All the Extreme Kayak Fishermen this past weekend in the 2018 leg 1 of the #sailfishsmackdown were outstanding, and battled the most extreme conditions we've ever been presented. In the end, the best of the best battled 3-5ft seas and went 3 for 9 on Sailfish in the competition. These anglers really put Extreme in Extreme Kayak Fishing!  Jacksonville angler Franco Natividad joins the Kayak Fishing RAW Podcast to talk about winning leg 1 of the 2018 Sailfish Smackdown. This EKFT event was one for the ages and saw one of the best weigh in's to date.  Our second guest is Texas angler Eugene Mora. He made his way to Pompano Beach FL to fish the EKFT Summer Slam Part 2 and landed a stud 48.7lb wahoo to finish 4th. He will talk about what its like to fish this one of a kind event as a out of state angler.  It wouldnt be a Kayak Fishing RAW podcast without a Bigfoot, Ghost or Alien story. Florida native Chad Burkley is the ultimate outdoorsman! Chad called in to talk about catching 11ft Gators to rounding up monster swordfish in South Florida. Chad owns Snag and Bag Outfitters, a Gator charter company. Before catching Gators Chad's passion was catching Swordfish. He did commercial Swordfishing for 6 years and caught a monster 532lber, his biggest catch. Extreme owner Joe Hector & Chad even almost sank offshore in the gulfstream while swordfishing at night. Chad will give the knowhow on catching these monster fish and has an interesting opinion on daytime Swordfishing.  Kayak Fishing RAW will also go over the upcoming Summer Slam Series & give a fishing report on May fishing in South Florida. The Black Fin Tuna have arrived!

Battle in the Bahamas champion Jon Venarchick calls in Kayak Fishing RAW to talk about winning a fat check for 10k and the experience of fishing & winning this one of a kind international tournament. Jon has been a consistent angler in the EKFT series never missing an event. Back in 2015 he won the Sailfish Smackdown as a new angler to offshore kayak fishing. Jon is a kayak guide for South Florida Kayak Guides in northern FL. Julian Dalton from South Africa is also calling in to talk about his monster Kingfish being Sharked and almost winning the tournament. Julian made the long trip to fish in the Battle in the Bahamas. He finished 5th winning a 900$ Vibe Kayak.

Gene is practically a Florida native having moved to Florida just shy of his first birthday from Bethesda, Maryland. Louisiana angler Steve Lessard joins Kayak Fishing RAW to talk about his huge win at the Hobie Worlds Championship. This is actually his second win at the Hobie Worlds, He won in 2014 in Holland. Steve competes in many kayak tournaments like the BCKFC and IFA. Steve grew up in the bayou state fishing any pond or bayou he could find, then grew up fishing in boats both inshore freshwater and some offshore. Steve purchased his first kayak in 2010 and never looked back.
