In this episode, I chat with Gaea. At the tender age of 15, Gaea was forced to give up all that she loved when faced with an unexpected diagnosis of juvenille onset idiopathic rheumatoid arthritis. As a talented runner, Gaea found herself barely even being able to walk and carry out the most basic of daily tasks. But, this story didn't end there. Gaea was not going to let this diagnosis define her. She desired to become a mother and live a full life. This conversation dives deep into the intersection of autoimmunity, motherhood, and natural health innovations. Gaea's honest reflections on managing her condition whilst raising five children will resonate with mothers juggling invisible illnesses and the unspoken struggles of chronic health.Beyond the science, Gaea's insights on emotional resilience, the spiritual side of motherhood, adaptations to the model of 'normal family life' and how self-awareness can bring peace in chaos offer a compelling call to embrace wholeness in all aspects of life. This episode will bring resonance to all mothers, with particular resonance on or women facing autoimmunity, health warriors, and anyone curious about integrative approaches to wellness. This is part one of a two part episode. Please note: The information in this episode is not medical advice. For the next suite of improvisations, Mariam strums her exotic, atmospheric sitar, beginning with the dream-like “Maha Lakshmi”, a sweetly droning raga featuring Mariam's fine vocal and Bob's propulsive tabla work. Delicate, lyrical Native flute excursions and tabla polyrhythms lead languidly to today's closer, the gorgeous, powerful, spacious “Nature At Her Best” a sitar raga that grows into a progressive, dynamic piece of modern music with Bob's insistent, subtly shifting ostinatos and Mariam's beautifully choreographed vocal-and-Native-flute dialogs. Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #655 is an hour of inspired, dynamic, visionary acoustic improvised music and songs by Mariam Massaro played by Mariam on vocals, acoustic guitar, ukulele, Celtic harp, mandolin and Native flute and Bob Sherwood on piano. Recorded live on January 27th of 2026 at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts, today's show begins with a driving, energized version of Mariam's powerful ode to inner strength “You're The One” featuring a fine vocal, tight, chiming acoustic guitar and inspired piano. The beautiful, sprawling, compelling music tryptich “Pushing Back/Holding The Line/Shining Brightly” is a powerful, inspiring and emotional summation of the events of our time, a musical diary of a trying era Mariam speaks a narrative of love, resistance and universal equality but always at the center of her message is the concept of unity, of oneness. Gorgeous, imaginative, detailed piano from Bob locks in with Mariam every step of the way on this extended piece, along with soaring, lyrical Native flute, an astonishing vocal performance from Mariam as well as tight, percussive ukulele. “Just Walk Away” is a fine song of Mariam's and she and Bob present it here as a country rock ballad, languid and considered, and “Arise”, a pretty folk air from Mariam's “Release” LP is lifted with Mariam's tight, evocative mandolin and sweet, soaring vocal as well as Bob's dancing piano motifs. “Twin Flame” from Mariam's “Gaea Star Goddesses” LP receives a committed, intense performance with a dramatic vocal and lilting acoustic guitar and “Pot Of Gold” is a gorgeous evocation formed around a deliciously mournful piano motif that Mariam kneads and shapes with her sinuous vocal and questing, soaring Native flute. Today's show completes with the grooving “Lead Us Down” an adventurous re-casting of Mariam's island rocker “Lead Me Down” featuring tight playing and an assured, bluesy vocal from Mariam. Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #650 is an hour of dynamic, inspired, visionary acoustic improvised music played by The Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, Native flute, Celtic harp, double flute, acoustic guitar, mandolin and 4- and 8-string ukulele, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on Native drum and congas. