We talk about forgiveness. T.D. Jakes “I think the first step is to understand that forgiveness does not exonerate the perpetrator. Forgiveness liberates the victim. It's a gift you give yourself” Unknown “To forgive is not to excuse what the other person did. It's to prevent their behavior from destroying your heart.” Martin Luther King Jr. “We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love.” Alexander Pope English poet “To err is human, to forgive is divine.” "There is no love without forgiveness, and there is no forgiveness without love." Bryant H. McGill "If we really want to love, we must learn how to forgive." Mother Teresa "Never forget that to forgive yourself is to release trapped energy that could be doing good work in the world." - D. Patrick Miller "Forgiving isn't something you do for someone else. It's something you do for yourself. It's saying 'You're not important enough to have a stranglehold on me.' It's saying, 'You don't get to trap me in the past. I am worthy of a future'." Jodi Picoult “Forgive anyone who has caused you pain or harm. Keep in mind that forgiving is not for others. It is for you. Forgiving is not forgetting. It is remembering without anger. It frees up your power, heals your body, mind and spirit. Forgiveness opens up a pathway to a new place of peace where you can persist despite what has happened to you.” Les Brown #forgive #hope #podcast #youtube
Who do we let see ‘beneath our beautiful’? Look at the masks we wear, when did we first put them on. Learn to set them aside for authentic relationships and accept our vulnerability is our superpower. Labrynth - Beneath Your Beautiful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqIxCtEveG8 Brene Brown Daring Greatly: https://brenebrown.com Excerpt from Chapter 2: Debunking Vulnerability Myths Myth #1: Vulnerability is Weakness “The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way our of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people don’t just happen. Elisabeth Kueber Ross “We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be deeply seen and known.” ~Unknown “To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody but yourself - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting. ‘Staying real’ is one of the most courageous battles we will ever fight.” EE Cummings
Why Positive Thinking Doesn't Work #60 - By Aren Deu So as we embark on our personal development journey, we often recognise that Positive thinking, although is great, doesn't always work. Sadly, positive thoughts alone won't necessarily single handedly change your circumstances. If you listened to Episode 59, with Dr Linda Williams or follow one of my favourite neuroscientists Dr Joe Dispensa, you would have likely heard positive thinking doesn't always work. There is science behind it & hopefully I articulate that well enough in this episode to add some value and help you really take control & start to slowly change your life.Key quotes:"Practice makes permanent" - Unknown"To change your personal reality, you need to change your personality" - Dr Joe Dispensa"“Neurons that fire together, wire together.” - UnknownThanks for listeningFree Audible book sign up: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Audible-Memb...Best book on Mindset by Carol Dweck: Mindset https://amzn.to/2QajMvZSupport the podcast: https://www.patreon.com/findyourvoiceLinks to me:Website: https://www.arendeu.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/aren.deu/Twitter: https://twitter.com/arendeuFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/aren.singhLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/aren-deu-...Podcast: https://www.findyourvoicepodcast.comYouTube: http://tiny.cc/51lx6y See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Great Escape Radio Episode #52: Take it from an expert "Look in the mirror… THAT's your competition." – Unknown To learn more about getting started as a travel writer, you can sign up for a special video presentation at: www.greatescapepublishing.com/start/travelwriting. Great Escape Radio host, Jody Maberry, and Great Escape Publishing Director, Lori Allen, introduce us to Margot Bigg. "One of the things that make our travel writing and photography courses at Great Escape Publishing different is that our programs are written by experts," says Lori. Margot is one of those experts. She was sitting behind an editor's desk when Lori found her and already an expert in the field of travel writing. "The advantage to working with experts is that they are grounded. They can look back at their career and offer the foundation that you can only get when you've come over the hump of fear and self-doubt." Margot has an impressive resume as an editor and writer. She has written for numerous publications around the world and has written guide books for Moon and Fodors. Here's how she got her start… "When I first started, I was working in an editorial role in India in the non-profit corporate sector. I reached out to a magazine called Time Out which had just started a new magazine in Dehli asking if the editor worked with freelancers. The editor asked me to write a sample review of a local restaurant which they ended up publishing. From that point, I started freelancing for them and ultimately became the Deputy Editor at the publication." After a year in that position, Margot decided to go back to freelance writing so that she could cast a wider net. Margot shares her insights on what it takes to be a successful travel writer in today's market including… ***What kind of attitude you need to succeed ***Why reading and studying the work of other writers you admire is important ***Why practice is key ***How to combine things you like to increase your writing opportunities ***How learning a foreign language can help you become a better writer Margot also talks to us about the importance of competing against yourself instead of other writers who may be in a completely different place than you. "To move forward, challenge yourself and compete against your own personal best." Margot is leading the Great Escape Publishing Travel Writing Expedition to Costa Rica in July. "We will be immersing ourselves in the Costa Rican culture and teaching writers about the travel writing process." Margot will also be assisting writers with one on one sessions. To sign up for the Costa Rica expedition, go here: http://www.greatescapepublishing.com/event/2017-costa-rica-travel-writing-expedition/.
