For no good reason, the name "Johnny" is the subject of our latest Top 4 1/2 List. (Has it been a slow week around here? What do you think?) We have characters named Johnny from movies, TV, songs, and even more goofy DC comic books. There might even be a robot on the list, since Ally Sheedy assures us that Johnny 5 is very much alive. Plus: Dueling Johnny songs from Chuck Berry and Men at Work, dueling Johnny songs from El DeBarge and "Weird Al" Yankovic, Greg Brady vs. Johnny Bravo, Charlie the Tuna vs. Mr. Peanut (?), and more. Did we miss your favorite Johnny? Let us know! The best way to reach us is by canal. Just ask Johnny Canal. The Flopcast website! The ESO Network! The Flopcast on Facebook! The Flopcast on Instagram! Johnny goes through his Hinge dating app results and roasts his matches' profiles.
David Lucas joins the podcast to discuss his run-ins with gangsters, how he deals with his baby mama(s), and his thoughts on large clits.
Mat and Kev are joined by Californian and US Masters Qualifier, Johnny Crass, ostensibly to discuss the SE but this quickly descends into a Ninth Free For All as we cover topics as incongruous as the location of Ohio, why Feldraks belong in Kev's Box of Broken Crap and the pain of broken minis. More commonly to be found pushing about VC, Johhny blows the lads minds with his fresh take on SE and adds a new term to our lexicon - 'blocks and bros.' We consider the USA meta and end up concluding that running a 1300 pt model is, in fact, entirely sensible. It's fair to say that the podcast has made a new friend... Enjoy.
Malik B joins the podcast to discuss his rising stardom and inevitable sexual misconduct.
In the intro episode, Johnny rants about his Twitter ban, white cops, and the recent allegations against Chris D'Elia.

Unstable, disturbed, aggressive, and confrontational. All words to describe one of the most iconic horror movie villains of all time. The infamous film of The Shining by Stanley Kubrick couldn't have had such an impact without Jack Nicholson. Listen as we discuss his descent into madness as well as touch on the film itself and its importance in film history. Break out the axe, chop a door down and yell "HERE'S JOHNNY" as we talk the man and study this character.
Episode 18: We celebrate one of ya favorite villains birthday and we go at it defending our person picks in the Hero Roast.
Welcome to the apocalypse, my friends.Wait, that sounds really bad with everyone currently in self isolation from COVID-19. We at That’s Not How Science Works don’t actually think we’re in the middle of a real apocalypse. The current pandemic will eventually pass, so hang in there! Wash your hands! Self isolate! Don’t touch your face! But in this episode we’re joined by Larry and Justin from the Here’s Johnny podcast to discuss zombies and viruses. You know, the classic fictional apocalypse. This is a little bit of a different episode because we aren’t discussing a specific piece of media in this episode. Instead, Larry and Justin are here to provide some context on zombies since, you know, Nicole and Caitlin are babies when it comes to horror. Then, we discuss the science of viruses and vaccines in three zombie movies in particular: I Am Legend, World War Z, and 28 Days Later. And we also end up talking a bit about coronaviruses and COVID-19 because it was a bit inevitable.Find the articles for the episode here.Find us all on Twitter:Caitlin: twitter.com/CaitlinVanasseNicole: twitter.com/NicoleLucklessLarry: twitter.com/beaverlaJustin: twitter.com/picklethingTNHSW Podcast: twitter.com/TNHSWpodTNHSW on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tnhswpodthatsnotscience.comKaleidoscope Media Network:KMN on Twitter: twitter.com/KaleidoNetworkKMN on Instagram: www.instagram.com/kaleidoscopemedianetworkKMN email: kaleidoscopemedianetwork@gmail.comHere’s Johnny: twitter.com/HeresjohnnycastWizard Studies: twitter.com/WizardStudies

Back to zombies, and what a movie to dive back into the living dead. Danny Boyle and crew dive into very rough topics and force us an audience to take a hard look at ourselves. Here's Johnny.. To find the right actor, Robert Zemeckis put the word out that he was looking for "a young Tom Hanks with light eyes and a quirky disposition." A young Mississippi boy by the name of Michael Conner Humphreys showed up at an open casting call in Memphis, Tennessee and fit the bill perfectly. His talent and natural ease with the material charmed everyone. During Humphreys' screen test, according to Robert Zemeckis, "He jumped off the screen when we saw him because he had a very different type of delivery."Michael Humphreys' unique dialect turned out to be a major contributing factor to making Forrest Gump work. Before Humphreys was cast, Hanks had not settled on how Forrest would talk throughout the film. "Then Jessica Drake, my voice coach, and I heard Michael Humphreys, who played the young Forrest Gump," explained Hanks. "He was from Mississippi up by Tennessee and he had this great vocal cadence with very particular characteristics, with hard 'Gs' in the middle of things. Like he said, 'sing-ging'. I listened to Michael a lot, she made linguistic templates and then I read the entire script to her. It took the better part of three weeks and by the end I was doing it without having to think about it."
