So we've had episodes still coming out but they were all old and backlogged. This is a fresh new recording and we didn't even plan it! So much so that our microphones aren't great and there's no real subject. We had an online meeting and then decided "what the heck?" So what the heck in deed, we're back!

Our Daydreamers are on their way to the 3rd portal on the left when... Wait a minute! They're taking a u-turn and going to the 2nd portal on the right?!?! That's right, Eddie, Mike, and Billy are jumping into obscurity and talking little known cartoons!   This episode was recorded quite some time ago and can also be seen in video form on the facebook page.  

Heck no we're not getting rebooted, we're just talking about reboots in film. What actually is a reboot? It seems the definition of it sends people in many directions. They're all over the place, a little more adult, maybe a little salty at times, but still all in the name of fun and not too far off brand of the usual DIM you love. Through the magic of syndication and reruns, most of us have had the pleasure of being exposed to entertainment that predated our births. Whether it's an episode of "Yogi Bear" or "Jabberjaw", it's fun to experience what the generations before us watched and enjoyed. If you're lucky enough to be able to do this, it's fun is to talk about some of those cartoons with someone who enjoyed them when they were NEW, and it's even MORE fun if that person is a fellow podcaster and friend! In this special "Daydream: After Dark", we're joined by "Kip" a.k.a. During the late 1970's and early 1980's, there was an absolute flood of "High Fantasy" Movies that wowed our imaginations with their fantastic worlds of wonderment and blew our young minds with engaging and thrilling stories! And one of the high points of this cinematic deluge, was "The Dark Crystal"!! Envisioned, created and written by Jim Henson on a literal dark and stormy night in the late 1970's, "The Dark Crystal" was a hit fantasy film where 100% of the sets, effects, and "actors" were either puppets or practical effects! Telling the Story of the mythical world of Thra, where the creatures of this world are in a state of slowly dying as the power of The Dark Crystal slowly fades. The corrupt and evil Skeksis have corrupted and abused the crystal to the point where it can no longer sustain the planet. An ancient prophecy and an unlikely hero in the form of a nearly extinct race called the Gelfings are the inhabitants of Thra's only hope. It's San Diego Comic Con 2019, and we're so pumped about the announcements coming out of the hollowed halls of one of the most epic Comic and Pop Culture conventions of all time, that we just HAVE to share some of them with YOU!!                                                                            Aaaaaaaand...it's the 30th anniversary of one of our favorite movies, the cult classic, "UHF", created by the comedic geniuses, "Weird Al" Yankovic and Jay Levy.                                   Released upon an unsuspecting populace, July 21, 1989, the world would never be the same after we gazed upon the insanely funny, and bonkers comedy. The truth is, if they HAD seen an alien, I'm sure Billy would have had to have dragged Eddie's unconscious body out of the theater! This summer we had the pleasure of hosting several panels at O Comic Con, and it was with a  particular sense of nostalgia and overall good feelings that we had the privilege of hosting Davey Johnson's panel. A little back story here: Eddie moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in the fall of 1997 and after a time of taking his lumps getting on his feet, he ran into the one and only Mr. Davey Johnson. Funny, laid back, and frankly a bit weird, Davey and Eddie got along splendidly and had many adventures together (even if only for a short time). Time passed and Davey moved out to Los Angeles, California to seek out his fame and fortune, and Eddie set along a path that led to a wife, three kids, and a modest podcast empire. Fast forward to today, and Davey has starred in such hit shows as Adventure Time, Garfunkel and Oates, the film "Southbound", and MORE! Listen and let the laugh(s) begin! ~ DIM
