Its not child labour if they learn something from it, right? Hehe. We've had a week of finally getting the kids to start helping out around the house and we are feeling ourselves about it big time!Amanda also cracked the instagram passwork so WE'RE BACK in full swing with our podcast sneak peaks and recommended products (NEW SEGMENT ALERT!) Check it out @controlalt.del There's a 'fashion' trend going around that Amanda takes very big issue with and Sam (Mr Commitment Fitness) is in trouble (again). Tune in and let us know what you think.http://www.instagram.com/controlalt.delhttp://www.instagram.com/commitmentfitnesspthttp://www.instagram.com/amanda_hodgson_
That means what you think it does. We jump all over the place today, from Unicorns to sweaty boxes and everything in between. Listen up for our new segment (which Bec sprung on us ON the podcast.)It was a little of whinge FM happening today, with our usual laughter and way through. Listen up and join in the conversation.
This has been YEARS of banter for Amanda and Bec. They have very differing opinions about the appropriateness of this song. Some might call Bec's side of the arguement 'burying your head in the sand'. lolTune in to hear about the incredible ways that Bec has been spoiling her family and their reactions to it... particularly the kids. Its gold. There's some footy talk, some orgy talk and most of all some friends shooting the shit with a fun heart. Let us know what you think!
Amanda has a huge confession to tell Bec, one that even Bec couldnt prepare for. Its been years in the making and its finally come. But we also have a question for you guys... terms of endearment. Do you like them or loathe them? We're talking 'Darl', 'Love', 'Sweetie' etc. I think you can guess which side of the arguement Bec and Amanda fall on. TRIGGER WARNING... this episode talks about suicide and mental health. You may find this difficult. If you need someone to talk to please call the amazing people at LIFELINE on 13 11 14 or text 0477 13 11 14
As Bec's heading in to the realms of teenagers in her household and we both tackle what is apparently 'pre teen' age with our 10 year olds, there are some things we need our kids to know and some challenges we need to overcome. Like everything, we're doing it together and now we're taking you on the ride with us.This week we both share conversations we've had with our kids about devices, gaming, social media and the weight of all that pressure on them in their friendship groups and at home. Bec also shares the devastating reason she's finally travelling home to QLD for a quick visit. As always, we also have a cheeky laugh along the way.
Ok team, help us understand this one. What Bec shared this week needs a community effort to help us understand how this even happens (insert scratches head emoji). Meanwhile Amanda had a revelation about her parenting that has taken hours upon hours of her 10 years to date. Kids birthdays... when is too much too much and do our kids even care? Cakes, dress ups, craft and activities. How far do you take it?Find us on instagram:Bec - @commitmentfitnessptAmanda - @amanda_hodgson_
Hey Hey!!!!! After many many months and a few of you reaching out, we thought it would be a great time to bring the podcast back, so here we are.Our first episode is a little different as we take you through everything that's been happening in our world over the past year++. And if you're following us on the socials, you'll know thats a lot. We've both been 'knocked for six' as us Aussies say so we've been neck deep in nurturing our selves and our families through that. But, we're ready to turn on the mic and chat to you guys, share and have a laugh along the way. TRIGGER WARNING - this episode talks about mental health. Bec shares more than she ever has before about what's been happening with her.We vow to always keep it real with you guys and episode 1 is a perfect example of that.
We've never before spoken about so many things we know about and so many things we definitely do NOT know about. We go all over the place today ... from customer service to the cost of drugs and cigarette's. Where we'll stop nobody knows lol. This weeks ep was inspired by a really shitty situation Bec was put in where she was judged majorly by a professional that should know better and the reason we're so fired up about it is because we know that this must happen to you guys to! Amanda was taken about by someone who completely refused to take their responsibility for a situation and came unstuck in a very quick way. But the biggest takeaway was how Amanda behaved in that moment. How this all lead to the cost of drugs you'll have to find out!