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in mid-December of 2025, today's show begins with the meditative, impressionistic “Living In The Bliss”, a tone poem with soaring Native flute and fundamental, earthy accompaniment before we move into the upbeat, joyful, spacious “Rising”, a fine folk air with a gorgeous vocal from Mariam above an effervescent accompaniment of galloping congas, chiming ukulele and rich, burnished piano chords that unhurriedly explores and inspires. “To The Crystalline Temples Of Light” is a deeply emotional, mystical air driven along by Mariam's chiming, eldritch mandolin, overtone-soaked double flute and Bob's romantic, Prokofiev-like circular minor figure that lingers after the music ends. “Gather Together” is a prayer of peace and unity from the “Gaea Star Crystal” album that the ensemble portrays as a staid, formal opera aria with tight acoustic guitar work, imaginative piano and a foundational conga groove. “Jophy” is a character to whom Mariam has turned to during several episodes, a monkey who finds a purple flower in a “Jabarandi” tree and the ensemble illustrate the tale in yet another Prokofiev homage, this time to the narrative, onomatopoetic embodiment of characters through music. Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #649 is an inspiring hour of dynamic, creative, visionary acoustic music played by The Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, Native flute and double flute, acoustic guitar, Celtic harp, Tibetan bowl, shruti box, ukulele and harmonica, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and Native drum. Recorded in early December of 2025 at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts, today's show begins with the somberly hypnotic “Like Mist Rising”, a gorgeous and subtly propulsive minor folk song driven by Mariam's energized acoustic guitar and Craig's galloping congas. “May Our Life Flow Before Us” is a spacious, pretty, simple ballad with an affecting vocal from Mariam and stately gospel piano from Bob and sweeping Celtic harp and soaring Native flute define the mysterious, raga-like “When I Open My Eyes I Have Another Chance To Set My Wings And Fly”, a mesmerizing carpet of deeply emotional minimalism punctuated by Mariam's lyrical Native flute and deep, inspiring poetry that dances between melody and speech. “Oh, The Bliss Of Life” is a fantastical, swinging 12/8-time waltz with elements of jazz, blues, indigenous and classical music and a soaring, pitch-perfect vocal from Mariam and “There's Only One Way To Walk In The Strands Of Love” is a rich, majestic raga with several layers of sound built around the E-flat foundation of Mariam's Tibetan bowl in creative and surprising ways. Mariam unfurls her exotic double flute on the stately, classic-sounding “Pay Attention To The Moment”, a lovely pop ballad with ‘50s, minimalist and classical adjacencies and we complete today's show with an unusual B-flat reinterpretation of Mariam's “Gaea Star Crystal” album track “Rooms Of Doubt” that evokes the best of ‘60s balladry and features Mariam's blues harmonica alongside her elegant melody. Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #648 is an hour of dynamic, visionary acoustic improvised music played by Mariam Massaro and Bob Sherwood of the Gaea Star Band with Mariam on vocals, Native flute, double flute, acoustic guitar, dulcimer, classical guitar and ukulele and Bob on piano. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in late November of 2025, today's show begins with the pretty folk ballad “Oh, The Shadows Of Life”, a compelling minor air led by Mariam's chiming acoustic guitar and affecting vocal that slowly transforms into a triumphant, emotional major key before leading into “Be A Torch Of Radiant Love As You Minister To Your Soul”, a powerful raga powered by Mariam's percussive dulcimer and Bob's quick, nimble ostinatos that winds up in a gorgeous, spacious Native flute and vocal conversation from Mariam. Mariam's exotic, overtone-producing double flute is featured on the solemn, reverent “Come My Way”, a powerful song deploying a call-and-response format that slowly moves into an interesting movement that alternates classical and funk vibes into a counterintuitively effective whole. “Become Your Vision Of a Dream Weaver” is a tight, midtempo ukulele song with a fine vocal and detailed, evocative piano and “Calling In The Rain” is a rich, sprawling improvisation that accommodates a powerful series of poetic verses from Mariam that evoke peace, wonder and gratitude towards Mother Nature. Today's show concludes with the anthemic “Celebrate”, a coda of sorts for the preceding piece that moves through and restates today's various motifs and themes. Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #647 is another hour of inventive, dynamic visionary acoustic improvised music brought to you by Mariam Massaro and Bob Sherwood of the Gaea Star Band with Mariam on vocals, Native flute, acoustic guitar, double flute, mandolin and ukulele and Bob on piano. Today's show is recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in mid-November of 2025 and begins with the lush, relaxed and relaxing “Powered By The Almighty In The Avenues Of Light”, a deep, reverently emotional acoustic guitar ballad with pretty, minimalist ostinatos from Bob on piano. We pick up the pace with the driving, celebratory “Snow Queen Came Last Night”, a fine bit of driving, tight ukulele and storytelling from Mariam and a very cool piano setup from Bob that stretches into the powerful flute-and-vocal conversation “Oh, How The Wind Blows In”, featuring fine, impassioned work from Mariam over Bob's powerfully emotive piano cadences. “Sparkling Rays From The Starry Realms” is a frenetic, midnight-colored air created around Mariam's driving, abandoned, chiming mandolin that veers from hard blues to unfettered Eastern European folk in an unsettled, inspired musical journey. Mariam's overtone-producing double flute makes its appearance for the meteorologically active “Oh The Rain”, all wind and passing squalls explained in a driving, electronically treated piano-vocal-Native flute workout with outstanding vocals and piano and “Sail To The Realms”, a moody, evocative-of-adventure song from Mariam's “Gaea Star Crystal” LP is given a duo treatment with a lovely vocal from Mariam over her shimmering acoustic guitar and Bob's tightly controlled classical piano cadences. “Sing Down The Walls” another song from “Gaea Star Crystal” is taken as a Verdian opera overture highlighting Mariam's tight, expressive vocal. We conclude today's show with the active, imaginative, sprawling “Essence Of Life”, a driving rocker built on sheets of driving acoustic guitar and percussive, tight piano. "This week on Wrestling Omakase John is joined by returning guest Velkej Bracha as they start out by discussing bad booking (AEW, because John went to Full Gear for god knows what reason) and good booking (STARDOM, despite what you may have heard!). And, uh, vaccines I guess? Then they move into their planned topics for the episode, which start out with NOAH's 11/21 Cross Over show from Sendai. John discusses NOAH absolutely bombing at the gate, Kaito Kiyomiya's continued very bad year, Team 2000X being like the House without any of the charm, and the NOAH juniors saving the day. Then they get into the actual House, as they do a full review of the special PURGE NIGHT OF TORTURE event produced by everyone's favorite unit from last week at Korakuen! Yeah! Topics include: SANADA thankfully not being a Nazi, double duty Dick Togo, NJPW clearly wants to get their hands on Kaisei Takechi, Saya Kamitani slaps the shit out of a pimp, and KYUUUSHOOOO!Then it's back to STARDOM for two more nights of their ongoing Goddesses tag league, one of which was one of the best tag league shows so far and one of which, uh, was not. Saori & Poi are finally back (thank god), so really the day is saved no matter what. John then tries to get into all the remaining block scenarios for the last two nights but probably fucks it up, because it's complicated and they're kind of stupid. Sorry! They stick with joshi as they head to Sendai Girls next to review their 11/18 show from....wow....Sendai? Is that right?! They discuss Spike Nishimura having a hell of a performance, Mika Iwata actually winning a match (!) and a disappointing main. Finally, they wrap things up with OZ Academy's 11/23 Korakuen show, which might be the first time they've ever been reviewed on this podcast. It's a hell of a retirement show for former GAEA wrestler Sonoko Kato, and they go into it all in detail.Fill out this form if you're interested in appearing on our Wrestle Kingdom Week preview show (deadline for submissions is 11/30!): https://forms.gle/PoTPsfetRribc4Av9Follow Wrestling Omakase's Twitter account: http://www.twitter.com/wrestleomakaseFollow John on Bluesky: http://bsky.app/profile/justoneenby.bsky.social"Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
