and Clifford Albright; law professor and author Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw and Maya Wiley, President and CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights. What does people power look like today? Plus, a commentary from Laura on name calling then and now.“We're not going to phone bank our way out of this. We're not going to text our way out of this. And in truth, we're not even going to vote our way out of this . . . It's going to take revisiting some of the same strategies that we saw here in Selma, in terms of nonviolent civil disobedience and direct action.” - Clifford Albright“When we see and hear and think about fascism, we think about anti-democratic movements in Europe. We think about the Holocaust . . . But for Black people, as Langston Hughes said, you don't have to explain to us what fascism is. We experienced it. That is what we were fighting, for the 60, 70 years after Reconstruction was overthrown.” - Kimberlé CrenshawGuests:• Clifford Albright: Co-Founder & Executive Director, Black Voters Matter• Willard and Kiba Armstead: Veteran & Spouse• Trayvon Bossa: Sigma Chapter Member, Miles College Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity• LaTosha Brown: Co-Founder, Black Voters Matter• Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw: Co-Founder & Executive Director, African American Policy Forum; Host of the Intersectionality Matters! “When we see and hear and think about fascism, we think about anti-democratic movements in Europe. We think about the Holocaust . . . But for Black people, as Langston Hughes said, you don't have to explain to us what fascism is. We experienced it. That is what we were fighting, for the 60, 70 years after Reconstruction was overthrown.” - Kimberlé CrenshawThis show is made possible by you! In this episode of the CEU Review of Books podcast host, Andrea Talabér (Managing Editor) is joined by three members of the the ERC-funded project Revenant - Revivals of Empire: Nostalgia, Amnesia, Tribulation project: Jeremy F. Walton, the PI; Kevin Kenjar, a post-doctoral researcher and Matea Magdić, a PhD Researcher on the project. Revenant examines how in Central Europe, the Balkans, and in the Middle East bygone imperial projects are increasingly inseparable from contemporary political, social, and cultural life. In the podcast we discussed various aspects of imperial and post-imperial memory from a famous street corner in Sarajevo, to Croatian literature to a largely forgotten Arctic expedition, and also put the coloniality and post-coloniality of the three empires – Habsburg, Ottoman, Romanov – under the microscope. To find out more about the Revenant project visit the website. Jeremy (jeremy.walton@ffri.uniri.hr), Kevin (kevin.kenjar@ffri.uniri.hr) and Matea (matea.magdic@ffri.uniri.hr) are also happy to hear from anyone interested in the project and in their own research topics. If you are interested in the documentary based on the project, please email Jeremy for the link. As part of the project, the 2024 Postcolonial, Decolonial, Postimperial, Deimperial conference was held in Rijeka. You can watch the keynotes by Maria Todorova here and by Madina Tlostanova here. Could a church that boldly preaches the sovereignty of God still operate out of fear? Could someone who publicly proclaims God's faithfulness secretly struggle with daily anxiety about the future? In today's episode, we're continuing our sermon series from the archives, Living with Eternity in View. In this message, Paul teaches from Matthew 6 that when our hearts are set on earthly treasures, worry is inevitable—even though God has promised us an unshakably secure future. To hear more sermons from Paul, visit PaulTripp.com/Sermons.Please note: This sermon was recorded many years ago, and the audio quality is not ideal. In today's episode, we will begin another sermon series from the archives, Living With Eternity In View. In this first message, Paul teaches from Matthew 6 to show our obsession with earth-bound treasures and how quickly we forget the heavenly treasures of God.To hear more sermons from Paul, visit PaulTripp.com/Sermons.Please note: This sermon was recorded years ago, and the audio quality is poor in the first few minutes.