TRIGGER WARNING: This episode discusses suicide and its affects on a community. To say the residents of Corryong have been doing it tough since the bushfires would be an understatements. If you've been listening to the podcast you would have been with us through it all; bushfires, lockdown(S) and the flow on affects of life. What we haven's shared with you is the brutal and heartbreaking reality of the current state of events in Corryong. If you dont know, Corryong is the gorgeous home of The Man From Snowy River on the border of VIC and NSW with a population of approx 1200. Small. Everyone knows everyone. If you visit, everyone knows you're a tourist. It's hard to even write this because it becomes more of a reality... but that's exactly why we should. Over the past 14 months Corryong have lost three young lives to suicide. THREE. In 14 months! They've also experienced 2 tragic deaths in that time of, again, young members of their community. Given her passion for serving her community, Bec really wanted to open up a conversation about this and we both wanted to raise awareness to what is going on as well as some new information we learned about suicide, what to look out for and how we can help. We have both grown up with close friends who experienced mental health issues and its only now, as adults, we realise how much we took on. We're hoping that talking about that will start a conversation with people currently going through it, their kids, their friends and anyone who needs it. Let's be clear, there is no 'outcome' to this weeks episode. Its talking, feeling and walking through it together. You wont 'enjoy' it. Some of it will be tough to listen to. But its important. So important. If you or anyone you know is suffering please call LIFELINE on 13 11 14 Love and hugs, A
Bec had a big moment at home this week!!! That'll serve you for living in the country (insert vomit emoji). It's all systems go with our CTRL ALT DEL this week ... let us know what you think.
Well well well... here we are again! Its been a long Summer break for us with health issues, business building, fleeing states and taking a break. Kind of. We are so happy to be back doing the thing we love the most. Chatting, venting and most of all CTRL ALT DEL whatever the hell we want. To be honest we could legit do with that superpower right now. You will not believe Bec's CTRL ALT DEL this week!!!! One of the big brands decided to release something very controvertial.
Part 1 of 2 wrap up episodes where we share our biggest lessons, take aways, FU moments and more. If you've been listening to the podcast you would've walked through 2020 with us from a perspective of what we'd delete or cancel if we could. In this episode we take a minute to reflect on what we've learned and if we would've done anything different. Its a long one but you'll be sure to be able to grab a couple of take aways for yourself. It comes ahead of next weeks podcast where we use our expertise to give you strategies to hit the ground running heading in to 2021. We'll share our thoughts on NY resolutions (it might surprise you) and what we anticipate will change on Jan 1st.
If your house is anything like ours, the crazy will be amping up the closer you get to the end of the year. The kiddies have been through a lot... HECK! we've all been through the ringer this year and its starting to show. Tune in for your dose of the reality of our lives and the world at the moment, as well as the things we feel like would make it better. My kids came mightly close to being CTRL ALT DEL this week!Amanda
There's a common theme of the past few podcasts... things we can't actually fix. Our CTRL ALT DEL's have been of a permanent nature and that doesn't really sit well with me. I'm more of a fixer... so if you come up with any solutions let me know! We also talk about friendships and the blurred lines that occur when you run a heart centred business. What are your friendships like? Do you have a lot, or a select few important players in your life?
You ready for some AH fire? Tune in to hear me get fired up about something I saw on social media this week that I thought was negligent and manipulative to women. Since when was it not ok to be proud of looking nice and wearing a fabulous dress?! If you dont already know it, you're as beautiful in your trackies at school drop off as you are in a cocktail dress with your hair and makeup done. But we sure do feel better in the latter dont we? And there's nothing wrong with that! Bec let something big slip through the cracks this week and you're going to here just how close she was to keeping her record. No more badges for BP! lolHope you enjoy it. See you on the other side.
So. Much. Going. On.From wet towels and earphones (again - those things are a disaster!) tp how my optimism sometimes gets me in trouble... and why that makes Bec happy. This episode is jam packed full of the nuances that make our friendship so special (and honest) as well as a big bomb for the Paton household. Coming soon!
We're putting it all out there in this one... sharing the real behind the scenes of what it takes to put a podcast together with two Mums, business owners, exercise junkies and best mates. We decided to not edit anything out of this so you'll hear all the good stuff.Including my (self proclaimed) genius idea to make meal prep easier and Bec's wardrobe malfunction. Enjoy!!
