Nik Venios, founder of The Ideas Agency, shares his journey of resilience and creativity.  When Nik lost his mother to breast cancer at age eight it made him an outlier.  The transformational impact of her death wasn't all negative, he says.  It provided him the the ability to always look at problems from a range of perspectives. Nik discusses his early career, how he discovered design thinking, and how he went from foraging for nettles in Denmark to inventing a hygienic door handle long before the 2020 pandemic.  We discuss the creative process, the importance of taking the time to truly define and understand a problem before developing solutions that may not produce the best fix, and the intense value of testing and tinkering. The Fantasy Daydreamers get the news that their famous business may go bankrupt(2:20). They aren't sure whether they should start praying for a miracle or sit in jail for the alleged crime they would be framed for(10:25). Just before they reach their lowest point, their guardian angel shows up and reveals what a nightmare life would be without them(19:10). Upon arriving back home with the new point of view, the Daydreamers witness a miracle with everyone in town pitching in to help them out(23:15). Remember, George: no man is a failure who has friends!

The Fantasy Daydreamers are scoping out the game of the week as part of their yearly heist(1:25). The residents of the mall they are scoping out are shocked by the news that they are vulgar and crude for a group representing Santa(7:25). The Daydreamers meet a kid who really thinks they are Santa Claus and this puts them in a real Space Jam(13:55). The kid asks a barrage of questions which makes the Daydreamers constantly shout Damn(16:25)! Ultimately, they break into the mall safe and collect all the waiver wire picks but have a change of heart before absconding with the loot(20:30). Does your daddy have a safe?

The Fantasy Daydreamers get news of a secret new land called Chrsitmasland(2:20). They start frolicking in the snow and sit in to watch people experience yuletide joy(13:45). After returning to their home world, their mind is occupied with dreams of the Christmas wonderland(30:45). The word spreads fast so the Fantasy Daydreamers are forced to keep some ne'er do wells out of the sacred Christmasland(36:00). He eventually has to save Sandy Claws who rewards him with a fantasy player that will take him to the playoffs. Jack, please, I'm only an elected official here, I can't make decisions by myself!

The Daydreamers have finally become the best house on the block but someone new moves in that might have the game of the week(2:00). Then the Daydreamers get the news their new rival wants to beat them at decorating(7:30). The Daydreamers vow to make the neighbor wish they were someone else(13:15). After going back and forth, the Daydreamers prove why they are the MVP(17:15). Little did they know, however, that their neighbor had some waiver wire picks up their sleeve(20:20). This is the most clothes they have worn in years!

The Fantasy Daydreamers get the news they need a new coach to turn their basketball season around(4:20). When the new coach shows up, he makes some interesting decisions on who to start and sit in the team(8:20). This leads some of the players to get into fantasy fights about his choices(16:35). Ultimately, the coach turns the season around and the team ends up clinching a spot in the playoffs(28:10). What's on your mind, besides the yarmulke?

The Daydreamers get intertwined in different versions of the game of the week(2:28). They then get the news that love is spreading all around then in the lead-up to Christmas(6:23). There is a story about Mr. Lunch Pail(15:40) and a person who strikes out after being told, "You're not that guy, pal."(18:31) Then, when all seems lost the Daydreamers come to the door and without saying a word, go through their list of waiver wire picks(21:37). It's the saddest part of my day, leaving you!

The Daydreamers get news of a magical hat that can turn snow into a person(2:30). This starts the wonderful adventures of Frosty the Daydreamer who sits in cheerful holiday celebrations(6:10). The local children get into fantasy fights over who will get to sing with Frosty next(13:25). To become a true Daydreamer, Frosty trades away his corn cob for a podcast mic, allowing ALL the children to sing and be filled with holiday cheer(21:15). I suppose it all started with the snow!