We're really getting some momentum with our podcast now and we are really enjoying it... we hope you are too. In this episode Bec and I have a really relaxed chat and update on whats been going on... and once again Bec hits the nail on the head with a CTRL ALT DEL that, like me, will make you think, 'Yes!!! How do I cut that out of my life?'As for me, I need some parenting advice about how much is too much for kids extra curricular sports and how in the world do you choose the ones that are right for your kids?!Can't wait to hear your thoughts. IG:@amanda_hodgson_@cfcountryhealth_pt@control.alt.del
First up, apologies for the audio at the start of this podcast. You'll hear me change headsets and my audio does get better a few minutes in I promise!! You won't be able to hear me at the start and no one wants Control Alt Del without the control! (this will make sense to you after you hear the episode).Bec opens her heart about a vice she has developed over Bushfire, Lockdown 1 and lockdown 2 and it wasn't easy for her. I can honestly tell you that she must've decided right at the last minute to share it because leading up to pressing 'record' she didn't know what her CTRL ALT DEL would be. And I'm so glad she did! It might start a conversation for you or someone you love who is doing it tough in lockdown. Bec gets real about how often she's reaching for a wine and why. The why is the really interesting bit. Being a motivated, disciplined personal trainer, you can imagine why this has caught her a little off guard. But, it for sure helped us shine a light on our perspective wheel houses. So tune in for some honest conversation backed up with key tips that might serve you or someone you love. And, as for me... I have two words... Woolies Ooshies. I don't even know who I am anymore.Enjoy the episode and don't forget to connect on our socials if you want more information or to give feedback. Even among pandemics, building businesses and what feels like 1046 children, we like to laugh. And boy did the lol's flow freely in this episode. I don't know if Venus was in Mercury or if the stars just aligned but we had fun. And boy did Bec come up with a good CTRL ALT DEL. Its' something I've struggled with forever but no one ever speaks about it, so I thought I was broken. Who knew its actually a 'thing'?!Enjoy... we hope you have as much fun listening as we had making it.
From the opening line this podcast is firing on all cylinders. We've extensively spoken about the hardships that have been felt for business owners through the Aussie bushfires and now Covid19. Bec's PT studio has been open for only 10 weeks this year! So, imagine we told you that her landlord (her local Shire) has not provided even a day of rent relief despite numerous requests? Would that fire you up? There's a real chance of businesses going under (if they havent already) through this tumultuous time and to not be helped by your governing body is an absolute joke.We get fired up at the best of times... imagine today.
Sooooo... we're still in the thick of it and it's starting to get old. Bec is in lockdown 2 here in Vic, Australia and, like everyone in VIC, getting a little sick and tired of it all. Despite that the mood was upbeat and strong for this episode which turned into kind of a wrap up of all of our previous episodes (you get an update on everything from my pelvic floor to how my ear pods are staying in my ears - or not as it may be). That being said, I get fired up about some conspiracy theories... specifically their delivery... and give a no holds barred approach to it. Listen up and enjoy! Thanks for listening.
If you ever wanted real insight to the ebs and flows that are a conversation between us, this is it. After a short hiatus and some fairly substantial world events, we're back with a vengeance... but not in the way you might think. We didn't have a CTRL ALT DEL today but instead wanted to have a catch up for all of you to hear. I think you'll be amazed at where it leads. Strap in and get ready for the roller coaster that is this episode. One thing we did agree on is that you should always have your guard up. Things can take a turn in 0.02 seconds and there's no going back. Enjoy... and if you're a naked sleeper you might have to unsubscribe.
'Here we go again... our hearts are headed out to Melbourne this week as they embark on ISO 2.0. This podcast was recorded last week just before the announcement of extended school holidays, isolation and homeschooling for our Melbourne friends. And, while people are generally feeling ok because they feel like they are more equipped this time around, there's still a really somber feeling about it. And you'll notice that is the vibe of the podcast today as we talk about Bec opening up her PT studio again after a what has been a shitshow start to 2020 everywhere, but particularly bushfire affected areas. However, if you're listening, be sure to shoot Bec a message on Instagram to congratulate her because as this podcast is going live she's closing out the first day of re-opening her business!!!! And its been a ripper day so please head to @cfcountryhealth_pt to show her your support. The energy might be lower in this one vs other podcasts but stay tuned in as we share our hearts and our frustrations because we have a feeling that it will likely resonate with you.
Quick question... what time do your bins get collected? Because there is unreasonable and there is ridiculous. Also, how far would you consider too far to walk? 5km? 10km? 20km? Guess how far Bec pushed her limits this week and how long her trusty watch gave her to recover. Tune in to our early morning sesh in the hopes of being organised for school holidays here in AUS. SHHHH... this kids are sleeping.
One thing we decided we would never compromise is the truth... and this week found us going into the joy, annoyance and reality that is Women's health. There's no getting around it, we experience it every day. Or, at the very least every month. This week I let you all in a little on a potentially major issue that might be going on with my uterus and Bec has some major feels about her menstrual cycle. The funny thing is, we dont tell each other our CTRL ALT DEL's until we are recording and somehow they keep aligning!! Next thing you know our cycles will be in sync. Although I sincerely hope not because I would not be happy about that at all. Have a listen to find out why.AH
From snorkels to cheerleaders this weeks episode is a cracker! Obviously our husbands know we do this podcast and interestingly we've never had a conversation with them about where 'the line' is (they should know better and should probably make that happen). And, if you know us you know that OBVIOUSLY gives us free reign to talk about whatever we want! (Don't worry, the math is right on that conclusion).Insert Sam, Bec's husband, having a boys night in her new at home workout studio and living to tell the tale.. He gave it a good nudge... but how did Bec take it?I'm not going to lie, I was laughing while producing this podcast. Its a goodie.A XX
How do you recover a loss that was never a gain to start with? Strap in for this one because we dive deep into some important issues, starting with a really personal one from Bec that she felt heavily she needed to share because there's no doubt a lot of you have experienced it too. One of the important reasons to do this podcast for us was to connect with an audience with our truth. And whether we're joking about tea bags (stick around until the end) or talking about world issues the outcome should be the same. That you guys out there can listen and feel heard without saying a word. This episode covers a gamete of topics; pregnancy scares, infertility, tea bag wrappings and current Crossfit scandals. You're going to love it!
As things in Australia start opening up after Covid19 we find ourselves settling in to busier weeks. Along with that we are empathetic to people getting back to their business and needing to make sales... in the right way. Bec had an encounter this week that couldve been n last weeks podcast as a pet peeve but this week she explains why she's CTRL ALT DEL it. We get quite energetic about this one so have your hand ready on your volume button. INSTAGRAM: @controlalt.del
We're usually the first people to keep things positive, but we also promised you a podcast filled with real and raw content and there are some things in iso that got us a little hot under the collar. Some people have Misophonia. Some are triggered by incorrect grammar (your/you're or their/there/they're #amiright). But we have a couple of other peeves on our mind. Press play, play along and let us know if you agree or what your pet peeve is. What's made you say 'you know what really annoys me?!' You won't get this chance much so peeve away!!
Things are changing at a warp speed with Covid19 and it feels like there are different rules for everyone... because there are. Not just internationally but nationally even between the closest states. We talk about how we're navigating that.Amanda also takes one for the team and Ctrl Alt Delete's something you've all thought about before, but maybe haven't dared voiced it.
Well, this escalates quickly. We go from starting the session without having our Ctrl Alt Del and end it being fired up about kids and teeth brushing. There's no restriction on where our conversations end up! Editing this was a laugh inducing experience because Bec and Amanda explain in detail their nightly routine with their kids... and it's fairly certain you'll relate.
Wow! Thanks for the awesome feedback to Ctrl Alt Del. Seems you guys love listening as much as we love making it. Phew! lol. Strap in for this one because it's a little longer than usual. One of the things you asked for is to know more about us so in this episode we dive into who we are, what we do and all the hats we wear. Stay around until the end for our Ctrl Alt Deletes because we need you to help settle a discussion between us. Check our instagram page for the image of what we're talking about and to let us know what you think.Instagram: @controlalt.del
When I got diagnosed with Covid19 it affected more than my immediate family... namely Bec. lol. In this episode we dive deep into what it was like to be diagnosed with the virus, the symptoms and we go behind the scenes into some private conversations between Bec and I happened in the peak of the symptoms. We wanted to share it with you the best way we know how and let you in to the full picture. If you have any further questions or want to contact us please do so on our social media. For this specific episode we'll lead you to our private socials as well as the podcast because we're sharing daily habits, health tips and the fitness regime Bec is giving me to rebuild my strength. After a hiatus because Amanda had Covid19, the gang is back together! It was a battle between who was suffering worse over the past couple of weeks because Bec had a real issue in that time that couldnt be problem solved with Amanda. Press play to hear how she overcame and Amanda gets a little fired up about something...www.instagram.com/controlalt.del
Well, this is an interesting one! Recorded at the exact time Amanda's husband was flying home from the USA, before everything went really pear shaped in the world. It's a fascinating look back at the state of the world just 4 short weeks ago! And, now that Amanda and Rob have been through Corona it's an interesting listen given the hindsight we all have now. Bec also gets super vulnerable in her Ctrl Alt Del and has some brilliant words of wisdom for many who suffered the trauma of the bushfires like she did. Fear not though, there are laughs, puns and general chit chat that'll lighten the load. Enjoy!EDIT: Please note that this podcast was recorded on 12.3.20, at a very different time in the world. It wasnt that long ago but things have changed significantly in that time. Some opinions and details have changed since that time.
Welcome to episode 1! We kicked off the podcast with a real nail biter (if you know you know). Please listen and help us understand the need for one of our bodies features as well as chime in on whether you think there's a place for reward charts for adults.
